continued from earlier… to grayson YOU GUYS ARE A CLASS ACT… i have been watching as much as i could since we played them 2 years ago… two big feathers in the ram cap… as in the lowdnes game a couple of years ago… keeping your head and working hard can overcome a lot… of course yall are gonna hear the mouth’s of several followers in south ga but i think it will be like any other team from grayson, they will pay it no attention… it is good to see a team that puts sportsmanship up at the top along with winning…
one again congrats to starrs mill… your team looks the part and play the part… very good hosts and good luck next week with tucker… that will be a good one..
East Paulding you had a great year that alot of folks thought would not happen… you played hard all year and bounced back from a tough year last year… the future is bright and good things are going to come… to all the seniors… walk with your head high and remember all of the good things that were accomplished this season… looking forward to next season(which starts today) and the raider fans are nothing but proud… to all the remaining schools, good luck with your games in the next week… also congrats to kell and what they accomplished… great year by them as well…

I too remember they way Lowndes coaches and players acted two years ago when Grayson put them in their rightful place.
Glad to see Collins Hill do it again last night.
And glad to see Grayson shut the traps of a few bloggers here last night.

Darn, Cook and Lowndes lost so I won’t get to go to the Dome and Varsity. I enjoyed following you on AJC all year from up here in Tenn. Maybe next year. Congrats to Buford and Col Hill. Take The Championship!

Well, that was an exciting game last night anyway. So sorry my Hillgrove Hawks season has ended. They played a different game last night than last week, lots of turnovers from both teams. We made mistakes and Brookwood took advantage, they made mistakes and we didn’t take enough advantage. Brookwood out scored us and I wish them the best of luck as they go forward in the playoffs. I spent a few minutes talking to some of the Brookwood students while waiting in line and those kids were top notch.
I love high school sports cause you can feel the kids hearts with every play. Thanks for a wonderful ride boys, I’m sure gonna miss watching you play on Friday nights. Who would have ever thought that we would enter AAAAA division and compete first year let alone go this far in the playoffs. Great job boys and coaching staff. Will seem like forever untill next September, but you can bet I will be right back in the stands to cheer you on to another great season.

First let me say congrats to STATESBORO you guys played a great game on the road.good luck nxt. week against HOOCH. congrats to all the teams moveing on. were all winners to have made it to this point.LONGHORNS you had one heck of a season. Thank you to the players and the coaches for the season and the year we had. LONGHORNS you are a young team and will be hard to deal with nxt. year! again let me say good luck to all the teams remaining and congrats to STATESBORO!

jefferson–im going to try to make it up..depends on my chain of command letting me get off early enough to make the drive…like i keep saying, your defense had better have sure tacklers on the edges and in the secondary because if Crowell gets outside, he is gone..he had id estimate 130 yds on back to back runs when carver had the ball that broke thomasville’s back. he had 4 tds on the night…and number 28 his back up is no slouch either…he is smaller but more explosive and has no fear about hitting the hole wide open..if you are going to beat carver, you better have a passing game. because their lines avg 275 and theres no moving that!!

Statesboro High beat Kell High…..all these Atlanta Schools think they have the toughest region and the “Boro” comes to town and kicks their butts, year after year…….LOL…and you know the funny thing, this wasn’t even a very good Statesboro team, very young…..we will actually be better next year…LOL

hawksfan – I watched the hillgrove game on CSS (with the way we were cheering for The Hawks you would have thought Camden was playing lol) It was the location of your turnovers that killed you! Brookwoods first 2 touchdowns were drives for a total of what 20 yards? Hated to see it tell those boys to keep there heads up they have nothing to be ashamed of! And #32 wow that kid is amazing his interception was un believable and he and #42 were all over the field.

collins hill——-hope you are ready for south ga football at its finest under the lights frin night as you will take the field against one of the premier high school football programs in the state of GA. If you dont show up game will be over by halftime.
I expect a good game and wd really like to see one. after 2 blowouts in the 1st two rounds i am ready to see a decent football game

Calhoun’s got some passing game to go along with the run, very balanced. If Carver is a one trick pony, they will have the problem scoring. Should be the game of the year.

@ Jefferson: be interesting to see how Carver responds to playing a full game. Their schedule wasn’t necessarily challenging after the Buford game. If it’s anything like the Buford-Cook game last night, then it should be the game of the week for the whole state. I think the pollsters definitely had the top 4 in AA correct… be interesting to see if they got them in the right order.

I heard that the old D Coordinator for Packers was a good coach and good man, but as a old college coach he had a little too complicated of a defensive for high school boys. Now we’ve simplified it and turned’em loose with their speed and intensity.
We’re young and small but fast and “Boar-Hawg” mean!

ajc november 25 2010— It appears that everyone that will be traveling south to watch north ga play south ga fri night in high school football have completely ran every store out of kleenex and tissue. One lady, Ms Stacy kimble is highly upset about the situation. ” I am just so pissed at these people and i live in the area and go to a lot of the games, but even i have enough since to know that it would be wise to stay home and not waste my time watching them south ga boys cream our na ga kids” ” Now i cant even get me a box of kleenex til next week” As for the fans that are going, we asked one lady why everyone is buying a box of kleenex? Response, “Why ask a dumb question?, we are preparing for the long sad ride home” People down south, from the ajc hearts to yours, please be kind to us north georgians before and after game, please!!

Carver isn’t a one trick pony they just don’t have to use anything else they run an score an score on defense …. hard to say I’ve seen a better assembled D with Wright an the Jr # 91 taking up the line Davis running the backers an Bonner d1 safety roaming the middle wit an sec corner on either side …. needless to say Buford couldn’t score Lagrange only scored 3 against that D

Congrats, boys, for a FANTASTIC season!!!
Back in August, no one gave you a chance to go this far. You accomplished so much this year in your FIRST YEAR in 5A competition. Hold your heads high! With such fine leadership, boosters, fans, administration, chearleaders, band, parents and PLAYERS, great things are definitely coming for the Hillgrove program.
We look forward to 2011-2012 and another great year of ball played with integrity, sportsmanship and enthusiasm.

Lowndes County and Valdosta have scheduled a scrimmage (?) game for next Friday. The winner wants to play Camden County for the south ga Championship. Coach McPherson of CC told both to get over it——-It’s basketball season for them.

Mmmmm… Can you taste it number 8? Carver is between you and the dome. Retribution. Whatcha gonna do? Calhouns D must be licking their chops right about now. If they lose, they were supposed to, if they win, they will be fired up even more. That line looked solid last night, only gave up 6 with the starters in. Not taking anything away from the offense, they get stronger as the game goes on.

Congratulations to Clinch for a hard fought game last night, hat tip to the officials who I thought called a good game. I was a little worried going down there and didn’t know what to expect from the officials but they called a fair and square game. It was a shame that the two best teams in single A had to face off last night. ELCA has proven that belong in the top of single A in the past two years. I think their record is something like 21-3. ELCA was winning with less than 2 minutes to go but Clinch fought hard and never gave up. Great job to both teams.

“Good Fan”, Tucker has no “home field” sorry to say. The community deserves one. They play around DeKalb mostly at Adams Stadium but sometimes move the larger games to Halford (Memorial). They are used to travel and hardship as they have had no gym, workout room, practice field and even full school building for the last two years. That being said, the new school building is almost finished and looks great! Go Tigers!
