Starr’s Mill High’s swim team beat out five other high schools to win the Fayette County championship for the 11th season in a row.
“When you hold the championship title for ten straight years, we knew the other county teams were working hard to take that title away,” Starr’s Mill coach Rebecca Rickeard said. “We knew we had a strong team and they really pulled through [last weekend].”

11 years in a row is and the team still can’t get a banner in the gym with the rest of the teams. Basketball has a banner and has only had 1 winning season in the history of the school. Football has a banner just for playing a gem in the Dome (Corky Kell Classic) that we had to pay to go to.

swim fan…quit your whining. If you want a banner, have the swim team booster club buy one and then hang it up next to a pool. Does the swim team even have a booster club? I know you want football to pay for it. Football deserves all the banners in the gym because they pay for everything. When the swim team starts bringing in tens of thousands of dollars every year maybe someone other than parents of swimmers will care.
