By Score Atlanta
Pierce County 17, Lovett 7: After each team scored five runs by the top of the third inning, Pierce County seized control of the game when Drew Taylor connected on a three-run home run. After Lovett tried to bounce back, Nate Gay drilled a home run to push the lead to 12-7. The Lions squandered a bases-loaded chance in the fifth, and the Bears took advantage of two bases-loaded situations to pull away against the Lovett bullpen.
Pierce County advanced to the Class AA state finals, where it will host Appling County.

Wasn’t ejected, just restricted to the dugout. Threw a no-hitter in Game One against Lovett.
And arguing a bad call isn’t good sportsmanship, but it isn’t dirty play.

Pierce definitely plays dirty. Did you see their uniforms by the end of the game…..while the rich pretty boys were making sure everything was still in place.

Nice article in Sports Illustrated on Appling’s Buck Buxton, could be this years first pick in the Baseball draft.

Both teams deserve to be there, they won when they had to. I’d give AC the edge.

So Pierce County plays dirty, huh? Lovett is the one who recruits! Wouldn’t you call that dirty play? Got a tip for you – if you want to see some real baseball this weekend, drive down to Appling County and see two teams with homegrown talent !

I am so proud of both of these home grown high school baseball teams. The journey they have made this year, athletically and academically. I am looking forward to Saturday’s games and pray that fans and players and coaches will represent their schools, towns and homes with pride. The state will be watching and we need to show the Christ that lives in our hearts and good sportsmanship. Good Luck Appling and Pierce County and God bless both teams with no injuries!
