Gosh, we almost got a whole paragraph! Congratulations to Parkview, it’s players, their coaches & ever-faithful fans!!! I guess we’ll have to sweep Brookwood to get the gaudy write-up they got.

So true! The PROFESSIONAL writer who wrote Brookwood’s article even “forgot” about a Parkview baseball state title, not a small detail at all. Since Parkview won 45 in a row and 3 straight football titles (and 2 baseball titles in 2001, 2002), anyone that is not from Lilburn or lives there HATES Parkview. Sadly, the only people who have any respect for Parkview is their arch rival Brookwood. You think that may be because they are the most successful athletic programs in Gwinnett history that have become state powers? I do. Gwinnett struggled at the state level until the mid-late 90’s. People loved to bash them then, laugh that they struggled. Now, people hate Gwinnett teams. As a Lilburn resident, I am glad that the baseball title will be vs Brookwood. The only people who any respect for orange and maroon are each other. Play with pride.

Dear Phil: Thank you for posting these pooths of my home town. It is hauntingly familiar and yet stunningly strange to see the changes wrought through the years. We lived there from 1959 1973. I was very touched to see Agnes Semmler’s grave marker in one of your pooths. We knew her well. Thank you again for the memories.
