Lassiter High has one of the nation’s top college football prospects for 2013 with quarterback Eddie Printz. “Our offense is designed around his ability to spread the ball around and make plays in the passing game,” Lassiter coach Jep Irwin said.

WR Charles Hegedus recently returned to the team after participating with the school’s track team.

Irwin’s goals for spring are to determine the depth chart “two deep” at each position, install a new offensive and defensive scheme and improve practice organization and tempo.

Team: Lassiter Trojans

Spring Game:6:30 p.m. on May 13

Last year’s record: 5-6

Starters lost: 5 on offense, 5 on defense

Head coach: Jep Irwin

Coach Jeb’s gonna have to get the boys to buy into his schemes better than last year

Sounds like he is gonna implement some new schemes that fit the personnel.better. And with some very talented juniors and seniors…and a couple underclassmen from what people there have said…i expect a much better team than last year.

lassiter will contend for a state title…. printz at qb and dickey and hegedus out wide is a NIGHTMARE for DB’s. they seem stacked this year

I think contending for a state title is a huge stretch, gadawg. You mention offensive weapons but nothing about how the Trojans will improve from giving up an average of 4 touchdowns a game. Good defensive teams can stop that highly talented QB- they did it last year and we saw it in the playoffs the year before against Mason.

I think the D will be better than last year…possibly much better.

I believe they got back one of the main defensive coaches after he was gone for a year in Afghanistan/Iraq with his Reserve unit. Do I expect them to be a team that gives up the least in the state? Absolutely not, but I can see a big improvement coming compared to last year where they are maybe in the high teens or a tick lower instead of the mid to high 20s per game.

And a good D will slow down a high powered offense, but I believe when that happened 2 years ago, part of that was do to the 2 coaches knowing eachother and the schemes.

Contend for a State title? Not sure what they have out in the East Cobb water but this team will not come within a stone’s throw of a State title as you will see when Brookwood puts a beat down on them at Corky Kell.

gadawg, that spread offense foolery might work out in East Cobb, but in Southern Gwinnett we line them up and run you over you. Jegedus and Dickey whoever they might be won’t be catching many balls after the first couple times they get lit up coming across the middle.

How soon we forget what happened in the playoffs with you bout that soft style football out against the big dawgs.

Get out of here huh? Feelings getting hurt? 200 pounds? whoopty doo! We will see what track times he is running after getting some pads laid on him at Corky Kell. This is real football playing out here in Gwinnett County son, keep your spread offense out there in Cobb County, it might work out there.

In Southern Gwinnett you play defense? lol South Gwinnett gave up 70 in the playoffs vs. Lassiter’s spread two years ago. When the offense is rolling it is unstoppable unless you have a dominant d line which from looking at recruiting sites Brookwood has no one that could compare to the two FSU lineman Colquitt had when they shut them down. Lassiter will have one of the top 5 offenses in the state and the most vaunted passing attack. Lets just hope they can stop suomeone.

@ football, yes in southern Gwinnett, in Lilburn, GA where Brookwood and Parkview are located we play defense.

What has Lassiter won with their spread offense? 5-6 last year? Dude get real….you are not even the best team in East Cobb how do you figure you can compete with Gwinnett County football? smh

@ LHS Grad

you are another rich spoiled idiot…when has Cobb county ever beat Gwinnett county in anything? 3-1 over Gwinnett at Corky Kell? They will be playing football not Lacrosse. Look at the sorry state of Cobb County football, a school that opened 2 years ago is already the best team in the county.

Brookwood 42 lassiter 10
