Long before he began running over defenders in the NFL, Falcons running back Michael Turner did all he could to turn his high school team into a winner. It took some time. His North Chicago High team struggled, providing one of Turner’s favorite memories:
“It was Homecoming my junior year. We had the state’s longest losing streak at the time. We finally broke the streak. We finally won a game. That was my first high school victory. I had to wait until my junior year, near the end of the year to get it. That’s my greatest memory. I had like 80 yards. I don’t know if I scored once or twice. We beat Warren High.”
