AAAAA: All-state watch list

Below is a list of some of the better players in Class AAAAA this season. It has the makings of a Watch List.

On Friday, GHSF Daily and will publish the first of six preseason all-state teams (Class A) The other five classifications will follow next week.

The purpose of this list is to solicit opinions from readers on some of the state’s best players. The players listed here are just some of the ones that have come to our attention through 2011 all-state nominations, recruiting services and other correspondence.

We understand that many who should be on this list are not, and that some on this list might not belong.

Let this be a conversation starter, nothing more. Who are we missing?

JAG4Life: Don’t be upset—everyone will get their chance at making fun. As far as me mis-spelling a word, WOW! Wait until the season starts and you read this blog. You will spent half your time making corrections. This is all in fun.

Watch for “The Stork” 6′6″ Matt Delaney PK/P for Glynn Academy. Great last season. Worked hard during off season to improve strength and Hangtimes.

Reese, Do you know who he is? A friend of mine was talking to one of the coaches and told him about the QB.

NSWR QB Glen Smith will be good. He is a run first QB but is an effective short passer(now). In a straight track run he would beat Chansi. What he doesn’t have is Chansi’s quickness. Just my opinion.

A healthy Kamani Thomas and Mitchell Webb will be fun to watch this year. It should allow Miles Hemphill to show off that leg.

Gamer , Lots of raw talent Smith has. The options on offense , The Eagles Defense and the Strength of schedule , he’ll have time to mature. Which won’t take long.By the start of the playoffs or maybe earlier ,he’ll be in top form.

PK Vince Sciorrotta: The spelling of the last name needs one more R but this kid is definitely one to watch. I am sure the longer the season goes on the more people will get the spelling right.

Todd, thanks for adding Caleb Hayman to your list. Looks like he will pick up from what he did at the end of the year in the playoffs. In the pre season game on Friday he had 5 catches, 60 plus yards and 2 touchdowns in the first and only quarter of play.
