HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL THURSDAYS ON WSB-TV
WSB-TV/Channel 2 and PlayON! Sports in cooperation with the Georgia High School Association announce a new night for exclusive high school football “Game of the Week” coverage.
Games will air live on Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 2.2, WSB-TV’s second digital channel. Fans can also watch games live on wsbtv.com and watch the rebroadcast Friday nights at 1:06 a.m. on Channel 2.

One tragic note. Lowndes leading rusher, Mike Moore, and his family suffered a total loss of their home to fire this week. Our Touchdown Club is trying to raise funds to help them.

TIft dosen’t generally play anyone hard but Lowndes. last week Valdosta used a passing attack to defeat Tifton. IT IS EVIDENT FROM THE LOWNDES -VALDOSTA GAME THAT LOWNDES HAS VERY LITTLE PASSING ATTACK, SO, THIS IS A WATCH OUT GAME. TIFT WILL PUT 9 MEN IN THE BOX ( 9 man front) AND FORCE LOWNDES TO THROW, BUT, LOWNDES CAN’T THROW. When all is said and done, one has to give a HUGE amount of credit to Grayson students, who have now initiated a video contest prior to T. H. E. big game tonight. They came up with the idea back in August, the AJC story relates, and released their video mid-month. The Bronco students have replied, but only as of Wednesday. Now, of course, this contest ISN’T the contest on the field, but I think it’s a safe bet that when I get to Grayson’s stadium, the spirit in the air will be really something.
Are we in a new era? So, Camden, Lowndes, Valdosta, McEachern, Hillgrove, Peachtree Ridge, Stephenson, MLK and North Gwinnett (I know I left somebody out, and they’ll be angry at me), get your video squad going! Time is a wasting! To get that ring, you must learn to swing! (I figure that the Camden video will eventually be the best video ever made, which will win an Oscar in Hollywood! But you can also count on Camden thinking the north GA folks unfairly criticized their video).
Regardless, Grayson by 7+ and the rainy forecast appears wrong (we were supposed to have showers all day), weather looks good.

@VIKINGDAD – You picked those first two games like this is a normal season in 1-5A. It sure hasn’t been so far. I think you’re too wide in the Lowndes/Tifton contest and everyone seems to be forgetting. The Trojans are going to win tonight. The Trojans have never won a 1-5A region title outright. They shared a three way tie in 2002 with The Viks and Valdosta. But their last outright region title was in 1982 when they were competing in region 3AAAA.
It’s almost prophetic that they win tonight since it seems this may very well be the last season for Coffee in 1-AAAAA. It’s looking like they are going to move into 3-AAAAA with Camden next year. That will certainly take some getting use to. It’s only fitting that the Trojans end their time in 1-AAAAA with an outright region championship!

In the early game at Grady, St. Pius defeated Washington 7-0. Washington dominated the 2nd half but the St. Pius defense held when it had to. Pius moves to 9-0 and hosts the region championship game next Friday.

@ let the young men play: My ups go out to Buford, But after years of cutting through AA like a hot knife on butter, where is the pride when you are playing in unchallenged AA. Nothing against all those teams, I respect all the work all those kids put into football, but it’s obvious your program is much stronger. Buford now needs to move up in classification like some other schools have, though they are smaller populated schools. As Buford fans, you guys should welcome real challenges, if you could play and hang with the bigger boys, your cries of superiority will be heard and the blog world will show a bit more respect.

ATLViking – Pius had a great defensive stand inside their own 10-yard-line in the fourth quarter. With the exception of two big runs by Geno Smith, Washington’s defense shut us down for most of the game.

I still have a lot of friends in the administration at Pius and keep in touch. I have a son at Allatoona so it was interesting when Pius and Allatoona played in the first round of the playoffs last year. We were definitely a house divided.

Wow Walton. Marietta lost their QB in the 1st quarter I believe to some type of leg/ankle/knee injury. Not sure what, but that is a huge loss for them in the game. Also sounds like they have shot themselves in the foot a couple times.
Definitely watch out for Walton though.

Fridaynight: We are talking AJC blog, there are umpteen blogs out there, but this is the AJC. My point is that before last week it seems like the EP score was updated after every score, not saying it was you, but it was. Then last week conveniently, there was not one update posted throuighout the game against Pope. Then as they go back to winning again, there it appeared, updates after every score. I guess everybody was conveniently out doing something last week and couldn’t blog on the AJC BLOG.

Walton looked stout tonight. Won 42-14 after leading 42-0 at halftime. Marietta scored their 1st TD on a block punt returned for a TD in the 3rd and scored again in the 4th quarter against the reserves. Tyren Jones had ~170-175 yards on ~17-18 carries in the 1st half with 3 rushing TDs and 1 receiving TD. He didn’t play in the 2nd half due to the score. Walton’s defense looked very good.

@AtlViking – yes, it was a highly spirited game. Brookwood outplayed Grayson in the 2nd half after Grayson dominated the 1st half. I would have tried to run out the clock in my own end, rather than pass. But so it goes. The Broncos have nothing to be ashamed of. Grayson did NOTHING offensively in the 2nd half. The game was pretty much as I expected – ball control and eat the clock.

I agree. In the 1st half even though they kept getting penalties Grayson was moving the ball and looked in control, Brookwood didn’t get to run many plays at all in the 1st half.
2nd half Brookwood looked much better and Grayson did nothing. I kinda hated to see that play decide it, OT would have been fun.

@grayram – amazing how the Broncos only had the ball twice in the 1st half, and one of those possessions was a 3 & out. The 1st half TD drive was sure assisted by the personal foul, which I couldn’t see. Pass protection for Brookwood was good until that play at the end. I told my friend we should run out the clock, if Grayson wouldn’t stop it. Oh well, big mistake, but a lot of healthy spirit. Was glad to be there.

Great coaches win with average talent; average coaches win with great talent. Grayson has the latter. Worst coached game I’ve seen in years. Grayson should have beat Brookwood by four touchdowns. Grayson dominated the first half and Brookwood dominated the second half. Grayson coached as if they were playing on egg shells. Grossly over-rated but then so is Georgia high school football.

I thought Grayson would win by a couple TD’s, but I forgot this was Brookwood vs Grayson lol. Brookwood lost in a crappy way, but this game just proves that Brookwood is still a VERY good team. I jumped out of my chair and yelled when Brookwood’s TE rumbled his way into the endzone. The Broncos will be a force in the playoffs just watch.

@ All Colquitt fans – Excellent game. As a full-time fan I could not help but talk up the Trojans prior to the game. With that said I was not surprised by the outcome of the game. Probst is the coachinest coach I have ever watched. He plays harder than the players and plays the entire 48 minutes. Hope all of ya’ll made it home safely. At least we have the playoffs to look forward to.
I can’t wait to listen to the Valdosta bloggers holler about Colquitt cheating next week. You watch. it will start just about the time Colquitt is going in for their second score. And third. And forth …

Almost missed the game as I had a sudden work commitment that had me in SE Atlanta at 5:00PM! Thought about watching on TV but boy am I glad I went. Announced attendance just under 11,000. See S GA, we *can* show up for games!
We looked really good during the first half. It was classic Grayson ball control with some passing mixed in. The Brookwood D was really strong but then so was ours. Brookwood had some great pass plays but mostly seemed to not be able to move the ball on the ground. For us to have been such a good second half team this year, it was like we turned into a turtle and pulled our head in our shell and got way too conservative and predictable.
We had too many penalties in both halves again. I didn’t say before the game but I really expected it to be close – no more than 1 score differential.
The Brookwood band is huge and really good as many have said. They played “where you at?” after the game and it was really funny how many of the parents were singing along. Overall, one of the more exciting games to be at in person. This has turned into a very strong rivalry and I hope it continues. For those watching on TV, you missed a lot.

Lowndes dominated on defense tonight. I think we had 6 sacks . We missed two field goals and we also fumbled on tifts 15 yd line late in 4th. i will take a 21 point victory and a shutout though. Tift always plays lowndes hard………..we shut them out at home on Senior night with their season on the line.
Lowndes will get the loser of the stephenson ….mlk game in 1st rd. It doesnt matter to me……….we can beat either one if we show up and play viking football.
Colquitt will beat valdosta by at least 2 tds. Only team that can beat colquitt right now is colquitt.

If Colquitt plays like they did against Lowndes and like it sounds like they did against Coffee (I did not see that game, but I listened to much of it on 93.9), the Cats will have their hands full next Friday. If the Cats play as well as they did against Lincoln and as well as they did in 2nd half against Lowndes, the fans will be in for a great game. If we lose I hope our defense can hold the Pack to fewer than 33 points so we will hold on to 2nd seed. One thing I’m sure of, Coach Gillespie will have the Cats ready to play.

You guys decided to play not to lose in the 2nd half, while the Cats continued to play to win. At all levels of any sport, when a team plays not to lose, they give a big advantage to team that will not give up but continues to play to win. Put that one on your coaches. On that night, Lowndes was not the team Valdosta was.

We use players that live in lowndes….valdosta……dont go out of state to get players that are to old in ala but yet can play in ga.

57 cat………lowndes is better than valdosta……we did however play conservative in the last qtr of the game. It was a combination of luck……not giving up and everything goin right that had to go right for the cats and everything going wrong for lowndes that had to for vhs to pull it off. Caoches made poor decisions late in game also.

a team like maceachern will match up well against colquitt. you will have to throw to beat colquitt. They can be beat as they have already lost 16-8 to warner robins. However they have a fairly wasy road if they lock up the 1 seed.

I might be bringing up a can of worms when I type this, but I’ll note that Region 8-AAAAA rotates in the playoffs playing 5-AAAAA, 6-AAAAA & 7-AAAAA.. But Gwinnett regions 7-AAAAA & 8-AAAAA never play 2-AAAAA in the first round, even though they’re right next door. I just wondered why the region numbers were made the way they were. Otherwise, Gwinnett might see a lot more of Stephenson & MLK.

Grayson was lucky to pull that out last nite. In what was one of the biggest bone headed play calling, Grayson goes on it on 4th down on their own side of the ball they let Nkimdche do it again but remember 5×200 lbs. beats 1 guy at 270 any day when they tackle high and low.That is where brookwood should have driven in and won, Grayson was lucky to have gotten away with that one.When Grayson meets anyone with an explosive offense they will be done. They are big and strong but their play calling seem 3 yards and a cloud of dust no imagination, again.

Hats off to Walton, an outstanding team on both sides of the ball. They will surprise some people in the playoffs. Tough loss for Marietta in more ways than the score. On the first play Jennings threw a 40 yard pass and took a late hit which gave Marietta 15 more yards and Jennings a concussion, out for the game after only one play. Hope he won’t be out as long as Georgia’s receiver with a concussion. Marietta played the rest of the way with a receiver (who had played QB as a freshman) trying to throw in the rain against a great defense. No chance. Look for the Raiders to make some noise in the coming weeks. they would have won regardless but a dry field and Jennings would have made it a lot more entertaining.

@ fred…i understand that bwood / grayson is a rivalry game…..but bwood is a mediocre team,,,,a team grayson should of won easily,,,,not in the closing seconds,,,,then it was off a bwood mistake….its some great teams in the playoffs this year ,,thats better than brookwood,,,,,so doesnt that make grayson a little vulnerable,,,,i wdnt go 2 the extreme & say yall are overrated likke ppl said colquitt was when we lost 2 wr,,,,,but now i guess everybody can see a different team since the wr loss…wr was our eyeopener,,,,,so my ???? is was bwood yall eyeopener,,,,bc that game could of went either way…so ppl are thinking that after grayson performance last night that yall arent the team 2 beat….. im not taking anything from grayson,,,great fb team,,,but last night wasnt the same grayson team we been seeing all year…… to all the # 1 & 2 seeds……….just bc you get a couple home games in round 1 & 2 dont think you cant get beat in your own house,,,,any team that is taking lightly will slip up on you …best of luck 2 all the taems in the playoffs,,,,,goooooo pack

@MADDBALL – not necessarily. Brookwood won the state last year putting 52 on Colquitt and 45 on Hillgrove. They won 10-0 against Grayson earlier in 2010, and one might have, and probably did, say the same thing afterwards that you’re asserting now. The Brookwood Grayson rivalry game looks about the same each year. Don’t know why. But again, Brookwood only had the ball 2 times in the 1st half, one for a 3 and out. Can’t run up the score when you don’t have the ball.

This coaching staff has let these kids down. Playing 20-25 players and expecting to win in the second half. We can hang for a while, then the brain freeze takes over for this group of so called coaches. Next year will be a total night mare for this program. I will miss this once proud team.

Blah Blah Blah. After following and watching the CC Packers this season, they are completing unfinished business from last year. Determination, intimidation, execution, and precision pretty much sum it up for the Packers. Looking forward to a beat down on Valdosta and you city boys from ATL coming in to Our House in a few weeks.. Overall, we have more variety on offense this year and a killer defense this year. With the exception of one, we have taken down the metro teams one by one, and after watching Brooky play last night, they will not be a factor. This year,those Packer Boys are extra HARD!

I feel like I can offer an opinion on 1-5A. And I’m talking about 1-5A. Not the rest of the state. Poor ‘ol Tift has had a down year and has ran into a buzz-saw during the region schedule. Coffee and Valdosta are about equal. Average in the region. Lowndes and Colquitt are the cream. Colquitt is by far superior to Lowndes.
Coffee traveled to Lowndes and, as usual, played intimidated from the first whistle. Colquitt traveled to Coffee, brought a much larger crowd than Valdosta brought and wore Coffee completely out. Coffee played really well against Colquitt, holding to a 3-3 stand-off after one period but were just outmatched across the board by Colquitt. By far Coffee played it’s best 48 minutes of the year last night. It was a real slobber-knocker with almost all of the slobber being knocked out of Coffee.
Colquitt is head and shoulders above Lowndes. They proved it on the field. Beating them just as bad as they beat Coffee. Lowndes can excuse all they want but they don’t want to face Colquitt again this year.
With that said, I think 1-5A as a whole is better than an average year. I look forward to the play-offs. If our 3rd and 4th seed make it by their first round opponents all four teams should go deep into their brackets. Good luck to all of us in the play-offs.
And Valdosta…… Wear an extra jock strap next week.

@MADDBALL – Yes it was huge defensive battle. It normally is between the two of us. I was disappointed in how we got way too conservative in the second half. We have a QB that can pass and we need to let him. Air it out some, not the screen pass we all see coming. On the Brookwood score, I told the guy next to me to watch, they were going to throw to the right and lo and behold, BW threw to the right and scored. I know they were playing off a little bit to try to keep from having a receiver from getting behind them but in my opinion, at that part of the field we need to be playing a little tighter.

@blu eagle – What was bone headed was sending Robert into the middle. Let him go outside some and he has a better chance as I will put him up against any 1 or 2 tacklers in a short yardage situation.
I disagree about not doing well against an explosive offense. After we turned the ball over, the defense held and we got the ball back. I think we can shut down most explosive offenses enough to make it a close game. I’m not saying we shut them down totally, just enough.

@MADDBALL – It is easy to say Brookwood is a mediocre team if you haven’t played them in this strong a rivalry game. I can’t really give you a good example from region 1 unless you look at the strong cross town Cats/Viks rivalry. Yes, Brookwood got beat a couple of times this year that they shouldn’t have but then so has every team in R1 for example. The schools are so close and the kids all go to the same churches and play in many of the same rec leagues and such that they all know each other. It really makes a difference.
As I said earlier, I think in the second half we got away from the things that have worked so well for us this year and I don’t know why.

@plowboy-viking – No man. You’ve got me all wrong. I totally respect the Vikings program. What you hear me fussing about repeatedly is the “Jinx-Intimidation” thing the Vikings have going over Coffee. As soon as Coffee walks on the field with Lowndes you see their heads down and shoulders slumped. The Coffee/Lowndes thing goes back years and years. Regardless of the personal and record the two teams have when they take the field, Lowndes seems to be spotted 20 points before the game begins.
I was just saying that Coffee played toe-to-toe last night with Colquitt and got whipped. We hung our heads and flinched the entire Lowndes and got beat. I think that says something. Sorry if you don’t understand that.

Looking at the bracket it looks like Hillgrove, Walton, and Mceachern have a very easy paths to the 3rd round and should easily be in the last 8 teams. Camden will likely be there and North Gwinnett shouldn’t have much trouble with Valdosta. Colquitt will make it. MLK/Step winner has to get by the winner of Bwood/Pridge. So the Mlk/Steph loser gets Lowndes and the winner of that vs Grayson.
Grayson. Of the region winners i think Grayson has the toughest route to the final 8.

I have no problem with compassion for your team, but come on people. Other regions play good football to. I think their is no clear cut winner in 5-A. I like teams that are balanced.

I watched the wholegame with Brookwood/Grayson. Good game by both schools. Defenses were strong on both sides of the ball. You stated that Brookwood could hardly move the ball, the same could be said for Grayson. Brookwood stood up in the end against #1. the Brookwood QB made a very critical mistake after such a good game. Both teams will have to find some offense as the playoffs move along. Scoring will be paramount and at a premium this year. Some very good defenses out there. Both teams will do well in the playoffs. This year may be great for Ga.

Had an opportunity to check out Camden last night and a few observations from my perspective.
1. #12 is the real deal at QB. I see why Ga and other schools are after him. He has a great leg also. All kickoffs went 10 yads into the end zone. Causes teams to go 80 yds. He is also fast.
2. #5 is as fine as they come. Plays the corner better than many I have seen this year. Hard hitter and very fast.
3. #16 very fast and quick at receiver, Hback or whatever position he plays.
4. #22 is a fast and strong fullback, reminds me of that #15, in 08 and 09, but with break away speed.
5. That defense is comparable to any in AAAAA that I have seen. Very stout in the middle and very fast to the ball.
I know, it was a Savannah school, but they do what they are supposed to do, similar to Hillgrove and other schools playing bad schools. I was one to question Camden, but they need to be watched. I was told a starting Dline and tight end were out. Just my observations.

I agree with Fred and was thinking the same thing last night. Region 8-5A is made up of nine schools all from the south half of Gwinnett County. We go to the same churches, shop at the same stores, eat at the same restaurants, go to the same parks, and many the opposing parents work with each other during the week. Our neighborhood is half Archer High School and half Grayson High School. You live, literally, next door or across the street from a rival. We all know each other very well and sometimes it gets personal. Every week is a rivalry game.

Losing is not the norm at WR or Northside WR for period. For what it’s worth the only people rehashing is Colquitt fans. CoffeeC100…you must not have watched the same game that we the fans did last night. Yes, Coffee played good the first 18 minutes and then…and then…and then …they shot themselves in the foot. The second half Coffee couldn’t do anything…the “D” could stop the Pack. The “O” couldn’t move the ball.. The stupid Coaches looked like they didn’t know how to get out of the rain…and he!! it wasn’t raining. Colquitt beat our a@@ and it wasn’t pretty. They played their 2nd and third team last 8 mins, when Coffee scored its only TD.
Coffee will never be a very good team with Coach Eldridge as Head coach.The kids deserved better. If Coffee had the Colquitt Coach they would have won, are Fitz. coach..Ware coach, etc get my drift..Coffee coaches suck.
The pack could have scored 3 or 4 more time but took pity…

You can spin it however you want. Big difference between WR Demons and ENR besides the names and history of posts in this forum. True that the game was an out of region game for both and was really just a fill in game for both. If squeaking by to get a “W” is what it takes then so be it. All I am saying is don’t associate Demon fans with ENR he is a small voice and does a great job of setting traps on this forum for the majority of posters to fall in. WR has to turn their attention to a tough TCC team coming to the MAC today for a 5 o’clock game. Winner will all but lock up the 2nd seed behind Northside WR.

@Coffee96 – I agree with you. Coffee does not have a great team. All I said was Coffee didn’t walk on the field intimidated the way they ALWAYS DO with Lowndes. Now you are right. A lot of that, (Most of that), comes from Eldridge. Give me the authority to fire Eldridge and I’ll do it this afternoon. Colquitt whipped our butts but at least the PLAYERS tried. And if Probst had been the coach at Coffee for the last two years, yes the Coffee team would have been different. But he hasn’t been. And if had been “Coach for the night” It wouldn’t have made any difference. Give the kids some credit. They did the best They could.
I don’t think the “powers that be” that hire coaches at Coffee know their butts from a hole in the ground. They never have. Just look at the name painted on the Visitors press box. The great Bonnel Royal. What did he ever do? He’s still idolized at Coffee and only won two region championships in 3AAAA in TWENTY-SIX years at Coffee!
I was trying to make two points. 1. Lowndes is nowhere the team Colquitt is. and 2. The young men at Coffee have a lot of heart. Especially with the lack of coaching.

I heard a Colquitt fan say after the game last night that Colquitt will have a cake walk to the Dome this year, and will have no trouble getting there. That is not the case, YES, Colquitt has a good team, and does have a good chance to go, but there are other great teams in Georgia that can beat Colquitt on any given Friday night. Agree with that CoffeeC100….The powers that be=Board of Education= they voted and Chairman BC broke the tie for Eldridge. Chaney and Johnson voted to fire. Maybe we need a new Bd of ED. and new AD.
The Kids deserve better is right. They play hard but when you got three coaches telling the same kid to do something different on each play…that kid don’t know what to do. Thats what is going on. I have a kid on the field and I hear the crap everyday.
MADDBALL..yes, Will would have made a difference but I don’t believe we would have won..one man don’t stop the show so to speak..TEAM effort plus Coaching. We got effort but no coaching.
The last three years I’ve been in stands and 90% of fans blame coaching but again the “good old boys” with there power over Bd members keep the same bs.

Like I said, Colquitt has a great football team this year, and can go all the way. But the better team does not always win. Coffee is better then AA Appling Co and Colquitt is better then AAAA WR. Colquitt needs to be careful, just remember, 3-7 Savannah Beach could beat Colquitt in the playoffs if they play each other, you just never know. And DON’T over look Valdosta, they have a very good football team this year.

Cats vs Pack in Death Valley. Reminds me of the atmosphere when Pack played Valdosta in the Hogpen for the State Title in 94′. This may be the “oldest” rival in Ga. Two great teams with simular offenses and hard nosed defenses. Should be a historical battle for the Region 1 Title. Believe me the Packer team and fans will match the HomeTeam with passion and intensity.
May the best TEAM win!
P.S. Colquitt, Valdosta and Lowndes will still be around in the Quarter Finals and one will play for the Title in the Dome! Just a PACKER’s prediction!

I think that kid from Lowndes doesn’t really believe in his team anymore. He is starting to try and piggyback on Camden to cover his mouth. I guess we could say You better hope you don’t play North Gwinnett, Or Grayson, Or Brookwood, Or Ptree Ridge, Or Collins Hill, Or Walton, Or Hillgrove, Or MLK. You see bK there are more than 2 or 3 good teams around here. Didn’t every Reg1 team that made it past the 1st round get eliminated by a team from Gwinnett last year?
Everyone knows Lowndes is dangerous even with 3 losses and Camden is probably the favorite to win it all. Colquitt is certainly a legitimate threat. Thats it. 3 teams.

@yomomma, Why are you hating? these Wildcats are 9-0. They have the best D in the entire state..They have 96 players on the roster and only 18 seniors so they will be back with major talent next year. They went 10-1 last year. They have allowed only 26 points in 9 games and I don’t care who you play, you need to score to win and they don’t allow that. Seven of those 9 wins came via shutout. We have a state leading 13 blocked punts and also have 3 blocked extra point attempts.Add to that the state lead in fumble returns for touchdowns and this is why I can’t understand your comment about them nat being that tough. Hope we have a chance to meet your team, if they make the playoffs

@ Packer Fans – Colquitt has a good team this year. I still think the Lowndes game was a case of Lowndes feeling sorry for themselves after the Valdosta game. I don’t think Lowndes would have won, but the game would’ve been closer. See you in Death Valley next week.
@bk idiot – Lowndes is not the team they were in 04,05,07!!!! They have been on a gradual decline every since 07. I do think they will jump back up next year, but then fall deeper in 2013. The reason for this decline is no secret. They can’t pass the ball on offense or defend the pass on defense. When Mcpherson came, the wing T was soo new to everybody and teams didn’t really understand how to defend it. Lowndes also had great talent. Well, the Greg Reids, Darriet Perrys, Lynn Williams, Gerald Demps are gone!!! Lowndes talent level is on even par with everybody else. We will now see the true coaching ability of Mcpherson. Your 7th, 8th 9th and JV teams are getting beat by Valdosta and Colquitt!!!! I watched the Lowndes/Tift game and if thats the best Lowndes has, they will not go far in the playoffs. The 2nd rounds of the playoffs will have Lowndes playing teams that can defend the run and Lowndes will not be able to throw the ball. When your most productive pass plays are HAIL MARY to Josh Clemons or throwing the ball to a RB, you will have troubles in the playoffs. I am a Wildcat player (84-88), but I am a FOOTBALL FAN first and I have great respect for the Vikings.
@ VALDOSTA WILDCAT NATION – Our Wildcats are in the same boat as Lowndes. We have got our program turned back around, but we have glaring weaknesses too! Our O-line is suspect and our coach is stuck in his Ofeensive scheme and won’t stretch the field. We do not challenge teams down field on offense. We will struggle against Colquitt. Our D will keep us in the game, but unless our coach changes his philosophy, we won’t go far in the playoffs!!!!!

Lowndes 9th grade team beat valdosta 24-8 this year
they also beat colquitt 43-20
the jv team was 5-1 and beat colquitt 24-2 and 27-20…..tied 7-7 with valdosta

@ Bk Idiot Smith – Valdosta middle school players are broke up into 2 middle school teams(Valdosta-Newbern) and so is Colquitt. Valdosta middle 7th and 8th grade teams went undefeated!!!!!!!!!!!! Colquitt 2 middle school teams only lost 3 games, 2 to Valdosta and 1 to Coffee. Valdosta 9th grade team did lose to Lowndes, but the JV team beat Lowndes once and tied once. Most of Valdosta varsity starters that beat Lowndes this year are sophs that were on the freshman team last year that beat Lowndes twice (42-6 and 24-13). Lowndes will not win a state title in the next 10years!!!!! You claim that Lowndes is a state power, but you haven’t won anything since 2007. You are living in the past, just as you say the Valdosta Cats are living in the past. Lowndes had a good 4 year run(04-07) and now thats over!!! Atleast at Valdosta we had a 25year run!!!! Mcpherson is just like Mark Ritch, had great success early, but now that time is up!!!!! I hear you talking about Camden County and other teams schedule, but the only 2 half decent teams Lowndes has beat all year is, Burke and Coffee. Lowndes has lost to the 3 teams that were equal to them in talent!!!!!

Lowndes is playing 1 soph #6 Eric Hart(class of 2013) In 2013, the year you say Lowndes will dominate, they will have maybe 2 players with Varsity experience. Check your roster and do your research!!!! CATS will dominate in 2013!!!!!!
@Plowboy-Viking – #48 Jarvis Roberts is fine. He plays fullback and played 2 weeks ago against Tift. His foot was never broken, just sprained! He could’ve played more against Lowndes, but he didn’t practice much that week. Oh, he did scoe a TD against Lowndes that was some how ruled a no play with a defensive penalty!!!!!!

lowndes has more talent and always will have more than vhs. been that way for 7 straight years adn we had more this year. look at what happened to the 2007 patriots……….much better than new york giants………..but that one night they were not. it happens. i still stand strong saying that lowndes is the better team…………it took a miracle and luck for vhs to come back down 10 with a min to go. case closed

@grayram – The announced attendance was either 10,100+ or 10,900+. I thought it was 10,900+ but my daughter said 10.100+ and since I can’t hear worth a flip (just ask my wife!) I’ll go with her number.
The Fred you heard is Fred Zerblis. He is the offensive/defensive center. He plays both ways, just not all the time, in and out a lot on defense depending on what it anticipated. At roughly 300 lbs of mostly muscle he is tough to defend against.
