DeKalb All-Star senior basketball games on April 26

The 2nd Annual DeKalb Co. All-Star Senior Basketball Games will be hosted
by Columbia High School on Tuesday, April 26.

The girls’ game opens the double-header at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game
following at 8 p.m.

Many of the top signed and unsigned seniors from DeKalb County Schools
will be suiting up for the final time in their school uniforms to put on a
show for fans and college scouts.

Miller Grove girls’ basketball coach Renee Breedlove leads a squad of 13
players including 1,000 point club members Jasmine Camp of Chamblee, a
Stanford signee, and Martin Luther King Jr.’s Keyonna Benton.

Breedlove’s opponent will be Columbia girls’ basketball coach Chantay
Frost squad of 14 headlined by 1,000 point club members Destinee Smith of
Columbia, Katrice Harris of McNair and Kierra Paige of Redan.

Frost led her 2010 squad to an exciting 60-58 victory over Southwest
DeKalb girls’ coach Kathy Walton’s team.

Columbia’s Akila McDonald scored 15 points for the winners and was named
the game’s MVP.

The 2011 boys’ teams are led by Stephenson’s Curtis Gilleylen and
Southwest DeKalb’s Dwayne McKinney.

Gilleylen’s All-Stars are led by 1,000 point club members Algie Key of
Class AAA state champion Columbia and Jonathan Tinch of Stephenson.

McKinney’s squad features DeKalb County scoring champion Jameir Hughes of
Cross Keys (20.6 points) and point guard Thomas Marshall (7.1 assists) who
directed Miller Grove to its third consecutive Class AAAA state
championship.

Last year’s game was won by Columbia boys’ coach Phil McCrary’s squad
86-63 over Miller Grove boys’ coach Sharman White’s team as Lakeside’s
Sheldon Strickland earned MVP honors with his 15-point performance

Columbia has two of the best coaches in Highschool Basketball in Coach Frost and Coach McCrary! They are for sure the top 2 in Dekalb County in boys and girls basketball.. Great choice for that all star game!!!

Jordan Forte, from Avondale High School will also be participating on Tinch’s team. He’s awesome. He’s “THAT MAN” on the court. He really isn’t given enough credit for his hard work and skill level, but it’s definitely through the roof. Don’t sleep on him!
