When I was there, Brookwood owned the dome and Cruise was just starting out as HC. Brookwood takes the trophy 45 minutes north on I-85 back to Snellville on Saturday night. Should be a good game, have always had respect for Colquitt, way more than Camden which I’ve seen play on a few occasions. And the rest of the South Georgia teams couldn’t find class if they went back inside the school building. Bunch of rednecks and thugs. Seen it both on the field and in the stands. That means all y’all in Lowndes. Happy to see what Colquitt brings to the Dome, because we sure are tired of the rest of the folks acting like they ain’t never been there before. It is high school football, after all…

OK, here goes …
A I’m going with Savannah Christian. They beat Charlton County just as bad as Clinch did, they have the motivation of having lost in the final last year and just because Clinch is on Highway 84 doesn’t mean they’re anointable upon stepping off the bus.
AA Calhoun. Too tempting to compare scores here. That win over Carver was dang impressive.
AAA Despite the fact that Carrollton has one of the top 10 scoring teams in state history (628 points coming in), I’m going with Sandy Creek, whose defensive front handled a really good Peach County team last week. They’ll slow Carrollton down just enough to win in a high-scoring game.
AAAA Starr’s Mill. It appears rumors of Laskey’s demise were greatly exaggerated, and that kid is a difference maker. Plus, I think the Panthers’ special teams are every bit as good as Chattahoochee’s, particularly the punter. This should be a great game to watch.
AAAAA I can’t get past those five losses (yeah, I know, they were all to playoff teams, ect., etc.) and the huge amounts of points Colquitt has given up (421 to exact). I’m going with Brookwood.

I am glad my Packers are playing for the state title, but the absolute best team I saw all year was the Valdosta Wildcats. I don’t know what happened to them against Grayson other than a lot of turnovers. The Grayson team I witnessed had no business beating the Valdosta team we face in week ten. Valdosta was loaded and well coached. I didn’t want to play them again if they had beaten Grayson. Go PACK!

Jon “Guy Pile” Scharder was the greatest Brookwood Bronco ever, he once ate a whole horse before throwing 3 td’s in one game…Man I loved that guy….

Everyone that is saying Colquitt County will roll over Brookwood, I just don’t see it. Have not seen Brookwood play this year and CC put us out but at this stage in the game I just don’t see anyone blowing the other out. Could be wrong but I think we are going to see something in the range of 31 – 28 or 35 – 28. Either team is capable of coming out on top.
Here’s to a great and injury free game. Hope the boys have a blast and enjoy the experience!

Im not a Carrollton fan but i can tell you this much…Seed Kills and they got plenty of it….Especially Snoddy who just happens to be the third fastest in the NATION….Carrollton controls the ball and grines it out in a 24-14 win against a good Sandy Creek team

I watched Colquitt County four times this year, all of them were losses (Lowndes, Valdosta, S Panola) with the exception of Grayson, and they still were one of the most impressive 5A teams I can remember in a while. It is all about composure and they have a lot of it. Xzavier Ward will open holes for Tevin King and protect the QB enough to give them a credible shot at Brookwood. I almost would not mind Brookwood winning in order to get Gwinett Co/north GA off the hook, it will be a long and miserable year for every program up there if that title comes South again! We can afford to not have it for a year, but Gwinnett Co can not.

Buford looks like it could play with anybody. Same with Calhoun. Calhoun has more fans at this game than I’ve ever seen at the dome, and I’ve regularly attended semi-finals there in past years and the Korky Kell. Plenty of Buford fans there too. These two AA teams don’t look like they’d take a back seat to anybody, regardless of who wins.

I look at this game on paper and wonder how Colquitt could possibly win. Then I look at the coaches and see Propst, with 5 Alabama 6A titles and a GA playoff record of 7-1, against Cruise, with his gas gauge perennially on “E”, humiliated in two championships 77-14, and I know the trophy is heading south once again.

Was that a attempt at a fake punt? Or just a bad snap? Anyway, Calhoun on Buford 40 with 11 minutes to go. Now we’re told it was a bad snap of the Buford snapper. Bounced off an up back.

This is my first year as a resident of Ga. and I must say that the high school football here is impressive. Don’t know much, but I have been in Carrollton and those guys are SCARY. I am from Alabama and have seen some great teams, but this Carrollton team is on a mission. It will be tough, but I think they bring the AAA title home tomorrow.
This AA game is UNBELIEVABLE!!! And I know Probst and what he can do. Watch his team, as a matter of fact, watch him as LONG as he is at Colquitt County.

Thats funny, I have said a few times that i can’t understand how Colquitt lost to that Valdosta team. From what i saw of them they would not have made the playoffs in our Region.

Why is the state wasting money by playing state championships in the dome? It would be nice if they played in a smaller stadium where it actually looks like there is someone there. Watching the game was pitiful. The fans get lost in the place. You have to search for them to find them. Change the game to a more intimate location.

With the numbers they have to choose from, yes Buford should win. How many middle schools do their players come from? Simpson is a great Coach, but you don’t go 82 and 4 without having the benefits of big numbers to draw from. And I have said nothing about recruiting. That is not the deal, it is the population they can draw from. Just like Calhoun, with so many schools close by they have the same advantage.
