@ Gwinnette Fan. To answer your question, does anyone think there defense matches up with with Grayson displayed last night? Yes, Camden County does. As I stated before, Walton is a ” Softy ” and that whole region a softy. Camden pummeled both Marietta and S. Cobb……not saying very much as both quit in the 3rd Q. It was indeed unfortunate that Camden/Grayson did not play. Without a doubt the two best teams in the state probably, after all is said and done.

To everyone on the Gwinnett vs.Region 1 and the world debate, in my opinion the only point to be proven is that the demographics in the state have impact and reflects in the concentration of talent (mainly African American males) to specific areas to produce winning HS teams.
You can continue to debate whether south teams have done more than north, when they did it, and under what generational circumstances and it will all boil down to where these populations gather and their children attend school. The north GA athlete is really no different than the south GA athlete, it is just a matter of where a large segment of these families are located. Back in the day, it was the agricultural south, in the last decades is metro/sub Atlanta and that is consistent to what the debate is. The number of schools, number of residents, and number of championships are closely related to the number of championships I would guess, I maybe wrong, but that is just my thoughts on the matter.

Why are people on here still talking about teams after that team lost? What til next year then you can debate who is the best team. Until then congrats to:
Grayson 5-A
Tucker 4-A
Burke County 3-A
Calhoun 2-A
1-A?

@iTiSi – you are basing your crowd comments based on what you saw on TV. I can tell you the 5A game was VERY well attended on both sides. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were 16-18,000 people or more there. Not too many high school stadiums can hold that. The dome is just so big that it it can be deceptive on the number of people there. At times last night, both sides were making a lot of noise and it could be heard.
To me, they need to start earlier in the day and allow more time between games. It was crazy trying to move to our seats with the BC fans coming out. They, of course and understandably, were not in a hurry to leave. The congestion was awful. The dome staff was trying to get the incoming fans to go to the end zone and that makes sense if the game and presentation is not over but this was while our teams were on the field warming up long after things were over for the game before us.

Jack-good idea-let Buford play some of the top classification teams.First to keep things even we will need to reduce(randomly)the larger school by about 60% to even up the field according to the student base(I beleive thats why there are classes for high school sports). Then have at it-good luck.Again I am not a Buford fan-I support a AAA(AAAAnext year)school with a very competitive program but no big threat for many of the state crowns.

Man, it has been a long season! Hard to believe that 16 weeks ago we playing a scrimmage. I have never seen a team so focused to the point that they didn’t want pep rallies, didn’t want TV coverage, didn’t want to be team of the week, just wanted to play the game that week and move on. The coaches did a great job getting the team ready and the team did a great job executing. It was a team effort even though there were some outstanding individuals that were a part of the team. We played a lot of really good teams on our trek to 15-0 and are the better for it. Congratulations RAMS!!!!
City schools get unfair advantage

I think all city schools should have to play each other regardless of where they are located. Same for private schools. Can’t believe more people don’t speak up about this. City and county schools play by different rules. They should NEVER be in the same region. Regardless of class size.

@Fred – well, congratulations one more time. As I said earlier in the year, Mickey Conn brought his good friend Dabo Swinney to our church a few years ago, and both spoke. I can’t help but like both of them, of course, except when Clemson plays UGA, or Grayson plays Brookwood.

IMO, the match up should have been Camden vs Grayson or Colquitt vs Grayson in the 2012 Corky Kell Classic! It would have produced more of a buzz and more excitement in the off season!

@iTiSi – of course, until recently, the finals WERE at played at a home field, with the semi-finals at the dome. Some folks from Texas say ALL playoff games should be played at neutral sites. Is this the 2nd or 3rd year for the finals in the dome? In Ohio, the last couple of rounds are played at neutral sites. All goes to show, that no matter what is done, there’s going to be somebody that says it should be done differently.

Lovejoy fans should be ashamed of themselves for not showing up to support their good football team. That’s just sorry! You all are not even that far from the dome!

Savannah Christian showed what real punks they are ,leading 20-3 with about 2 mins left in the game and they still try to score another touchdown to jack the score up. Then took a knee with 30 sec left but they should have done it that whole series. Donald Chumpley showed his true colors. I’m glad ur not my champs.
