Congrats to these fellas. These boys are working hard day in and day out. I AM a member of the 2010 signing class of 29. These boys came up under us and we came up under the players in front of us. These coaches are in our lives and play an active role everyday from discipline to academics. The football field is just a portion of what we develop off of the field. These coaches turn us into men. They help us grow as a family from Freshman to Signing Day. If you bashing Stephenson, you just making us stronger EVERY year. If you with Stephenson, thanks for the support. God Bless

BUZZ bad coaching everywhere, look at UGA with all the players in the NFL. But one thing about both programs it give a player a chance to play at the next level. So you can keep talking about a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP and BAD COACHING and we will keep doing what we do BEST and that is give every SENIORS an opportunity to farther their EDUCATION and ATHLETE ability at the next level. An COLLEGE EDUCATION and a chance to play at the next level is more important than BAD COACHING and STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN STEPHENSON COMMUNITY. BAD COACHING IS DOING SOMETHING RIGHT.

So I guess good coaching from Brookwood (2) D-1 signees and Grayson (1) D-1 signee are putting kids in school. Get real!!!!! At the end of the day, a free education is far more important that a state championship!!!!!! Stephenson, keep producing D-1 prospects!!!!!

I’ve always been hard on the Stephenson program during the season for not winning it all (State Championship). But every February, Coach Gartrell and his staff does right by his kids/players. So, I’ll leave him alone until next fall.lol Good job to the kids, coaches, and Parents.

Please!! All this talk about Stephenson putting kids into school is good and all but they do have a rather large student body and the football team has a lot of kids on it. Just by the law of large numbers they will have more kids go to colleges than other schools but the fact is they never win anything of importance on the field. These players want to win on the high school level cause they are competative. The coaching stinks at Stephenson. Those same players will go D1 reguardless what school they go too.

dboy jones Stephenson has the student body of a AAAA school but we play AAAAA schedule> we have 1900 student versus 3000-4000 students at most schools in AAAAA. your large student body theory is obsurd. if it was that easy to go D1 you would be there but you’re not. Stop hating on us and do something productive.

thank you d-boy hater for saying what i wanted to, he thinks tucker is the only good program around, but like i said last year MLK & Stephenson are good every year and even with that cant miss team of 2010 even the mighty tuck fell short and he dont want to even talk 2011 cause they`ll be an average team in a very weak coachless region.(besides marist)

Good for these kids and this program!! Just shows what a difference it makes when these coaches get involved in the recruiting process. After going through this process with our son (and we got into a great program), I know what a difference it would have made to have his HS coach involvement. As a previous poster stated, it is much more important to secure the best education possible and get the financial help we all need.

G from Grayson…..

Grayson had 4 D1 players not 1. Even though it’s D1-aa, still D1.

Aaron Nichols (Campbell University, NC)
Wilson Hudgins (Georgia Southern, GA)
Tre’ McQueen (Coastal Carolina)
Micheal Peek (N.C. State)

OK GHS#22 since you count 1-AA…LOL. That brings Stephenson’s total to something like 40 the last 2 years! Still no comparison. You guys have a great program at Grayson, with talent but for some strange reason the kids are still not getting into school!!! All the time, hard work and money spent that you guys put into the program in my eyes D-1 is all that matters!!! You guys don’t give D-1AA type effort!!!! I know that for a fact!!!! My son plays at Grayson!

personally, i’d rather have my kid at stephenson before grayson. scholarship beats state championship easily. stephenson may not win the title, but at least i know the staff cares enough about my kid to put solid effort into the betterment of their future.

DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO BEACON PREP (.NET) IN DOUGLASVILLE GEORGIA THEY SCAMMED MY CHILD OUT OF $1000 DID NOT PLAY HIM AND LIED THAT THEY WERE ASSOCIATED WITH STEPHENSON PREP (COACH WOOTEN AND MICHELLE) ARE HEARTLESS PEOPLE WERE READY TO DROP MY SON OFF THE AIRPORT STRANDED!!!!

My child actually attends Beacon Prep and has been with coach Wooten and his wife Michelle for two years. This is the farthest thing from the truth. You will always have delusional parents who think their kids are better in basketball then they really are. Aren’t you the same parent who called the police and lied and said your son was locked in the basement????? Get your information right…..they are affiliated with Stevens Prep in NC. My child is happy there and he told me all about this crazy situation. There’s always a bad apple in the bunch…..SMH
