Maxwell computer ratings, projected records for AAA, AA and A teams

On Wednesday, we listed the Maxwell Ratings’ projected finish and record for teams in the three largest classifications. We finish up today with the projections for Class AAA, AA and A teams.

Remember that computer rankings tell us what history says about the current season. Using history as our guide, this is what the 2012 season might look like. Note that the projected W-L records are rounded to whole numbers. That explains why total region records might not equal .500.

The ratings are compiled by Loren Maxwell, who has been involved with sports ratings since 1986. Maxwell is an avid sports historian and the founder of the Georgia High School Football Historians Association. Currently, he is an active duty officer in the Air Force as an instructor at the Air Force Institute of Technology.

Is there any place to find game-by-game predictions? I’d really like to see which games my team is predicted to win and lose.

For transplants, no that isn’t a typo, Buford 94.81. This year could be more embarrassing than ever. And no, they don’t recruit because the name recruits itself. What parents wouldn’t want a free private school? But please, next year, try to play a national opponent again, or a Georgia power. Anything to make the 4th quarter worth staying for!

These rankings are laughable. Blessed Trinity 6-4 overall? Give me a break. They’ll be undefeated this year going into the St. Pius game. Move over St. Pius, we are the best Catholic School in the Metro Atlanta area and that goes for both football and the AAA Director’s Cup Overall. You heard it hear first, in August. Titan Power!

@ Pioneer – you’re delusional re: your comments re: Buford. Buford doesn’t “recruit?” Give me a break man! Buford Football recruits like there ain’t no tomorrow and only gets away with it because of their city school provision. If Buford was the great school you claim it is academically and all around athletically, then they would be competitive for the Director’s Cup, which they NEVER HAVE BEEN. Even in their heyday football years along with a few other sports years, Buford still does not even place in the Top 10 All Around Athletic Programs in the State in their classification. High School sports is supposed to be about developing and winning with “your kids” in “your district” not winning by building an “All Zip Code” Team and claim it as your own.” Check out the kids who have been successful at Buford and gone on to play D1 ball. We all know none of them grew up in the city limits of Buford. Buford’s Jr. Program is feared by no one and many have called their High School Varsity Team the “Boyd (a la Milton Basketball) of Football.”

Buford does not have to recruit…you build it they will come. And brother let me tell you they have built it through facilities, support, tradition, etc. All of the intangibles are in place for success year in and out regardless of classification. I have followed the program for several years and as a former coach myself, there have been years where 11 on 11 they would be the best team in the state bar none. Depth would be an issue for say 4A and above. I know the coaching staff personally and they don’t contact anyone. If a parent contacts them, all is fair at that point.
