Championship QB Lamb leads Class AA preseason all-state team

Taylor Lamb, the Calhoun quarterback who led his team to a state championship while passing for 3,638 yards in 2011, leads the Georgia High School Football Daily/Atlanta Journal-Constitution Class AA preseason all-state team.

It also includes running backs Voltair Driver and George Myers, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season, and Juan Foster, who ran for 1,500 in 2010 but suffered a season-ending injury in 2011.

Several are top prospects this season. Pepperell offensive lineman Andy Dodd has committed to LSU. Westminster kicker Harrison Butker is going to Georgia Tech. We have Butker listed as both place-kicker and punter.

Each preseason all-state team will feature 26 players. Aside from the 22 regular starting positions and two specialists, there are two wild card picks that might appear at any position, often listed as ATH for athlete.
