Congrats to Alan Chadwick, Marist head coach about to start his 28th season, who will get his 300th win this year (now at 299). With 2 state championships and an 85% career winning percentage, he is among the most successful coaches in Georgia history.

Alan, why not play a Westminster and or a St.Pius? Afraid that Romberg and Standard will school you?

Well, St. Pius refused to play Marist this year and next, so maybe you should ask them about being “afraid.” As for Westminster — HAHAHA. Marist starts this year with three non-region games: Clarke-Central; Thomas County Central; and Lovett, and then plays its region schedule. Only an idiot thinks that Westminster is a harder game than those non-region teams.

To any fan of Marist:

Only a complete ass thinks that playing Romberg and Westminster would be easy…Chadwick has been ducking Westminster for several years now…as Romberg would throw a defense at Chadwick that is a helluva lot tougher than Lovett, and Chadwick knows this all too well. Marist will not even line up and scrimmage Westminster anymore…Westminster does not have the football talent that Marist has, but it would more than make up for it with superior technique and a better scheme defensively than Marist would see all year!

So you can kiss my dead ass War Eagle…as I have forgotten more about Marist football than you would ever care to learn in 50 years!

What a joke — I think you just know nothing abut football. But fine, Westminster has the finest scheme and coaches in all of Georgia and Marist has been hiding throughout all the years to avoid playing the Cats by scheduling games against Tucker, SWD, Mays, TCC, Clarke-Central and other programs who aspire to be like Westminster.

If you were talking the 90’s there would be no argument…. but in the 2000 marist has probably had one of the most difficult schedule in the state. The question should be… if westminster is in atlanta, why don’t they schedule some of those teams marist has played i.e mays, westlake, creekside? Why don’t westminster play up so marist can’t duck them ?

In their last 20 games, Marist is 17-3 vs Westminster. Westminster is a great school and has a nice little football program, but don’t kid yourself in thinking Marist is ducking your school.

@THEX — you are confusing the scheduling issue last cycle with these next two years. Last two years, Marist played an all region schedule so could not play SPX. SPX and Marist both had room this season (and next) to play several out of region games, but SPX said no. Too bad, but not worth going nuts over.

That’s not the story we heard, War Eagle. I can’t imagine why Standard would decline the challenge after the last several matchups. I can imagine why Marist would.

Right, after going 30-3 or so, I’m sure Marist is ducking Pius!
