I am so happy for and proud of the Southwest Dekalb Lady Panthers and their coaches. This was my daughter’s last county championship..bittersweet. Being a part of such a great program has prepared her well for her college career.

Stone Mountain let Cedar Grove 4×4 off the hook. Coach was experimenting with a leg. The Mile Party will be at Region though in full effect. But hats off to them CG boys. Coach Bonner and Coach Nicholas do a great job.

Tamarick Johnson didnt run the 200 last year in county either and ended up winning State. I would be concerned if you dont see him region time, but dont panic about county.

@Moniette Wells: I believe the word you’re looking for is “retraction,” not “rebuttal,” and yes, the post has been corrected and updated with McEachern’s 40.95 instead of Creekside’s 40.96. It would be great to see these two squads face each other before their respective region meets but I don’t think it will happen.

Thanks for reading!

Maybe they will meet at State Championships this year. By the way, the post still shows Creekside.

@McEachernTrackMOM: Unfortunately, the two teams cannot meet at State because they compete in two different classifications. McEachern is in AAAAA while Creekside competes in AAAA, where they are the defending 400 meter champions and set the state record last season at 41.13, which both of your squads have already surpassed this season. But state records can only be recorded at the State Meet, so it will be fun to see which one of your squads will break the record. You all have the advantage because the events are run in order from Class A to AAAAA, so your boys will get a chance to watch Creekside go before them and set the mark for them to beat.

And the blog has been corrected this time.

You are absolutely correct Mr. Coleman, they ARE in different classes. Oh well, I guess we will see who will have the best score. And thanks for the updated post. :)
