Northside-WR star returns to school 2 days after being shot

Northside-Warner Robins star defensive end Austin Roberts, who was shot in the side at a Sunday gathering, was back in school Tuesday and has been cleared to resume practicing next week.
According to Northside coach Keith Kinsler, the bullet hit Roberts in the side and went out the other side without hitting any major organs.
Roberts will not play tonight against Veterans, but Kinsler expects him to be on the sidelines cheering on his teammates.
“He feels very blessed,” said Kinsler in a Thursday phone interview. “His biggest concern was letting his teammates down.”
Kinsler said he addressed the situation with Roberts and the team.
“We’re always reminding our kids to make good decisions and to be aware of their surroundings,” said Kinsler.
Kinsler said Roberts was not involved in the confrontation.

I am glad to hear that he will be O.K. I hope everything goes well for him in his recovery. The coach gave them good advice about being aware of their surroundings as we never know what lies around the next corner. Austin has every reason to feel blessed. I’m sure he has the thoughts and prayers from the entire football community that is the state of Georgia.
