Todd :
Dodge County girls are in the state tournament. They are the 3 seed from Region 3-AA and travel to Putnam County on Friday. Now a big story to me is Dublin boys ( a perennial powerhouse ) did not make the state tournament.

Correction – This will be the Alpharetta Girls third straight trip to the State playoffs. The Boys are making their first trip in school history.

Sorry, I misunderstood Becky’s information. Dodge County has the longest active streak of making the state playoffs (not the longest one that was ended). And Alpharetta is in.

Check out the website – http://www.ghsbp.com/

Has tournament brackets back to 1922.

Actually the Dodge County Girls Basketball team has been the state tournament 28 of the past 29 years including 21 straight years since 1992 and 41 times in the schools 54 year history….. including 22 region championships, six state runner-ups finishes, seven final four finishes and four state championships and all under just three head coaches in school history, Bob Davis, Dick Kelly and Carol Smith…..

Effingham high boys has a real good team and will make it far in the state tournment. with standout player Jakeene Grant a 6′8 sophmore who is already ranked in the top 5 in his class its going to be a good run for them but they are young so you will be seeing a lot more of this team.

Congratulations to West Forsyth girls. They are #4 in Region 6 AAAAA, but they are building a program under Seth Chadwick. A team to watch next year for sure. Seth played at Marist and is doing an incredible job at WF.

Dodge’s Bob Davis was one of the most outstanding coaches in GA HS history. Most of his best work was prior to Title IX and he left the cupboard in outstanding order for Dick Kelly. Great to see Davis mentioned here.
