Did you really say that Paul Oliver had a minimal impact at UGA? Just wow…. Kregg Lumpkin, Sean Bailey, and Paul Oliver all contributed at UGA. Mitchell played at USCjr. and McKinzey was at Auburn, I believe.

I think Oliver had more than minimal impact.

Lumpkin and Oliver have done some good things in the league. Mckinzey went to Georgia but shoulder problems limited his potential. Beast in HS!

Its funny how you look at that list and 1/2 these kids mad no impact at the collage level and a kid out Cherokee high school named JASON FOSTER took Sean Baily and made him look stupid one Friday turn down offers from Ga and GT causes he wanted to play QB went to GA Southen and holds most yards rushing and most TD had record of 6 in one game and then went on to win the Walter Paton award in collage and then eventual got drafted in the pro funny how politics drive thus list just like the world

I would have liked to see a “Where are they now” if you’re going to publish the list.

His name is actually Jayson Foster. Those were some spectacular teams that Dameron put together back in the day. Too bad Cherokee fell of the map with all the other high schools in Cherokee County diluting the pool… I can remember watching Jayson and Astin Foster run magic out of that wing T- those were good times!
Watch out for the Elbert County Blue Devils this year! Maybe Tyshon Dye will make the ‘political’ list this season but I doubt it since Elbert isn’t in the metro… If you ever get a chance to watch a game in the Granite Bowl take the trip- it’s the best place to watch a high school game in the state of Georgia!
Go Devils! Go Grizzlies!!

Rather than just posting the names, why not write a little bit about how their careers ended up?

Paul Oliver pretty much shut down Calvin Johnson. That’s a favorable highlight on the ole’ resume.

Sean Dawkins was a beast for 3 solid years for Parkview and those 3 state championships! Should have been a super 11 instead of McKinzey! Truth be told David Overmeyer was just as good on the OL. Zeb got it because he committed to UGA, politics as usual!

What a STUPID Look Back when you don’t tell us what they did in college or the NFL.
I guess since we don’t know most of their names then they didn’t do crap in the NFL and just a little in college.

With Watson, that was the last time NSHS had a decent football team.
