Final – SPX 21, Westminster 3 … Westminster starts 0-2 for the second straight season. Might be tough to be .500 this regular season, but they’ll be in the playoffs.

Lassiter won 37-29. Not sure if I would say this game is as close as the score would indicate. Some horrible tackling on 2 plays and and really shutting down the play calling in the 3rd quarter led to the final score. Hillgrove is definitely resilient and is going to be a threat later in the season.
I can see the defense being worn down by the humidity and weather in general, but I wish I would have seen more of a killer instinct to start the 2nd half by Lassiter to get another score or 2 to be able to play the way they did. I will “blame” that on the coaches going to more of a run offense for much of the 2nd half.

Buford 7-3 in the fourth. … Buford led Elbert County 35-0 in the third quarter a year ago, but Buford is returning only 3 of 22 starters….
UPDATE – Alpharetta’s Dobbs was just intercepted. Milton leads 28-14.

Oxford is driving, 1st and 10 at Carrollton 18, trailing 14-17. Carrollton trying to hold on for what would be very nice win.
