Milton basketball team to play on ESPNU at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday

The defending state champion in Georgia’s largest classification will play on ESPNU at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in high school basketball.

Milton High matches up against New Jersey’s St. Patrick in the championship of the City of Palms Classic in Ft. Myers, Fla.

On Tuesday, Milton’s Julian Royal (signed with Georgia Tech) had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 63-62 win over Winter Park, Fla. Winter Park point guard Austin Rivers, the Duke recruit who is considered the nation’s No. 1 prospect, finished with 25 points against Milton after scoring 42 the previous night.

Milton’s Shannon Scott (Ohio State) might’ve been the best point guard in this game, finishing with 15 points and 7 assists.

OR why don’t we congratulate at team with good players and good kids giving Georgia good publicity? I bet if any of the other teams in Georgia got a nationally televised game, the AJC would write about it to..

Why you guys crying. They just had an article on Miller groves;Tony Parker. Milton first off has only won one basketball state championship ever so why should players choose Milton. One good players comming up from feeder program. Ex. Julion and Nolte. Two rated as one of the best rated public schools in the nation. So if my child was a good basketball player I would move to Milton first for the education and second for basketballl. And why get mad at a local school who has a good team it gives publicity to our area

What gets me is how everyone is hating on Milton. Is there any other GA team doing what they are doing? Has the schedule they have? If another GA team was playing on NATIONAL television then of course it would be covered! Twice,I might add! But no one else is but them! So let them have this moment, this time, these memories! Support our state of GA. No one else is representing like they are. You have to give them props for what they have done and are doing.

Milton isn’t even playing the toughest schedule this year.

Nobody said they’re playing the toughest schedule! They don’t have an easy one either. But they are the ones putting GA out there in the national spotlight! That’s the kinda BS I’m talking about! You guys find every little thing to hate or complain about! Just give them their props and support them on a STATE level! Dang! If another school is doing the same thing then they would get their props also. Win or lose tonight, they are the ONLY school in GA on T.V tonight representing! Support them. They are where no body else is right now! Is their any other school playing on ESPNU twice?! Please let me know so I can support them also.

Milton does have one of the toughest schedule… If you can name one harder ill give you props. Milton plays Winter Park Twice, Oak Hill, Wheeler, Norcross, Miller Grove, St. Patricks, GAC, Huffman AL, Fort Myers, Norfolk..Not to mention other tournments they are in… And the players do come to milton for education quote from Dai-Jon Parker — ” I chose Vandy, because my education comes first.”
