Predictions, now that i have some down time, are….

Semis:
A
Weslyan wins
Clinch wins
AA
Buford wins
Carver wins
AAA
Peach County wins
Carrollton wins
AAAA
Chattahoochie wins
Stars Mill wins
AAAAA
Grayson wins
Collins Hill wins

Finals:
A
Weslyan wins (Kyle Kiremplis is unstoppable right now and the offense is drubbing. The defense i coming off beating MR. EVERYTHING Nick Marshall, the record holder.)
AA
Burfor wins (Buford has gotten better since their loss to Carver. I mean A LOT better. Carver has trouble brewing on offense. One player does not win a championship.)
AAA
Peach County wins (more athletes and personel than Carrollton, but game will be within a couple of TD’s because Carrollton will ground and pound the football.)
AAAA
Stars Mill wins (Chattahoochie scores points in bundles, but Stars Mill’s defense will take that out of the equation. If you have not seen the defensive end from Stars Mill, you are missing out on a first year 6′6′ 260 lb. phenom at DE. Heads up Byerly! Lookout!)
AAAAA
Grayson wins (lets face it, they have dominated through the first three rounds and that defense won’t break. Heinecki will throw for over 300yds, but turnovers will be the difference in this one.)

I’ve seen every team in the semis, play, except for Wilkinson and Statesboro. However these predictions are very logical and educated guesses. I don’t see anymore blowout games at this point in the playoffs in any classification. Never the less, they are still just guesses.

Before I say this, let the truth be told that I am a die-hard Granger fan.

Now, why are there some that think Carver Columbus is just Isaiah Crowell on offense? If you havent noticed, he was nursing an ankle he hurt in the Callaway game toward the mid to late part of the year, and Marquez Holloway stepped in and had a monster game and season..he is a very capable back up.He is smaller than Crowell, but equally as fast as a straight ahead runner. The quarter back also has decent speed and takes his turn carrying the ball…but when you have an O-line that averages at LEAST 270 pounds across the line, even the TE..hey even i, at 35 can run behind that line lol..i look forward to driving to Calhoun to see some good football.

I doubt that no matter who you support, everyone knows the game of the year is peach county and sandy creek..who won the coin flip??

Grayson… Really Tucker has 3 linebackers one commuted to Stanford one to auburn and one that’s a jounior getting looked at by every sec school! Also have the best saftey in the state signed to UGA! Tucker has scored the most points in the playoffs and allowed the least amount. It obvious Tucker has the best defense

SGT Chris…The Lagrange game is a good measuring stick for how good Carver really is. Crowell was healthy and they won by 14 points. I watched the game on TV. I also watched the Carrollton vs. Lagrange game on TV. Carrollton is considerably smaller than Carver and definately lacks the amount of talent/athletes Carver has. However, Carrollton won 49-0.

People doubt Carver most likely because of coaching. Buford has improved every week since their only loss to Carver and that is a direct reflection of their coaching for the most part. I would love to see Carver end Buford’s reign in AA. A change in face of state champions every year is great for high school football. Unfortunately though, Buford plays lights out in the Dome.

I am contridicting myself here; logic would suggest that Buford will win the title again this year. But this year has been an illogical year in every classification lol. I’ll be pulling for Carver just like i’ll be pulling for Carrollton and etc. Friday night is going to be wild.

Tucker-(Loganville, Hiram, and Ware County)-31 total points allowed to those three teams by Tucker Defense…Zero contenders to win state. All games played at home.

Grayson-(North Foryth, North Gwinnett, and Valdosta)-19 total points allowed in three games by Grayson Defense (all 19 points were surrendered in one quarter to North Gwinnett)…Thats 11 out of 12 quarters of goose eggs on the score board for Grayson’s opponents. All three games were played away. Not to mention North Gwinnett and Valdosta were ranked in the top ten and contenders to win state.

It is not a matter of DIV1 talent on defense, rather the coaching and unity of the team. Grayson has the best defensive stats as a unit in AAAAA and they were supposed to be reloading this season.

Yeah I hear you, but to think that Carver was only ABLE to put 21 up on LaGrange would be like thinking you will win the lottery every week. I am a realist, and I know Carver could have score more, but I wasnt on the sideline, but I can almost guarantee Dell McGee called off the dogs against Lagrange out of rspect..whereas Carrollton had been 0-8 all time against LaGrange, so of course youre gonna try and beat down LaGrange for your first win…so I wouldnt use LaGrange as a measuring stick. Dont think that Buford is the only team getting better, being here in columbus, i have become a big fan of Crowell, wish Miami was up here trying to recruit the guy, and carver really because one of my teammates from high school is now on the carver coachng staff..pretty much the ONLY way you are going to beat carver is by throwing the ball. check their past two exits in the playoffs and they were beaten by throwing teams.

Brookwood has scored 123 points in three games, Colquitt has scored 125 points, Chattahoochie has score 110, Sandy Creek has scored 133 and only allowed 3, Weslyan has scored a 128 and Buford has scored 125…

Tucker has scored a TD or 2 more than 5 out of the 6 teams i listed, which does not make them the best “by far”. Since you said Tucker was the best scoring and defense in the playoffs all together, lets correct that by say the real answer. Sandy Creek has scored 133 points, Tucker 130 points…Sandy Creek only given up 3, Tucker 31.

Obviously we were both wrong. Sandy Creek is the best.

Well I saw Carver moving the ball on Lagrange because of Crowell, but they did not look at dominate as Carrollton did as a whole; before they ran up the score.

Buford can pass a run the ball as good as anyone in the state. Utilize the QB that commutes from Alpharetta (Alex Ross) lol and the awesome recievers Buford has, and they will beat Carver. Who knows though. Carver might win because of their QB and big recievers. Funny thing, football is. Crowell is definately the foundation of that football team though.

SGT CHRIS

yes Crowell does get the bulk of the carries and probably 90% of the yards and 100% of the publicity lol…and i was at the buford carver game, and i dont know why coach sampson was so persistent with the running game when bufords WRs were constantly open, and the TE dropped quite a few passes too i bet you jones was SORE after that game too lol!! but thats why they play the game.. wouldnt suprise me to see a calhoun/lovett AA final lol

AAAAA – Grayson finally brings it home

AAAA – Tucker hands down, the best team in Georgia in any classification. Tigers in a romp.

AAA – Peach in a squeaker over Sandy Creek in the semis, then a blowout in the title game. Peach is a peach, repeats.

AA – Carver IS strong as anyone in AA, but is not the same with Crowell dinged up. Buford gains revenge, then faces a bigger dilemma when the Wolves have to find room to squeeze another state championship trophy in the trophycase.

A – The “other” Wolves from Gwinnett have taken out the defending champs, and will cruise to a second title in three years.

Gwinnett County brings hone three of five state titles, and the bellyaching starts early.Saturday morning. Tucker’s practically next door in Dekalb, but wants to stay out of the debate. Besides, the Tigers could whip any other state titlist on any field of the opponents’ choosing. Personally, I’d like to see a Peach County-Tucker matchup.

Let the games begin.

yeah stats tell me grayson’s D is better, recruiting tells me Tucker’s is, UNTIL you read a lot of the posts throughout the playoffs on this very site. When talking about Robert Nkemdiche, sophomore defensive end, one writer claimed that he could be the best defensive player in the state. Period, including your linebackers and your safety. Peek hits like a Mack Truck and Robert’s older brother Denzel brings the hammer too. Add in spectacular plays from role players (i.e. Jesse Hogan’s one handed pic6 last week in the rain) and Id like to see a better defense. Can we give up some yards through the air? Oh God Yes! But the ultimate goal of the defense is to keep the other team off the scoreboard, and I’d say based Points allowed, we are better than Tucker.

The AAAAA championship belongs to Brookwood. Think about it. We have hosted all the playoffs game, never travel. But you can bet your ass that we will travel to he Georgia Dome and bring home the beacon.

The path to the AAAAA State championship is the Brookwood Community Stadium. Plain and simple.

Grayson, if you want a rematch to your loss earlier in the season, well bring it on when we meet you at the Dome.

There is a reason why the biggest football game in Gwinnett each year is between Brookwood and Parkview. All the other schools don’t matter, because we know we will beat them.

The biggesst football rivalry in Gwinnett is Brookwood vs. Parkview. Look it up.

Wow, it is starting early here! I don’t follow the other classifications as I have a hard enough time keeping up with my team. I am not making any wild or hard and fast predictions. I will wait until the games are over this Friday before predicting any state winners. I think we have as good a shot at state as we have ever had. I know our defense is really strong this year and especially at this time. If we continue to play near mistake free ball like we have, we will be hard to beat.

Patriot Power

December 1st, 2010
11:45 pm

While I picked Grayson over Colquitt, you can never count Colquitt out. I remember back in 1992 when Newnan was ranked 6th in the nation and was running roughshod over all their opponents, they met up with a 5-loss Colquitt team in the playoffs and Colquitt won at Newnan – Huge upset.

If a Trojan (who has a sword) and a Patriot (who has a musket) were to battle, who would win? Come on now! :) Peach vs. Sandy Creek is going to be a possible shootout. I don’t think Peach’s D will stop the Creek’s O. The question is can the Creek’s D stop Peach’s O? If so, then Sandy Creek wins comfortably. If not, then whoever gets the ball last will win.

Carrollton should romp over Burke County. Carrollton has really put in a dominating performance all season. I don’t see an 11-2 team challenging them much.

Starrs Mill has shown themselves capable of playing with anyone. I don’t care if they have never won it all before. Every repeat champion has a “first time.” I believe this will be theirs.

@ Everyone who believes Carrollton will dominate Burke Co.: let me spread a little history about the Bears. From the way it looks, seems like everyone knows about Tucker football, right. Well, The head coach (Franklin Stephens) is a true Bear himself and has made Tucker a powerhouse. But it all started from home (BC) where he kept his headup thru all kind of drama and went on to play college ball. Believe me BC always was loaded with talent we just needed a head coach that really cared about our future, and not selfish. Other than me, its many players that could have went to the next level. But, didn’t because all the caos that was going on for years with BC football. Now we have coaches that I wish I could have played for. PLEASE don’t let the 2 loses fool you. When we played Baldwin in Milledgeville, the officials gave them the game. Against (5A) Lowndes we moved the ball in the red zone about 5 times and stop ourselves. Burke have been known to upset higher ranked and higher class teams, proof is at burke.k12.ga us………….. all games broadcasted for years. Maybe around 9:45pm friday Burke will get whats due, some respect. DON’T MISS THIS ONE!!!!

Do not waste your time watching any other football game then Tucker, they have the best team in the state any class, and a couple of kids that will play on Sunday, get out to the game, years from now you will want to say I saw so and so play when he was in high school and then you can ramble on about how dominant a performance you witnessed. How hard the kids hit , how fast they move to the ball, close gaps, choose correct angles, and lay punishing contact on both sides of the ball, all game long.

You’re welcome, you’re all welcome!!

kurtGeorgia, I am biased and think that ELCA is the top team in single A. I think ELCA shot themselves in the foot against Clinch. They were winning the game into the last 2 minutes of the game, BUT, Clinch pulled it out. Now with that being said, Clinch and Wesleyan are both really good teams. I think they are both capapble of winning and will match up well against each other. If I had to pick I would call this game pretty even with just the ever so slightest edge to Clinch.

Getting closer and closer until Chattahoochee makes the 237 mile drive to Statesboro High School to visit the Blue Devils!!

It is going to be a sweeter 237 mile drive back to Johns Creek with a 14-0 group of Cougars. I know that the RB at Statesboro has been a beast the past two games (200+ yds versus Griffin and Kell) but I have faith that the Cougar defense will do their job and stop him cold.

We have a large amount of fans traveling to the game plus Georgia Southern is full of Hooch Alumni so we should have alot of blue and gold in the stands.

Collins Hill over Brookwood. CH offense is even more explosive than at the beginning of the year, when they lost in Double OT and their defense is a lot better, as well. Brookwood will put up a lot of rushing yards again, the difference will be that they will see the end zone less than they did gaem one. It’s proven that Brookwood’s defense is not very good against the pass and they are going to face the best QB in the state, bar none. CH 35 Brookwood 24. They will meet Grayson in the final.
