AAAAA: All-state watch list

Below is a list of some of the better players in Class AAAAA this season. It has the makings of a Watch List.

On Friday, GHSF Daily and will publish the first of six preseason all-state teams (Class A) The other five classifications will follow next week.

The purpose of this list is to solicit opinions from readers on some of the state’s best players. The players listed here are just some of the ones that have come to our attention through 2011 all-state nominations, recruiting services and other correspondence.

We understand that many who should be on this list are not, and that some on this list might not belong.

Let this be a conversation starter, nothing more. Who are we missing?

How bout we add to the list by putting the
players who have offers at your school? I know there are MANY not litsted on here that should be. So, maybe this will be a good way to put players on here that are CLEARLY missing.

Thanks, Percy. Did not know that. He had a good chance of being first team all-state here.

Added the Tucker and Northside players.

Wondering where you get your list from. Kell High School is good but to have 4 DB’s on the list just does not make sense. Sounds like a little pre-season promoting going on by the Kell Coaching Staff. How do you validate your names or do you ?

Watch out for Zach Sullivan this 2012 football season. He is a wide reciever at Northview High (Johns Creek) School. He’s a beast. He transferred from Walton High School.

How about Kyler Neal #30 from East Paulding, he already has 2 D1 offers, and continues to get recruited from others! Very impressive player on both sides of the ball!

Holcomb , how could you miss Northside Warner Robins RB Curtis Martin , as a junior 113/873/15 with a 7.7 avg. Total yards may not match up with the other kids on the list , Martin was splitting carries with Polk who was a 1000 yard rusher. This kid is the #1 for the Eagles this year. Power ,break away speed ,vision .This kid may surpass all of the backs out of Northside over the last 15 or so years. He will be the #1 back out of Georgia at seasons end, and you heard it from me first. . Mad props to you for recognizing Northside defenders Levine , Payne, Roberts and Chatfield . Having these four on the field together on defense is a DC’s dream.

South Paulding is not even good. No way they have that many players who could make all state. Their coach likes to try and pimp his players but has yet to do anything at South Paulding; he has a lot of connections with the Scout/Rivals guys but not much talent.

Todd, here is one you might want to think about on your next list. Caleb Hayman 6′2″ 200lb WR from Gainesville H.S. played in only 4 games last year, in the State quarter finals and semi finals against Sandy Creek and Burke County. He amassed 17 catches, 233 yards and 5 touchdowns in those two games. He has verbally committed to South Alabama. Hopefully he will be on your next list.

Two other guys to watch from Northview this year would be Austin Antwine (LB) and Matt Clover (OL). Both started every game as Sophomores last year and both were named to their All Region and All Area teams as well.

Gamer, why hate so early in the game. Is this how you want to start a conversation, hating on football teams. Whatever the record Stephenson produces more college prospects than any other school in the State of Georgia. So, please let’s be positive and wish every team in the State of Georgia the best 2012 football season. You might check your spelling before submitting “theirs to LOOSE”, I think you meant “lose”. Love me some football.
