Ya know that it’s not that there is a win/loss record, but rather than it indicated the level of competition and how well your team played against them. That gives an indication of how your team stacks up around the division. Win/loss, computer polls, current stats just gives you a little bit of credibility and something to base a comment on rather than pulling BS completely out of your butt.

My team is better than yours!!! OH really? How excatly do you arrive at that conclusion tea leaves and a crystal ball. “Our coaches are better” REALLY based on what?? Just because you may have talked to the coach and you like him doesn’t means he can teach players to play as a team.

If you want to blog and root for your team thats wonderful!!! If you want to be taken seriously, you better had been watching game film of the other team and know how they played against other teams just so you can make a intelligent comment.

NOBODY can say for certian who is going to win the game, but you can make and educated guess and keep yourself from looking stupid.

@EnoughTuckerTrashTalk. I have to agree with @Tiger4Life, most of these posts are not even from Tucker posters, but seem like knowledgeable fans that have either played Tucker this year or seen them play. For the most part, Tucker fans are not boastful and braggarts, but we do share a confidence in this year’s team because of what we have seen them do this year on the field. The Tucker posters sound nothing like NSWR posters.

Most of believe Ware County will be a formidable opponent and when talking about High School football or any level of football, anything can happen, but this team is talented, experienced, well-coached, prepared and play together as a team. They should win, but if they don’t, we’ll be hurt, but we’ll ‘tip our cap’ to the winning team.

Hello friends. Sorta bored before the game tonight so I googled GA. High School Enrollment and came up with this info on numbers of students per schools in some 5A playoff games tonight.
Valdosta HS ( 1976 ) vs Grayson ( 2838 )
Collins Hill ( 3581 ) vs Lowndes ( 2724 )
Mill Creek ( 3005 ) vs Colquitt HS ( 2358 )
Clearly our south Georgia region 1AAAAA is doing more with much less.

I have been screaming all year how Valdosta is actually a 4A school that is playing major league ball right now, and succeeding at it. This is a special class of seniors, so I really do not give the current coach the props right now that everyone else is…..when Rick Darlington or Tomberlin (can remember which one) came in his first year….they went all the way to the state and everyone sung his praise….no less than 4 years later he was gone. The enrollment at Valdosta HS can not consistently keep up with the Lowndes and 5A schools of the world….but for this year, they are doing the darn thing.

Good luck to all teams tonight, except the teams around ATL. I say that only because the AJC is so biased toward them. It sure would be nice to have objective high school sports writers. Lots of people going to be driving lots of miles tonight, so be extra careful, and stay away from that drug known as alcohol. Oh, BTW, Cook Co. will knock the socks off Buford. Sorry, AJC, just the way it is. I know they think the “sun rises and sets” on Buford but not this year. One more thing, TN is having problems with their HS classifications and seedings also. They keep changing it, and kow-towing to the coaches. This year, after they changed it to where a team who wins their district(same as region) is seeded higher than a team with a better won-lost record, there is a team who has a 3-7 record but won their district. Lots of howling going on. Can you believe that?

Valdosta opted to play up because they have always been part of the region with Lowndes, colquitt, coffee and tift. Wouldn’t you want the winningest football program in the country in your region? Plus they are Colquitt’s biggest rival!! Been playing each other since 1913.

Hawk Fan, at least 50% of these bloggers will have to eat crow. Hope I am not one of them, but like you said “anything can happen” especially when it comes to kids. It does make us feel good to have our kids winning in a state that is pretty high ranked in high school football. All of this competition at a state level is what makes our boys so competitve nationally.
Coaching and depth is what makes the difference, our feeder systems (rec league and middle school) are getting better every year. A lot of those coaches are on the sidelines Friday night and teaching the same offense and defense as the big boys use.
Everybody on these blogs need to rember that just like football, these blogs supposed to be fun, informative and teach us some humility. That being said, I hope Fitz fans like crow, because it will be served cold here in Calhoun tonight.

Someone help me out here, is 4.4 speed the same in 1a as it is in 5a? 300 lbs is the same in all classifications? The only difference is depth, 2 deep in 285-300 lb vs 285-300 lb starters and some 250lb 2nd string. These 2a schools have made impressive showings against the 5a schools and I’d say all classifications have a couple of teams that will match up pretty good.
Now let me say that if someone without depth had to play those big buys all year they’d probably not be as healthy come playoff time.

i was told that lowndes district was cutting into valdostas city limits therefore a lot of guys that are at lowndes should really be at valdosta, and not to include the thousands of residence along bemiss highway that may become part of valdosta city limits, only time will tell. and i also googled valdosta and says its the fourth fastest growing city in g.a.
just a little food for thought

Where is the Tucker – Ware Co. game being played tonight?

Tiger4Life

November 26th, 2010
3:19 pm

@longhorn

You are correct. 100% Ware County: I watched their first two games and their last two games. You can tell how well coached and prepared a team is by asking these 2 simple questions while watching film.

1.) Are the same players making the same mistakes 6 weeks down the line?
2.) Have the coaches made any adjustments, from 1 half to next and from game to game?

Answers to questions

1.) YES!! On offense the same players are still missing the same blocking assignments, causing anemic offensive drives. When offense is shown different defensive fronts the offensive line look confused and often miss easy blocks.
They have great field position due to good defense but can’t consistently put points on the board.
On defense they’re very fast but often over pursue and their secondary is weak. There linebackers take a lot of false read steps, but due to there speed can usually recover.

2.) NO!!! Their coaches have not adjusted their play calling or schemes, they continue running the same plays hoping they will work from half to half and from game to game.

We are within 5 hours of kickoff at The Arena where the Dutchtown Bulldogs will battle with the Cougars of Chattahoochee. Next to “December in the Dome” I would have to say that spending Thanksgiving in town and watching Hooch in The Arena is the next best thing.

Dutchtown, I hope that you all have a safe drive up to Johns Creek from Hampton and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. I would also like to advise you that our parking lot is a nightmare to get out of so it is going to be a long LONG LONG ride home when after tonight once the Cougars are finshed. You will have plenty of time to play relive the game and what you could have done differnetly and plan arrangements for inventory checks on Monday afternoon.

We have all seen that the Bulldogs have a good defense and tonight it will get a chance to show its stuff as the Cougar offense is ready to run!!

Speaking of defenses, the Cougar’s defense is also ready tonight with the return of Dixon to the D-line and believe me they will all be ready to pounce!!

It is going to be cold tonight but the Hooch fans are going to be on FIRE as they cheer our boys onto another victory and one step closer to December in the Dome!!
