I understand the issues that Cross Keys has being that they 80% of their students are hispanic and many have very little football experience. But I was a little disappointed in seeing the effort from their coaches. I had just gotten there and was waiting for the 2nd game at Grady stadium and I witnessed Best Academy line up in a normal pro formation with a split end who was lined up in a typical postion on the side nearest the Cross Keys sideline. The receiver was uncovered, the coaches seem not to even bother to yell at his team for someone to come and cover the player. This happen for 2 plays in a row. And the Best Academy saw it, but basically because they were already winning 52-0 they deferred not to thorw it to the wide open player, essentially out of mercy. It pains me to say this, but Cross Keys might have to consider discontiuning football or at the least play a JV schedule.

Cedar Grove playoff hopes are in big trouble. They will not I repeat will not beat Woodward, St. Pius, or BT.Those teams will beat them off discipline alone. CG has better athletes, but they will get out coached. The team clearly has no pride or discipline at all. I don’t think they have ever heard of the terms Running Game. Just Throw It SWOOSH!!!!! All- American QB: who only has 1 second to throw the ball..If his family had any since they should have transferred him to another school..

PIERCE COUNTY PUT BACON COUNTY AWAY 27-20 AFTER SPOTTING BACON 13 POINTS. PIERCE DROPPED 2 MORE TOUCH DOWN PASSES AND RUN THE CLOCK OUT WITH 40 MINUTES LEFT WITH ONLY 20 YARDS LEFT TO SCORE AGAIN. BACO HAS A GOOD TEAM THOUGH

HOld up Big Blue Pride,

Sure they lost a couple of games and they are all about throwing the ball. I still think they can pull an upset. even if they lose to all 3 of those teams, they should be the favorite to get the 4th playoff spot. Towers, McNair, and Decatur arent exactly world beaters. I still think they will beat at least one of the private schools though.

Cedar Grove will get out coached. I have to Admit I was wrong. After watching Decatur last night at Grady, they will beat Cedar Grove also. Decatur was very young but they outplayed Grady and had many chances to win that game. They are going to knock someone off wait and see… Ready to see my Tucker boys back in action this week!

Seems like Decatur could use some coaching too. down 2 touchdowns and you run a dive play up the middle on 4th and long. Playcalling like that will get you beat everytime. I will agree that Decatur definitely has some talent. Just think Cedar Grove with the qb has an advantage. Grady picked Decatur apart all night with the passing, am sure Cedar Grove will do the same.

I think Decatur Qb is just a sophomore and I am sure they are limited right now in what he does. I know the new coach at Decatur really well and he has probably put together the best staff they have seen their since Davenport was there. They have a long ways to go but I was surprised to see their showing from how they have been in past. Grady is loaded with Senior talent and if program was accurate, I think Decatur had 5 sophomores starting. A lot of talent and they definitely will be a dark horse in that region. You are correct Grady QB had a great night but the surprising thing is that Grady could not run the ball effective which is usually Grady’s strength. I look forward to that Decatur and Cedar Grove match up. How bout Redan big win over Troup?? Cedar Grove has them in 2 weeks !

I agree with you that at the start look like it might Decatur’s night but Grady came up with the big plays. But still say Cedar Grove with their playoff experience will have the edge. Redan did get a big win that one suprised me, though I know there is a lot of turmoil at Troup. Redan will have to deal with a tough sub region of their own with Marist, Columbia and Chamblee.

@Dekalb Co Guy
Columbia will get that 4th spot..they will beat those same teams you were talking about. the Towers McNair etc..Cedar Grove has problems defending the Wing T the last three teams they face run that style of offense and they are better than Columbia at it and they couldnt stop Columbia from running the ball so what would be there strategy to stop those last three teams from running the ball as well.
