Stephenson look strong despite the QB not connecting on pass plays. Most hit the target, but were dropped. But I will say that Justin Holman (#10) is well on his way to becoming a very good quarterback. He needs a little more weight, but in the pocket he is throwing with confidence.

You can count the number of Stephenson games I’ve missed on one hand since the school opened, but this set of running backs is as talented as on any of the past teams. Mike Davis is “The Real Deal”…but don’t key on him because you will get smoked by Pernell Whitehead or T.J. Moon. The big tests for Stephenson is coming up on the schedule though. They shouldn’t look past any other remaining opponent in 2-AAAAA. All have awesome talent in one aspect or another and are capable of beating the Jags. However, I like the way the team is gelling, flying below the radar (so to speak) and taking care of business on the field. Great job Stephenson coaches and players. I would say this though…from a very dedicated and loyal supporter of the program….please work on the pass defense. Too many big, I mean big pass plays where the d-backs are caught looking in the backfield and getting smoked. Just an observation. This is not a criticism, just an observation from a big fan. Tighten that up, and Stephenson will be solid in every aspect of the game and a real force to reckoned with. Go Jags!!!

battleaxe kid….I think your point is well taken. The key is to get past the 1st and 2d rounds. I think you will agree that winning the 2-AAAAA region will be no small task with the likes of East Coweta and especially MLK still on the schedule. Typically Stephenson teams get stronger as the year goes on, then get upset in the playoffs. I hope the coaching staff does “something different” this year. I think the talent is there, but how do you get them to perform to their potential during the playoffs.

By the way, you keep these blogs fun to read…keep it up! lol

as a jaguar fan its time to challenge the underlying culture in regards to shs football program…i hope these kids on this years team take their own destiny in their hands….they have a talented group of players and i really hope they come together as a unit and block out all the coaching retoric that follows the program….jag players make it about you guys as a team …forget the coaching excuse…grow as a team and make it your destiny…play for each other….leave it all on the field ..be the first to WIN IT ALL….good luck
