Please post your picks for the 5 championships and then we’ll review them over the weekend. If you’re picking after the 4:30 game has started, no big deal — just pick for the other 4 & rest of the weekend.

@Finish, the C-Pack I see, picking all the schools that start with a C. Yes, for that last game I have gone back and forth between Colquitt and Brookwood.

With all due respect Mr. Carvell here is why Starr’s Mill will be the AAAA Champ by 11:00 p.m. tonight.

Size matters
Starr’s Mill OL
6′5″ 230 lbs.
6′7″ 270 lbs.
6′ 250 lbs.
6′ 283 lbs.
5′11″ 305 lbs.

Chattahoochee Front Six
DE 6′1″ 215 lbs.
NG 6′2″ 235 lbs.
DE 5′11″ 207 lbs.
LB 6′ 188 lbs.
LB 6′2″ 185 lbs.
LB 5′11″ 187 lbs.

Hooch is vunerable to the run. Starr’s Mill will control the clock via the run (passing enough to keep ‘em honest) to keep the Hooch QB off of the field as much as possible. Hooch will be worn down by the second half as long as Starr’s Mill does not turn it over which they have been very good at this year. Starr’s Mill is just too physical up front.

Kudos to the Hooch QB for 30 TD’s vs. 2 picks on the year which is very impressive. His contribution will be contained by keeping him on the sidelines.

Good luck to all. Congrats to all of the players for both teams. Hope for injury free play on both sides & a safe trip home.

@Just the Facts, it has been the most unpredictable year that I can remember in the state playoffs. I really don’t see any CLEAR favorites in any of the games, except for maybe Class A. And that’s it. I’m just picking to pick.

I don’t know much about the teams in the classifications other than AAAAA. So I will make that pick.

I am taking Colquitt over Brookwood 35 -21

Expect a physical game, will alot of hard hitting. The Colquitt O will prevail over a tough D once again.

Thanks…I like watching that kid play the game…hard nosed. Was even more impressed with Starr’s Mill picking up the pieces once he was out of the game and pulling out the win. Was it a separated shoulder or collar bone injury? They showed on TV him trying to take his shoulder pads off, and he couldn’t even do that b/c of the pain.

@Just the Facts. Now the rest of the facts. You neglected to list the Hooch offensive line. By the weigh, they average 270 lbs across the line with a couple of 300lber’s. Hooch’s defensive line has been outweighed all year. still 14-0, soon to be 15-0. Chattahoocheee will find a way to win the game. GO HOOCH !!

Injury was a contusion, no break, no shoulder. This kid is as tough as nails. Hooch only has 1 of their front six that is bigger than him AND he has speed. I have not seen him get run down from behind in the open field this year.

Now that it’s known that CCHS’s outstanding WR has a broken finger, but will play, that will put them at a definie disadvantage. May be difficult to catch a pass with the support splint he has been given. Per the Moultrie Observer it was done by Dr. Andrews in Birmingham AL, a well-known sports doctor. Would have picked the Packers, but too close to call now with that news.

That OL of Hooch you are refering to will have a nice view from the sideline if they are not ON THE FIELD. That was the point.

Tommy Hudson does have a broken thumb, but he has sayed that it doesn’t hurt…and with the motivation and excitement in these Seniors, that finger is the least of his worries. For me, being from Colquitt, only 2 of these games matter. Clinch (the winner), and my Packers, a team that has received no respect from the North Georgia writers. Packers defense shocks the state…Pack wins 35-20

Never said dominate the game. Implied CONTROLLING the game. I don’t expect Starr’s Mill to dominate or blow out Hooch. Good luck.

I’m leaving work now to go get my boys out early to watch the team leave at 4:30. Panther walk is at 4:15 before they load the buses. Should be emotional. Love it!!!!!

The last time Brokewood met up with a region 1 team in the title game, we gave them a 49-7 whupping and sent them back home to the big city. History repeats itself Saturday night. Clinch brings the A crown home.

From what I’ve seen of Brookwood, they’re going to score some points. Haven’t seen Colquitt this year, but it sounds like they play a little offense too. I would expect a final score like 48 – 45, so I’ll predict Brookwood over Colquitt 13 – 7.

I’ve said It all along…and most of you are picking CC over Brookwood…Don’t underestimate Brookwood! Everybody thinks the Packers are gonna “lay the wood to Brookwood” and roll. But I think this coaching staff has something for CC.I know everyone wants CC to win and I don’t know why Brookwood Isn’t getting any respect. The haters are out In force but ya gotta remember Brookwood put Gwinnett Co. Football on the map. This Is a proud and storied program with a history and you may just have to eat your words Packers fans!

@ Viking Purple People Eater …That’s history and It’s a new day and a different program besides Brookwood Is 2-0 against CC and they went down to Valdosta In 96 and won the Championship on their field. They had never lost a Championship on their field from a north Ga team.So are you sure you wanna talk history?

Calhoun will upset Buford. Calhoun has been underestimated all season long. Everyone assumed there would be a let down with D1 recruits Darrick Rodgers and Nash Nance leaving. They have become a “team” in the truest since of the word. Now you must pick your poison carefully: QB Landon Curtis, RB Dustin Christian, or WR JT Palmer. It seems as if they just reload each season…….
