Calhoun sucks. Buford rolls again as usually.
The wolves run this state.

If Buford had any integrity, they would play up a classification or two.

There was a team in Sanderville GA (Washington Cty) that should have won 6 straight, they were really a program, my question again to Buford true fans is where are the major college players?

Buford recruits almost as good as Bama and UGA!

Hey Worm are there any UGA or Bama players that are Buford alumni?

Redd, Buford has sent 3 to the pros, Darius Walker of Notre Dame probably being the best known. They’ve had 140 All State players. Can’t say how many went to UGA or GT. A OT D. Long is at UGA currently. Talent has been in abundance. though no NFL player that’s played more than 2 season.

Not looking good for my picks so far …

UGA currently has three players from Buford, according to the georgiadogs.com. OLs Kolton Houston and Dallas Lee and snapper Billy Johnson. Couldn’t find any Buford grads on the Bama roster.FWIW, former UGA DB Tim Wansley went to Buford, as did former Notre Dame running back Darius Walker. The Buford website lists dozens of signees over the past five years.

Hard to tell sometimes, but from looking at 3 halfs of football so far tonight, I’d put Buford and Calhoun up against both these AAAA teams, and I bet I’d come out a winner favoring AA. But maybe this half was a bad half for both AAAA teams.

How many people do y’all think are at the Dome tonight? Last year I went to the to watch the AAAA final it was hard to guess how many people where there since the Dome is so big.

A healthy northside team would have won state having three senior starters out killed them but you better be ready for them next year they are returning a bunch of talent and they have a sophmore qb that is better than the great marques ivory good luck to all the teams playing for the state championship

Hooch up by 17-0. If Starrs Mill has anything,, they’d better start showing it pretty soon.

@THOROUGHBRED – for the previous game, I’d guess 16,000, maybe 18,000. More for Calhoun that for Buford, I thought.

Converted Trojin,
you must be a Troy State fan from LA. Listen, Probst is a good coach for whom I would not play for. He got kicked out of Hoover cuz he cheated. Let’s see how long would he last in Moultrie.

Gotta remember this is High School football. One never knows if their team is going to show up. In 2005, the BW QB, David Pittman, hurt an ankle, couldn’t move, couldn’t throw, and Lowndes destroyed BW in the State Finals at their Concrete Palace. So I sympathize with Starrs Mill, a 14-1 season is still a great season, sad that it must end with a loss. (It’s only the start of the 4th qtr., but the handwriting is on the wall)

24-0 now. 8 minutes left. The party is over! Good luck to the teams in the three games tomorrow. I’ll be watching Colquitt County play Brookwood from Philadelphia via a web feed (I hope) after traveling to Lincoln Financial Field. Good luck to BW. And, finally, GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!

Going way back to the comments of “Just the Facts” at 1:28 P.M. this afternoon.
Every point you made is going in reverse. I guess Hooch contained your sizable OL. It was Starrs Mill’s quarterback that was kept on the sidelines. Hooch controlled the clock. Hooch stopped the S.M.’s run and actually ran all over them. Starrs Mill’s defense was the one that looke tired from being out there so long, and I can go on and on. Not one of your facts became a factor in this game. So I guess Hooch will be AAAA champ by 11:00 P.M. tonight. Oh by the way it wasn’t even close, that “DONUT” looks good. One more thing, I’m not even a Hooch fan.

Starrs Mill never showed up……..They can’t be that bad………. Calhoun blew their game……..poor tackles…..you can’t arm tackle any body………..Still Buford showed up, and congrats to them. this was better football than Hooch vs Starrs Mill……………maybe better games tomorrow…….

@Just the Facts. So much for Stars Mills Offensive line controlling the line of scrimmage. Chattahoochee completely and utterly dominated the line of scrimmage and the game from the opening kickoff. I give Stars Mill credit for getting there but I think you were way off base with your earlier prediction. Your team was no match for Chattahoochee. I knew all week that THE HOOCH would find a way to win and boy did they ever. 15-0 STATE CHAMPS !!

Congrats to Hooch on winning the AAAA title! You showed yourself to be the best team in your class. Good season, Starr’s Mill. It’s sucks right now, but after some time to reflect, you will realize what a great season you had. You’ll be back again next year.

So now there’s talk about not letting participating schools host the football semi-finals. They took the fun & excitement away from home towns that got to host a state game & now this. Heck, let’s just move the regular season games to the Dome as well! C’mon GHSA, don’t take all the fun & move it to Atlanta. It ain’t fair.

I have completely given up picking games this season; except that Buford almost always seems to take care of business. So I will go for Buford. BTW, Darius Walker lived in the Collins Hill district. Just another example of Buford taking care of business.

I am tempted to pick Chattahoochee.

Hey! Lokk at that! 2 for 2.

It seems like CC is on a roll, but so is Brookwood. They have the Div 1 thing going for them, but they have been beaten by 4 teams that are not as good as Brookwood. Who knows? This seems to be the year where the underdog comes out ahead. And I am not even sure who is the underdog in this game?

It will probably be exciting football regardless of the winner.

Too bad Starrs Mill read their own headlines. Congrats to the Hooch! They pitched a shutout in the state finals. I think Hooch played their toughest games against Marist & Statesboro. Starrs Mill was WAY out of their league.

If carrollton plans to run the ball and control the clock they better plan on scoring every possesion. Sandy Creek can score quick. If carrollton does not score every possesion or turns the ball over it will be hard to catch up.

I did see on the GHSA website if you are from carroll county and have all your teeth you get in free at the Dome for the game.

Hey JUST THE FACTS….fact is Chattahoochee wiped the dome with your Stars mills Panthers making them see see stars for the entire night along with a big fat goose-egg. Your coach wisely threw in the towel with 3 minutes left and ran out the clock. Tip…don’t go in the prediction business. I’ll bet you are a Georgia crimeDawg fan. go Cougars

@grayram…..you seem to be working real hard to find a silver lining in those dark clouds hanging over Grayson these days….nobody takes Buford as a serious “program of the decade”…it is clearly evident that they recruit 5A level talent and operate on the 2A playground……and then asking how many championships from south ga so far?!?!?!…….you are reaching so far and hard you might just pull a muscle. Hopefully, Brookwood may pull it off tomorrow and save you from another year of ultimate despair.

Used to be Titletown Fan: There are no dark clouds hanging over Grayson. All the way to the Semi’s the year AFTER several key players graduated. Amazingly neither Buford or Chattahoochee play in the all powerfull south ga regions. Maybe Savannah or Colquitt can bail you out. I would have loved it for Grayson to make the finals, but will have to settle for traveling to Valdosta and watching their fans sit on their hands in shock then leave early.

Wow – was at the game … My apologies again … I predicted hooch to win by 4 tds … Wrong, only by 24!

As all know – I have said all year … Hooch would go all the way

This game wasn’t even close … 50 yd fg, 99 yd drive, etc, etc, etc … This was hooch’s first goose egg. I believe the score could have been 40 to nothing!

Also Buford game was a lot of fun … Great effort by calhoun

Starr’s Mill thanks for a great season. Best in school history. Nothing to hang your head on. Just got beat by the better team tonight.

And yes I am a UGA grad:) Proud of it, too.

Congrats to Buford (who benefitted from Calhoun’s win last week) and the Hootch, but for Calhoun fans just one question..after the monster game the tall WR had against carver, where was he against buford? was he even thrown to?? i would have forced the ball to that guy in the overtime period…but im sure you will reload and be back next year!! Great game and seasons for both.

Sounds Bitter But…

R the AA and AAAA State Championships really just a battle of the GHSA rules abusers?

AA – Buford wins 5thchampionship playing in AA as a “public school” while accepting players from all over the state who pay $1000 to “become a Buford citizen” and play ball! How many Buford boyz live in Buford – maybe 50%.

AAAA – Chattahoocheee – a well coached team who was destined for a run at state after moving from 5A to 4A. Their chances improved greatly when 2 key senior players move from Northview HS as seniors – #5 Whitehurst and #22 Gregory along with two other Northview kids. O and their star Freshman RB Chase Nelson lives out of district in North Fulton.

Next up the superstar rule violaters – 5A and 1A teams. Private schools who abuse the A and AAAAA super schools.

Love it.
