Grady Knights…I tip my hat to you! You guys are very talented and I know we have one of the best running backs in the state…but Marcus Caffey is a REALLY good one as well. Your defense was on of the fastest and biggest we have played all year.

And now for my Trojans…we NEEDED a game like this to see how we would respond…we dug deep and found a way to win and it was not a pretty win but it was effective enough to move ahead. The game against Sandy Creek should be EPIC!!!

I said it last week after Grayson beat North. Grayson will win the AAAAA championship. Their defense is impressive and their offense is now much improved.

South GA should appreciate their style of play. Physical defense and Wing T offense. (Sounds like Lowndes and Camden). No wonder they beat North Gwinnett.

How in the world did Gwinnet get so strong in football? Shoot Region 8 is five times stronger than Region 1. I know Valdosta won some mythical national titles back in the 60s but what about today?

Starrs Mill, congratulations as you out coached us and out played us hands down tonight!!!! Your offense is strong and the defense even stronger. We were out of it after the “muffed” punt and you took advantage of that as a great team should. Tonight was why I personally thought that East would not do as well as they did as this is the team that I saw at Chapel Hill in the jamboree. They proved me wrong and played well all year long and have no reason to hang their heads low even with a shutout. The were beaten by probably the best 4A team in GA and I am sure they will prove that in two weeks. So East, you did well and all of Paulding County are proud of you and your efforts! I agree with an earlier post…this is a young team and will be back next year! I am very disappointed at the majority of our fans leaving early and showing the boys that you were dissatisfied with their performance.

Well, Kell lost.

I can complain about the weather playing a factor.
I can complain about the coaching and decision making
I can complain about the refs missing penalties and making bad spots.

But none of it matters, because Statesboro just plain outplayed ‘em. Gotta watch out for them the rest of the way. Their defense was awesome, and the offense is well rounded. Shocked me, but I was shocked when they beat Griffin also. Great job Kell, definitely a memorable season.

Brookwood (3433 students) v. Hillgrove (1933)
Grayson (2571) v. Valdosta (1858)
Collins Hill (3335) v. Lowndes (2809)
Colquitt Co. (2288) v. Mill Creek (3361)

Note to self: Maybe these classifications don’t make sense……maybe we should fix or add a classification. Wait…..CC overcame a 1000 student difference. Nope, everything is fine with it.

Heck of a game at Lowndes tonite. The Vikings missed their opportunities to win it and Collins Hill took advantage of it. A couple of lucky breaks for Collins Hill, especially the missed snap that was picked up and thrown for a TD. And the missed field goal in OT that Lowndes missed. But give credit where it is due. Heinicke and the Collins Hill offense were hot with the passing game and a thrill to watch. Congratulations Collins Hill.

Gwinnett teams seem to judge how successful their seasons are by whether or not they beat Lowndes, Valdosta, or Camden. That just shows how good those three teams are, otherwise, they would not get so excited over the victory. Teams you love to hate are usually hated because they are so good. One day people may judge how well their football team does by whether or not they beat a Gwinnett team, but they are not at that level yet. BTW, I am a fan of none of these teams.

PEACH COUNTY IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE STATE OF GA. BY FAR. FOR ALL YOU PEACH COUNTY HATERS I TOLD YOU WE WERE GOING TO MAKE A STATEMENT FOR THE REST OF AAA TEAMS. I SEE KNOW ONE HAVE MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THEM AND THE GAME THEY PLAYED TONITE AND THAT’S FINE JUST RESPECT THEM!!!!!! I THINK THAT THIS COIN FLIPPING BUSINESS IS A BUNCH OF STUFF THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED BY GA HIGH SCHOOL ASS. I. IF YOU ARE #1 AND NO LOSSES THERE SHOULDN’T BE NO COIN FLIPPING, I OUT RANK YOU AND THAT’S END OF DISCUSSION. BUT ANYWAY GO TROJANS AND BRING ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP HOME FOR THE VALLEY. REMEMBER HATERS WE ARE YOUNG AND WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR PLEASE BELIEVE IT!!!!!!

WildCat12. Of course you are welcome. I think posters have repeatedly stated tonight, in the past, and over the years, that Camden is a class program. The team, coaches and fans are football enthusiasts first. That is truly appreciated.

It is a bit hard to contain the exuberance over the performance by Gwinnett teams especially after all the trash talk by posters from Lowndes County and NSWR.

It would be really nice if in the future we can talk about football, without all of the other nonsense. But I think there was a little “pay back” long overdue to the folks from Lowndes County.

Please do not let the irrational exuberance deter you from expressing your opinion on the board in the future. Everyone is welcome here, and it would be very nice if we can have spirited but enjoyable conversations about football in the future.

Personally, I watched the Thrashers trounce the Canadians this evening. I expected Gwinnett to do well, winning at least 2 of the games, with a good chance at 4. But I was still excited to read the scores in the games from all 6 Gwinnett teams, especially after the nonsense from 1AAAAA this season. It is now obvious that their main claim to fame, was that they did not have to face any Gwinnett teams until this round. It would also be nice in the future, if GHSA did not schedule the playoffs so that Gwinnett teams HAVE to knock each other off in the 2nd round.

Someone commented on the Grayson Wing-T. I would have to say that it is a bit of a hybrid. North did not have much trouble with their running game, and Grayson’s big plays came from the passing attack. Grayson seems to use the running game to control the clock. The big strikes did not come because the run sucked in the defense, but rather because Schuessler is has a good arm and a couple of excellent receivers. Maybe, the running attack works differently against other defenses; but against North, it was the passing attack that either put points on the board or setup the field position to put points on the board with a run or kick. Grayson is just that good.

Congratulations to all teams that made the playoffs, and especially to the teams that have performed so well. Once again Georgia football lives up to expectations with some very exciting football by outstanding kids and their coaches. With only 1 winner per division, there are an awful lot of superior teams, players and coaches who have had highly successful seasons even if though most of them will not get championship rings.

Cairo has a super fast defense but i was a little disappointed in their offense. The QB was average at best. Had the qb play been better cairo would have been playing for state, #9 wr is a burner! dose anybody know what grade he’s in………bottom line carrollton wanted it more than cairo tonight. the two second half turnover killed the syrupmakers. Carrollton’s defense is one of the best in the state and cairo seen that tonight. 17-0 carrollton. GO TROJANS!!!!!

You were bragging, and bashing, and being very unpolite. Now, still name the people that were so unkind to you. Now that the games are over, there are some recent Gwinnett cheap shot bloggers, yes. I hear you Bad Boy 1. Unfortunately, we have some that tend to talk big on boards that we have to overcome sometimes. I would say that the same is true of many schools on this board though. Again, congrats to CH. They played a heck of a game tonight. That’s a long drive from Valdosta to Gwinnett County. I’m sure it is a lot easier after a big win. Grayson and CH should join up somewhere and make it a huge caravan headed back.

Safe travels and good luck to you next week.

BigBee, you have to remember, this is Ga. high school football not BCS college football. The polls mean nothing here as it should be. If you remember, earlier in the season Sandy Creek was ranked #1 but dropped without ever losing. Bottom line is, wheather it is played at Sandy Creek or at Peach County, the winner will have to be at the top of their game and it will be a great battle.
