Gwinnett powerhouses collide on Thursday night

Two old Gwinnett County powerhouses will reunite when Parkview (1-0) plays at Norcross (1-0) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

It will be televised live on WSB-TV/Me-TV 2.2, which can be found on the following cable systems by channel number: Comcast 248 (Metro Atlanta, Calhoun, Rome), Charter 126 (Metro Atlanta, Athens), Windstream 871 (Dahlonega, Hiawassee, Cornelia, Commerce), ETC 190 (Ellijay, Cherokee, Pickens, Gilmer, Fannin), Plantation 601 (Green, Putnam) and Knology 168 (West Point). The re-broadcast will be shown at 1 a.m. Friday night on WSB-TV on Ch. 2.

You can also watch at online live broadcast of the game at http://www.wsbtv.com/thursdaynightfootball

Parkview and Norcross are both Class AAAAAAA schools but in different regions. They both wanted a tough opponent before the region schedule.

“I try to play good opponents in the preseason to get us ready for the region,” Norcross coach Keith Maloof said. “Parkview has a great tradition over there. When they won three state championships, we played them as good as anybody.

“We picked up the series a few years ago, I like playing Parkview. I like playing physical teams. Their coaches put them in different formations, and I like our kids being able to see a lot of different stuff prior to going into the region schedule.”

Said Parkview coach Cecil Flowe, “I think we match up well. They’ve got some awful fine players but I think we do, too.”

IMO, Norcross is NOT a Top 10 team in Class 6A…… :-)

Some power. Norcross was simply to much. To much Austin. Alvin would have made it worse.

Kamara only had 13 carries for 21 yards. 12 of those carries were before he got hurt. He also had 2 fumbles….. :-)

Found it interesting how commentators were almost trying to will something big from Kamara to justify claim they kept repeating about him being #1 RB in GA….no comparison to Tyren Jones IMO….Jones would have torched Parkview.

Also don’t think Norcross is a Top 10 team
