It’s playoff time!!! Look for the McEachern Indians to stomp East Coweta at home. It will not be close. Next week, we have the winner of the Valdosta vs Windsor Forest game. Good luck to all teams and congratulations on this major accomplishment. This is a big deal!!!

BulldawgBite I must agree with you. McEachern has not played that great as of Late. Nonetheless,This is a very good team when they need to be. Hence, several last minute victories. These young men have no quit in them.
Good Luck to ALL HS play off teams.

I can’t wait for friday. I’ve been hearing how McEachern has played anyone since the Lowndes game, and also how they have been held in check the last few weeks. I think most think McEachern will probably win friday night, but they think it will be a tight game. I believe that as long as McEachern holds on to the ball without giving up any turnovers, I think they will win this game making a statement to all those who doubted. I even was critical of the defense until I gave it some thought. When you have a offense that scores with the ease that they have all year, the defense will become complacent and not stay focuse at times. The offense will also not always stay focused by preventing turnovers by with not protecting the ball. I think the state will see a complete team, a dominant team on friday. Good luck and health to all teams and families as they travel this week.
@78IndianFatherMceachern… I assume by your name 78 is you son. From everything I hear from the kids on the team your son is one of leaders on this team. I’ve also watched him play and he is a BEAST! You should be proud! Good luck and let’s enjoy friday night!

Good luck to your Indians, Indian Chief. Ya’ll should win with ease this week if you hold on to the ball. You certainly have the athletes! If McEachern is good enough to get by Valdosta the 2nd week, then I think you can also take NG!
Good luck to ya’ll, too, Newnan fans! Your team has played really good ball the 2nd half of the season. Hope we get to play a classy team like ya’ll in the 2nd game.
Wolverine2Blazer – Good luck at CH. Are you gonna get to go to the game or will you be at Cleveland Field Friday night?
Good luck to all 1-AAAAA teams as well as Cook, Ware, Clinch, TCC, Thomasville and Folkston’s finest! Coffee and Colquitt fans. Be careful and safe traveling tomorrow.

Camden fans – Thanks for your support for Lowndes. We pull for you guys too, course this week we kinda have to bite our lips because you ARE playing a 1-AAAAA team. Coffee can play you close for a 1/2 but ya’ll will win going away with a strong 2nd half. See ya’ll in the semi’s.
YO, VIKING 68, AND LOWNDES 96 – Did ya’ll see my post last night about this year’s passing stats? Teams have passed 277 times on us, completing only 120. They threw for 8 TD’s but we intercepted 14 times. That’s almost unreal when you consider two teams barely passed on us, and three of our DB’s have been hurt since the Ware game. (TH has had a hamstring problem all year.) And here’s the really amazing part. We passed for 1100 yards, 14 TD’s and only had 4 interceptions. Not bad for a Wing T team.
I have watched our “camp like” practices the last two weeks. All of our DB’s appear to be healthy and 100%, even TH. If you missed those practices you will be pleasantly surprised with what you see tomorrow night.
OH, an update. West Alabama 16 VSU 15. VSU has had a field goal and two extra points BLOCKED! Late 3rd quarter.

I am a new comer to these boards and I am very confused. Maybe there are some on the boards that can help me out?
I have witnessed some members on the boards that are proud of their teams and believe in their team’s ability to beat any and all. Even though (in some cases) it is very obvious that they are looking through the world with HOMER glasses. And yet, there isn’t any retort from the usual “don’t trash talk because we have championships and you don’t” fans!! BUT, if certain fans of particular teams display their team pride, there is the “don’t talk. . .you are losers. . . .win something first!!!!”
Please help me out with this one. I am trying to learn the discussion board etiquette.

A couple weeks ago, someone mentioned the old region championship games, which in fact would have been held this weekend.
Region playoffs are long gone and the GHSAA brings teams four deep from each region for the playoffs. I like this current system better because it spreads the wealth – and the opportunity for redemption – to so many teams.
Even though each year we see a lot of #1-#4 mismatches, we also see a few fourth seeds knocking off a few region champions. The AJC ran a piece elsewhere that gave some very interesting numbers.
Two years ago, #4 seeds won 8 first-round games out of 40 played. Although a .200 winning percentage may sound low, I think it sounds pretty sweet compared to the .000 that most rational people probably expected!
For this weekend’s games, the AJC predicted only one #4-over-#1 outcome – what’s that, a predicted .975 win rate for the #1’s? Now that is a rational prediction and it’s about what most of us expect.
And like every other year, there are bound to be a couple of #4 seeds who show up ready to confound expectations under the lights tonight.
Conclusion: it’s a good thing the games are played on grass and not on paper!
And thanks, by the way, to the GHSAA for opening the door to #4! Best of luck and safe travels to everyone tonight.
