Midnight deadline to cast your final votes for AJC Slam Dunk Contest
The winner of the NBA Dunk Contest? Blake Griffin. What about the winner of the AJC Slam Dunk Contest? That is to be determined. Round 2 tipped off on Saturday and features some of the nation’s top college basketball prospects.

I think it’s safe to say we’ve never had this much overall talent in the AJC Slam Dunk Contest. You’ve got many of the nation’s top college basketball prospects, including:
- Shaquille Johnson, Milton (committed to Auburn)
- Brandon Morris, Miller Grove (UGA, Forida, offers, etc.)
- Algie Key, Columbia
- Matt Citron, Woodward Academy
- Kenneth Gaines, Whitefield Academy
- Corey Perkins, South Atlanta
- Corey Heyward, Peachtree Ridge
- Roger Perkins, Campbell
Here are the details of the 2011 AJC Slam Dunk Contest: (1) You can vote once per hour, (2) voting ends at MIDNIGHT on Friday, Feb. 25, and (3) you need to click on this link to both see the dunks and vote … The top 4 will move on to Round 3 next week.

Corey Perkins is also one of the most humble, team players I have ever seen. His dunks in an actual game setting are unbelieveable. Maybe UPICKEM should add a feature of actual in game dunks to future contests.

Hey AJC… region championship games were played this past weekend. Maybe AJC sports should mention the results and start talking abou the first round of the state tournament in one of the best high school basketball markets in the country.

@really. citron is not selfish, and he plays hard as hell. matts my boy and he busts it as hard as he can every second when he plays. if thats selfish than your obviously not watching the same guy, whenever we play at the gym he plays harder than anybody else and cares about winning more than anybody I know. competitive people want to be a part of a won game, not watch it from the sides, dont talk crap about my boy

Oh so players need to transfer to big basketball powers, completely disregard academics, and break GHSA rules to be a good basketball player? Woodward is a 10x better school academically than Milton or Miller Grove haha. And I don’t think you know anything about the college interest that players are receiving if you are only “an outsider looking in”. I’m not about to sit here and insult highschool kids like you have been doing the entire course of this contest… Give it a rest man.

and I’m not insulting Citron, he is a good ball player, but in NO WAY a better dunker than half of these guys here, yet all of his apparent classmates, including you, have blown up every post on here talking him up, when it’s pretty obvious he is not the same caliber as the rest of these guys.
