One of Georgia’s top basketball prospects has made their college decision.

Christen Mercer, a 6-foot forward from Douglas County High School, has committed to the Florida Gators. She was also considering UGA, Auburn, Alabama and South Carolina.

“After going to elite camp and spending time with Florida’s coaches, she decided she wanted to be a Gator,” said Mercer’s AAU coach, Tonya Jackson.

Mercer made All-State last year while leading Douglas County to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.

Great Job Merce!
It’s what you did on and off the court that has afforded you this opportunity.
Many Congrats! Much Success!

Agree with DMAN. Landers seems to be unable to keep the top talent in the state, year after year. Guess it doesn’t matter since it is just women’s basketball.
