Carrollton players were sitting in the endzone with us in the Buford endzone last night.. Those guys were very nice & respectful to all that were around them.. Not saying SC is not the same, as we did not see them.. But just for the class & respect they shown, I hope Carrollton wins…

That being said…. Also hoping Brookwood wins the AAAAA tonight..
Then there needs to be a “Battle of Gwinnett”…. Play the game at Brookwood Community Stadium… Sell 12,000 tix at $10 each… Give Buford & Brookwood schools $30,000. each.. After security, etc (about $7,5000) divide the $$$ amongst the remainder of the Gwinnett Co schools…

Calhoun – great game yesterday. You have great team, program and fans. You should be very proud as I am sure you are. Lat year and this year a play or two different and you are back to back champions and some of these pinheads on this site are calling you cheaters.
First my kids do go to Buford. They are in the 3rd and 5th grades. We live in Gwinnett County but not in Buford. We are about 15 min from the schools. My kids already play rec sports for Buford. Like most of the tuition students they are at Buford because of the academics and the high expectations for all of their students to excell at the three A’s (Academics, Arts, Athletics). They are there because the High School is 700 students total (thus the AA clasification) vs Mill Creek which is 3,500 students. And we like it small so thats not changing. The kids that they go to school with today will be the kids they will graduate with not get moved to another school when another is built and a line moves. They will play sports with the same kids every year for the next 10 years. How many High School Head coach’s have EVER shown up at an 7 yr old practice to talk to the kids and encourage them? How many elementary schools have had High School players show up for a pep rally. Sure does not feel like cheating when our kids are showing up for speed camps and football camps all summer starting at 7 years old. Looks a whole lot more like desire and want. They know from that age that they are playing for their team, family and community when they put on that uniform. Funny thing is that when you ask a student or parent what they like about Buford or why their kids go to Buford there are a lot of things they will tell you before they get to athletics / sports. We have had lots of our kids friends who do not attend Buford ask us about it and we have never said anything about winning on Friday nights. Its all about the scool and the community.
For those of you haters that will never get it. Get used to it because we are not going anywhere. For the others good luck and we look forward the competition.

The Buford VS Calhoun game was the best high school match I have watched .Two outstanding programs and coaching that matches small colleges. Congrats to both teams for a thrilling game
that could have gone either way.

Down in Class A, Clinch is doing it again.
Somehow, despite zero resources, a minuscule per capita income, zero attractions, a zillion acres of swamp (plus a swamp fire this year), and desolate isolation, Clinch continues to be a dynasty.
And they’re usually good in all sports they play.
I don’t understand it. It’s definitely not recruiting. Guess that swamp water has somehow morphed into superior genetics.

Lets let the fresh fish from the Creek do the trash talking. Just remember all the Trojan teams who have stood here as you do tonight and how they made a choice not to lose. You can draw from all those teams and have all the community’s support solidly behind you.

the buford/calhoun game was oustanding. as happened last year, calhoun committed more turnovers and that was the game. other than turnovers, bufords pinpoint passing attack was critical. no team could beat calhoun with only a running game. based on what i have seen so far, these could be the two best high school teams in our state. one last thought, i am worn out with hearing how buford cheats. they play by the rules and if that makes anyone unhappy, then change the rules, but don’t blame buford because they use the rules to their benefit. also for the record, I am a calhoun fan whoes grandson starts on tne calhoun defense. with a great coach like hal lamb, we will be back.

There’s gonna be Tucker payback next year, all right. Lakeside is going to get some sweet payback for the onside kicks, fake punts, and other classless running up of the score. Can’t wait to get some tigers by the tail next year. In the meantime, enjoy the finals on TV, tiggers.

Buford should send the refs a thank you card and a Christmas card since most of the calls went against Calhoun. I really feel they were trying to get Buford the win and a think its a real shame with the refs change the outcome of a game. Worse football refs I have ever seen in my life.

@ Jason: refs were the worst, you are correct.
However, there were horrible missed calls on both sides and embarrassing penalty assessments that aided the Jackets on several occasions. Most fans agree that they were awful, but hardly created the outcome. Calhoun has a great coach, team and fans. Please don’t let your disappointment sound like sour grapes. Most all Buford fans I talked to today have the utmost respect for your Jackets and were just glad to see such a hard-fought game.

Poor Ole Lambert – Don’t be too quick to dismiss Hooch next year. Stud Freshman QB (pearlberg-uncle played for the colts) and Nelson (freshman) who didn’t start until late in the season and RB Guerrant (sophomore) who started through game 7 will be looking to defend.

Congratulations to the Clinch County Panthers. You make us fellow South Georgians proud. I’ve never understood how Clinch can be so good in all sports. They have always been our rival and they’ve always dominated us…. All the way back to the 50’s. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s as much attitude as ability. They are the kings and they know it. If anyone can figure it out, let me in on their secret.

@Thoroughbred…..I’m not actually surprised you don’t work. Considering your grammar and scouting reports I wasn’t surprised by that news at all! I’m sure you actually have nothing to do with the Sandy Creek program! They did a great job tonight and the fans were great. I haven’t seen the 5A game but the 3A game was the best game so far in the finals including the 2A OT game. SC and Carrollton played a great, great game. The SC experience paid off in the 1st quarter as the Trojans seemed a little wide eyed with the whole Dome experience.
Congratulations to Sandy Creek! 4A to 3A Championships are impressive!
