Four Georgia, two Tech commitments on AAAAAA preseason all-state team
The final Georgia High School Football Daily/Atlanta Journal-Constitution preseason all-state team, for Class AAAAAA, has 17 players who have made their college choices, more than any other class.
Going to Georgia are Brandon Kublanow, Naim Mustafaa, Tray Matthews and J.J. Green.
Auburn has claims on Jarrad Davis, Trey Johnson and Carl Lawson.
Travis Custis and Shamire DeVine have picked Georgia Tech.
Clemson has Grayson stars Robert Nkemdiche and Wayne Gallman.
The rest are Octavius Jackson to Florida, Tiquan Lang to South Alabama, Dominique Threatt to South Florida, Eddie Printz to UCLA and Carlos Burse to Vanderbilt.
But the team isn’t about college prospects. Returning all-state players Alex Stoehr of North Gwinnett, Nathaniel Norwood of Lovejoy and Kasey Gaines of Grayson might not have as many offers, but they have a history of production that can’t be ignored.

It’s interesting to note that most of these kids are from metro Atlanta and not from the schools in south Georgia, which normally dominate the awards polls. Could it have something to do with the schools in south GA not being big enough?

How in the world you post all-state team at the end of the 2011 season then come back with a 2012 pre-season all-star team and leave those same guy’s off. That’s telling me it’s only Hype and the reporters writing these articles are simply looking for the Big name and not true production and value. and Guy’s that have committed.
The more i read these rankings and so called evaluations the more i see them as FAKE, FALSE, and BOGUS. Please note not calling any of these guy’s Hyped just making the obvious observation. These kids work hard and with a stroke of a pen you can take that away.
I’ll simply waiting to see how they all produce during the season, and that will tell me what I need to know about these all-state selections and analysis.

lowndes 52-0 over thomasville in tonights scrimmage…….over 500 yd of offense…….with the varsity and jv each playing a half……..
colquitt was losing to norcross 27-24 at one point………….cant wait to here all their excuses of they lost……..i hope they won since they are in our region……..but several packer fans were already letting all of us know there were going to be 5 to 7 starters that wd not play

You should know Colquitt isn’t too concerned with a scrimmage or even region games. Their coach does a good job of having them at their peak when the playoffs come around. I don’t think he cares what seed they are they will be as tough as anyone at the end.

“Got to be honest here. I was disappointed with the Packers! All the BS Probst through out about this team, and I saw what I saw tonight. I know we had guys out due to injury, but when you run out 110 players, that is no excuse. We were bigger last year, and more athelitic. Probst should be selling used cars, cause he sure sold me on this team, and I am sorely disappointed. I will say that back Kamara is awesome………….hope the Dawgs get him.
Offense looked okay, but we only threw the ball downfield once……..the back Lewis looked great. Defense better improve………….rankedn 18 in the nation? Give me a break

colquitt county has a good qb…..one good offensive linemen ….one good linebacker……..and hill (ole miss committ) at wr …………..and thats about it……….that is why all the hype was built up about this team………………and i knew not to buy into it………this team is nowhere near as loaded as last year……lost way to many studs bryce giddens(arkansas state) ty smith (georgia) Shermaine washington lb from last year now at VSU and so is the phenom kicker oscar luna…….they lost a load………

Should be all-state 75, ok it’s just opinions, these kids are very good and those not no the list are good. Bet most writers haven’t seen all these kids. At the end of the year 150 kids will get offers.

Come on people…don’t read too much into the scrimmage games. Most teams only run about 25% of their plays to avoid showing too much before the real season. They also play a lot of their 2nd and 3rd tier players to avoid injuries to key players and to see what those players can contribute. The real season starts next week for most teams. That will be the time to make truly informed judgements.

yea……….you are right…….full of great football knowledge…….The rb for norcross ran over around and through the colquitt defense to the tune of 217 yards on 11 carries……….norcross is a better team than thomasville………i understand that…….but they are by no means a powerhouse in 6aaaaaa……….the bottom line is that colquitt just does ot have the skill nor size they had last year on both sides of the ball…….he would not have had 217 yards rushing against colquitt of last year…….i dont want to hear any of your whining excuses……..
there are pros and cons to playing good opponnents and lesser opponents in a scrimmage….and scheduling these games is not as easy at it sounds………..Lowndes has always scrimmaged thomas county central or thomasville , even when we were winning titles…….
I had 3 friends that live in colquitt and are diehard colquitt fans………they said that the defense is a BIG concern for colquitt………not worried about the ability to score….

We were alternating players and QBs every other series. Segraves threw the ball only 9 times. We also played only three quarters. There’s still not anybody in the state we are scared of, and def not in the region.

Alex stephenson from Valdosta who will be #14 at lowndes ………his dad brought him or transferred him to lowndes…we did not go recruit him away from valdosta. He is a senior……….and wilkes is the guy at valdosta and his dad knew that and he wanted his son to move to lowndes bc he did not like the way he got done at valdosta last year…kid was 4-0 ..got hurt and wilkes came in ….lost his first game to mlk then caught fire rest of year and when alex recovered he never got his job back………..we didnt recruit him………his dad transferred him to lowndes and to be honest with you i feel that he may not be the starter this year..not sure…….at least he lives 10 min across town and out of STATE and had not already played 1 yr of senior ball in the state of bama,…..get your guns loaded if you want to battle me on this board bc i have my facts in order

Colquitt fan …the only thing that is average is your knowledge of football….colquitt is 40-11 over the last 4 years and colquitts record in the same 4 yr span is 35-13……….with that said…….what makes you think i want cheater prospt as my coach…..Lowndes has won 3 state titles with coach randy mac at the helm and we make the playoffs every year and have won like 8 region titles with him being our coach………get off the reefer and when you come back down to earth then talk……..yall havent won a region title in what over 10 years…15? let alone a state title…….Lowndes just average………lol……we may have took a step back from being the power we were in 2004-2009 but you can bet your arse that it wont be long before the title is raised again at lowndes high school…may not be this year but sooner than you think….thats for sure

Lowndes is 40-11 over last 4 years with coach mac at the helm…while colquitt is 35-18 over the last 4 years with rush “cheatin” propst at the helm………yea i wont him as the coach for lowndes……….what coach mac does with the kids we have in the school system at lowndes is far more meaningful and impressive to me than having to go and bring in boys from alabama who have already played a full year of football while being in the 12th grade

Norcross has a good offense and should have a good season. It was great for them to go down and perform the way they did. However you can bet Colquitt will look like a different team at hte end of the season. Look at the last two seasons they didn’t win the region but they were easily the best team from their region. Their goal is the state tournament not the region or preseason games. Probst is a master sandbagger.

Like I said, you’ve said three different times. I’ll put it like this to ya like this. Marvin Bracy was the fastest kid in the country last year and signed with fsu. He almost made the Olympic team in track and ran a 4.3. And y’all have two of them. Props to Lowndes. And yes, we have the three D1 kids, along with 12 others. If I only knew as much as you. the info i have about the 40 times has come from players and coached on the lowndes team………so if you also have a gripe vike92 then go ask yourself and then you can come back on here and tell me i was right……..i am lowndes viking to the core through and through……..i keep up with the football team as much if not more than anyone……tiquan lang and nick burgman are both extremely fast……and both have ran the 40 in under 4.4 or else someone is lying……..

region 1- 6a is alot tougher than alabama lol. He has ZERO titles from this region. Heck coach Mac has a title from FLA in Madison but we aint talkin bout that. We talkin about from region 1 6a. 3 titles. Threein four years. Thats a dynasty buddy. So quit talkin about 5 titles he had else where please. Thank you.

Colquitt has always had the talent to hang w anybody, it’s just the matter of finding a competent coach. Keep living in the past guys. We’ve made a title game and two other final fours the last three years with Lowndes no where to be seen. Again, there’s not a fan in this state that would choose Lowndes program over Colquitt right now.

yea there are several fans who would………yall have 0 titles …….we have made the playoffs every every year propst has been your coach…….yall have made it only 3 …..the goal is to win the title….and yall havent done that…..
and yall have not always had the talent…….colquitt has had more talent the last 3 years than they had ever had 5 to 7 years prior

lowndes has not been what we were during the 04-09 run……..but we arent far from it………the body of work lowndes has put in over the last decade is far more impressive than colquitts……
colquitt fan…….come back in about 7 more years………lets see how many titles yall have……lowndes also has 6 or 7 region titles under coach mac to go with those titles……long way to go bud……sorry

No doubt y’all had a fantastic run, Camden has had some good ones. Colquit did when we had Hughes, as did Valdosta. Point is, this is a talent rich area where many teams can be great w coaching. But if you can’t give Propst and Colquitt props on the playoff run they’ve had the last few years then you’re just a blind homer. We’ve had more road playoff victories the last few seasons than most teams in their history. It took Propst I believe one 6-4 season after a 2-8 season to have his team in the final four.

colquitt fan……….colquitt is a good football program..i am not denying that……but i dont like your coach……its not bc he doesnt know the game of football……but not many people like a smart a** and he is very mouthy……there is not arguing that yall have won some playoff games the last few years and made it deep in the playoffs……..hey …….i tip my hat to my vikings last year for going on the road tand beating a stpehenson team loaded with d 1 talent on both sides of the ball…….holding mike davis (at florida now) to under 100 yds rushing and only allowing stephenson to cross the 50 1 time all night………this was the same stephenson team that put up 49 on mlk the week before and loss 50-49…….mlk also beat valdosta…something yall didnt do……last year was a weir year…we spanked coffee………they beat valdosta….valdosta beat us in the last min…….then we lossed to yall and yall loss to valdosta…….this region is tougher now than ever bc you guys are no longer a doormat in this region nor is valdosta and tift and coffee will be better soon also bc of the new coahces they have and now we have camden…look out
lowndes has pretty much owned the last deaced in this region…….7 region titles….and 3 state titles……

valdosta is the most winningist high school football team in the country and i am proud for them…..i have lived in valdosta/lowndes county all my life……….after all ESPN didnt call us”TITLETOWN” for no reason……….and its the home of Winnersville also!!!!!!

ok…….i have been on here enough without saying anything……….i listen to bksmith14…..nghso9…fred…battleaxekid(lol)……squirrel….and all the colquitt supporters and i sit back and analyze it all……..BKSMITH14…..he needs to be a football talk show host..i get tickled listening to this guy….he is right a lot of the time but he is funny in how he comes back to most all you who dish it out on him………..LOL…..
i will say this……..The lowndes vikings have a lot of speed……….every back they have runs the 40 4.6 or less………and burgam and lang are consisten 4.5 guys who have run it under 4.4 once each…..accoriding to several sources……….They have one of the best Lb in the state in #17 tre jackson …..he is prob second behing colquitt john gray…now #14……Lowndes secondary has a good bit of experience also and #2 lang i will be covering hill when colquitt plays them i can assure you…that will be a matchup to watch….
Lowndes goes 8-2…gets the #2 or # 3 seed
Valdosta…….arguably going to have the best offense ion the region this year as they return almost the entire offense from last year….lost almost everyone on defense……ware county had about 120 yds rushing against them……but they held them to 10 points granted ware is nowhere near the team they were last year……Valdosta will be good…..how good? time will tell
i say the cats go 8-2 or 7-3 and they either get the #2 or # 3 seed as well
Camden county…….with brice ramsey and jj green returning……..look out……i see these guys battliig it out with colquitt for the region title…….although Lowndes and valdosta may have something to say abuout it…….but for now i am going with these 2..camden lost a lot also so they will have to reload which they do pretty well most of the time
Colquitt county…….Ol controversial coach prospt will have these boys ready by playoff time…….they have lost a lot and they have several guys hobbling around right now with hannging injuries and one os their best playmaker (hill…plnatr warts on foot..ouch) and ward south florida cb committ i believe has a hip flexor injury……and they have lost a kew offenseve lineman and dalton dillon has been hurt…..with that said they will be good and contend for the region again like last year
tift and coffee……….will be much improved and will have the potential to pull an upset if taken lightly

Actually our team is kinda young. While we do lose those guys, we still have a lot. The people we lose have more than capable back ups that we bring back. Propst said we have upwards to 15 D1 players on our roster. We’ll have another senior QB in Daniel Mobley who played some last year and will see some action this year. Colquitt isn’t going anywhere for a while. The only spot that might concern is WR, but we always have somebody step up there.

colquitt will no be going anywhere……..but yall will not be as good next year…….like i said…….and i agree with footballguru…..yall had your best shot last year and you still have enough left to make anothr run…….
mobley is not as good as cole….although he is solid……no doubt…….
