@GA Joke………..That’s a bunch of BS! I live in Texas and watch Texas HS football all the time, the top ten in Ga. can compete with any HS team in Texas, period!!!! And the 2008 and 2009 Camden teams would have been in the Texas 5A championship game! I can’t say about this year’s team, they turn the ball over too much!

Camden74, I sleep fine but if I played your schedule I would probably skip the 3rd drink and would be in bed earlier:) I pull for the Atlanta teams, usually Gwinnett, didn’t go to high school here. But you have to admit, if any other GHSA team in AAAAA had a choice, they would love to play your team’s schedule year after year and have home field advantage. It isn’t a knock against your team as much as how they get through they playoffs year after year. So yea, I am jealous of the cupcake schedule if I was a coach in AAAAA.

iTiSi and montanto, who do you people root for. You clowns sound new to me. The reason Camden plays who they play is because there is not a HS team in GA. that wants to put a blemish on their record during the regular season. Thats’s right, those central and north georgia teams will not even take a big purse to come play us, let alone put Camden on their regular schedule and invite them to their house. Camden challenges themselves and goes looking for competition out of state because no one wants to knock heads with them. Why do you think Valdosta and Lowndes stopped their scrimmages? Byrnes, S.C.; Hoover, Alabama; Miami Central and St Thomas Aquinas of Florida I have not seeeen another single Georgia football team from any other class man-up and challenge these perrinial National Powerhouses year after year. Until any other school can put someone like that on their schedule, shut your trap because you don’t know lick!!!

I love how all these Camden people come back with “whos your team?” Stop trying to change the argument by asking about who “your” team is. Look at your schedule and give an honest opinion.

I think we are all jealous. I bet Alabama is jealous of Boises schedule. They would probably have 8 shutouts and put 100 points on a couple of teams.

Just say it, its a cupcake schedule and a HUGE advantage come playoff time. Its a cake walk to a #1 seed which means home field advantage and the team will be as healthy as any team they will face…and its not because its their year, or because they are lucky, its because they play weaklings most of the season. No diversions. No misdirection. Just analyze it and give the honest truth that is there.

I think Camden is a good if not great team that can compete with any team in the state. But I also think Camden gets an unfair advantage in November. By the way, my team isnt in competition with Camden, so i’m just calling it like I see it. I think Boise is a good, of not great team, but any fool can see, even a fan from Idaho, that their schedule is a cake walk. What makes Camden worse though is that cake walk gets them to the playoffs healthy. Of course, NCAA D1 has no playoffs.

Lets be realistic. There isnt any powerhouse team that wouldnt trade schedules with Camden in a heartbeat. Theres no shame in admitting that. I will pull for them to lose in the playoffs for the same reason I will pull for Boise to lose. They didnt have to prove themselves to get there. And I dont really care about Boise or Camden.

@PDF…I agree after watching the game. No discredit to Stephenson…Mike Davis is the real deal. I did not see any signs of life in the passing game from Stephenson or Newnan. I think the play calling got conservative once Newnan had the lead in the second half. The last two series made no sense. I understand Newnan is a run orriented team but when your down by 3 points in the final minutes of a game, you do not run the ball on first and second down. And then run pass plays that are not designed for long yardage situations, on third and fourth down.

However, i do not think Stephenson can handle a serious pass threat. I even predicted that Collins Hill would beat Norcross simply because Norcross can not handle a serious pass threat even with all their D-1 athletes all over the field.

Now i did see Stephenson stumble the first half on offense because they could not handle a snap or hold on to the football, but every team has nights like that. Even with that, Newnan just fell asleep at the wheel and Stephenson capatilized. I was very impressed by their running game.

However, i do not think Stephenson can handle a serious pass threat. I even predicted that Collins Hill would beat Norcross simply because Norcross can not handle a serious pass threat even with all their D-1 athletes all over the field. They won 42-0.

With that being said, good win for Stephenson. Keep truckin. NG on the other hand did not look like North tonight. They dominated all game obviously but the offense seemed to be sluggish. IMO i think the play calling was conservative but who am i to judge. Our QB tandom did their usuall damage and our ground game was solid once again, balanced with TD passes. No suprise once again our Defense was lights out. That’s been NG’s M.O. all season. They have only allowed three TD’s and one field goal (with one of those TD’s scored on NG’s third string D) in the last five games.

One last shout out. Congrats to NG bringing home their second REGION 7-AAAAA CHAMPIONSHIP in as many years. Coach Sphire has built this program into a perrenial power house from nothing and only better things can come.

Stephenson Congrats to your program and your second as well. I hope we can meet in the playoffs for a game for the ages.

No1 can make an argument now, that Collins Hill’s QB is not the best in AAAAA. Look at the stats. Look at how he has guided his team from a 1-3 start and cruised through region competition to their present 6-3 record. I would vote him player of the year in AAAAA if i could. He is the heart and sole of that team. 32 TD’s 3 INTs with 1 rushing TD, and around 2,600 or 2,700 yds passing. This Collins Hill team is peaking at the right time and will suprise teams in the playoffs.

Where is Norcross?? I think they are still looking for their mouth pieces cuz they got HAMMERED.

jcwfalcon, roger, and iTisi get your facts straight before you put Camden on blast. First of all Camden has been playing in the region for over 30 yrs. When camden was 2nd or 3rd best in this same region nobody had nothing to say about camden playing football in this region. Now since camden had dominated the region for last 10 yrs, now no non- sense football bloggers like yourself that has no knowledge Ga high school football history get on here and make stupid remarks about camden football. Camden fans knows that they dont have the best region in the state, you think camden fans enjoy going to watch blow outs no, we enjoy watching intense out states games or when we play a region 1 teams or playoffs games. Its not Camden fault the rest of region has not elevated their level of play over the years in football or that savannah schools choose to stay in 5-A. At the same time you don’t see Camden fans crying on the basketball blogs about when these same savannah schools are whipping their butts in Basketball do you; and that the reason why savannah choose to stay in class 5-A because of basketball.Camden would love to play football in region 1 we definitely not scared of anybody in this state or nation for matter and allow our other sports to stay in region 3 and as you know ghsa will not allow that. Football can afford that expense other non-revenue sports cant. And before you or anybody else says the football travels far and out state to play other national rank teams guessing by your blog name and I think read some of your blogs before in the past you affiliate yourself with Dacula Falcons a team that never experience any national tv exposure you would know ESPN helps pays some of the expenses with a nice check.

Comparing Camden to Boise St I will tell you the difference, yea you can say Camden plays 2 to 3 hard games before they get in the playoffs. Well with myself being a big sec fan I would agree that Boise st will not survive a Sec schedule. I hate the fact that Boise st plays two good teams and want to play for the national title. The things I love about high school football we have a playoff system. You have to win 5 games to become state champions for the last two yrs nobody has stop them from doing it. Region champions from other regions, playing on the road, playing at neutral site it doesn’t matter. Believe me when I say this Camden has just as much injuries as anybody else in the state. Just because you’re playing an inferior team doesn’t mean you won’t have injuries, yes Camden plays its JV and freshman teams a lot and so does other good teams around the state. Camden state championships teams 03, 08, 09 would have won the region championship in any region in 5-A those years. If you think Camden is soft beat on the field, if you think Camden is at disadvantage for not playing in a strong region beat them on the field. I get tried year after year people making excuses on why Camden wins. And if you do a little research Camden only team in 5-A that has a weak region. Take McEachern out of region 4 this that region is soft. Region 6 is this year just as bad Camden’s, take Region 7 take away North Gwinnett and Collins Hill the rest of that is terrible this year. In class 5-A region 2, 5, 8 or some what balance or competitive. Boise St would get my respect if division 1 football has a playoff system just like high school football does and runs the table, then you cant say their not the best if they run thru Alabama , Auburn, Ohio St or any teams of statue.

GT Vet I sincerely HOPE that Calhoun has a chance to run up against Carver (Columbus). I have no doubt that the Kirby kid is an excellent player, but you HAVE NO IDEA how good Isaiah Crowell truly is. Let’s just say that UGA & ALABAMA both know how good he is (The two schools still in the running for his services). He’s already beyond a shadow of ANY doubt THE Player of the Year and he’s the best Running Back in the SOUTH (not just the state). Carver WILL be in the Dome……. hopefully Calhoun will be also. And as for you mentioning that he’s ALL they have…… also not true sir. He has been sitting out the last two games nursing nagging injuries and resting and Carver has been DOMINANT. First off….. they don’t allow POINTS (ask Buford). Second…. they have other Offensive Weapons. Good luck to Calhoun. “GO DAWGS!”

Tift Co presented a blueprint on how to attack Lowndes, I really hate to see such conservative Wing-T football when you have some of the best and most athletic receivers (Durden, Clemons) in the state. Even if they dropped a few, you still must take what the defense gives you. Let your horses out of the stable!

Simply put, they got caught with their pants down (and pink on)and Tift gave it to them. I hope they use this as motivation for the playoffs.

And last for all you crazy people that’s says Georgia top tiers teams cant play with the likes of Florida, Texas, California man get out here with that non-sense. Check Camden’s overall record over the last 15 yrs or so going against Florida schools. Camden can play anywhere in this nation. Florida has the best high school football in the nation hands down that I seen this year; overall in head to head match ups Florida whipped Texas butt this year and most of the time the Florida schools went to travel to Texas. Camden being in Florida back door we are aware of the type of talent that is down there and that state produces that Camden always tries to play a team from that state they play a different type of ball down that way and their teams have just as much speed or more than Camden’s. Why are all big time colleges trying to run Florida to get talent? Tell Bama, Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida State and Florida to stay out of Georgia if don’t have talent or can’t play good team ball. Only thing that is big in Texas is the soil they live on and their mouths. Yea Texas and California produce a lot talent but so does Georgia not to mention look at the size of those states compare to Georgia and Florida, but Texas and California TEAMS are so overrated watching them play on ESPN just not that impress with all the hype that they get. Georgia did well this year going against out of state teams, the ones that not afraid to cross that state line. I can’t wait until playoffs get here. The blogs will be a whole quieter after the 2nd round taking out all these pretenders away from the contenders.

The Peach County Trojans scored early and often, ruining Senior Night for the Howard Huskies and rolling to a 52-7 win Friday night at the Ed DeFore Sports Complex.

Travis Richmond ran for two first-half touchdowns and threw for another, and the Trojans’ defense held the Huskies to minus-7 total yards en route to 39-0 halftime advantage. For the game, the Trojans allowed just 26 total yards, picked up a safety and forced four turnovers.

The win ran the winning streak for the defending state champions to 24 in a row and leaves Baldwin as the final speed bump on the road to a second consecutive undefeated regular season. Campbell was quick to downplay the streak’s significance.

“Starting next week the streak doesn’t matter,” Campbell said. “The only thing we worry about is making it 30 straight, because that means another state title.

I dont understand why everyone feels the need to criticize Lowndes and then talk trash when a team that most of you people on here don’t even cheer for beats us. None of us claimed to be invincible. Also please note that not all Lowndes fans that post on this site make excuses for our team. We did not play well and it shows in the score. End of story. Also, Camden does not deserve the criticism either. Be careful what you post. Don’t you people realize you’re talking about high school aged children here. Must be that time of year! Time for the Camden bashers to come out! Before the 2003 state championship all we ever heard was that Camden could never win a state title because of there weak region, 3 state titles later it is an advantage? All they do is play who the GHSA says and then schedule the toughest out of region games it can find! As the saying goes don’t hate the player hate the game. You can put an asterik next to all the state titles you want we will take it. Go Cats!

Prouad Football Mama, I support your statements and through out the season have maintained that thought these kids leave it all on the field and don’t deserve the talk that happens sometimes on this board. Winning and losing isn’t what its all about itsjust a portion. Good sportsmanship, fairplay, and team effort is just as important. Many posters here should learn from the players.

Game of the week in week 11:

#3 Clarke Central (9-0) PF-44 PA-13
#6 Flowery Branch (9-0) PF 39 PA 11 (My pick to win AAAA)

As my posts about Camden and their schedule are legendary lol…i just have one question. I know when we won state in 91 after a 33 year drought at LaGrange, that money that the football team brought in was used by the entire athletic dept as a whole. All other sports teams got new uniforms, equipment etc, etc. So I am just asking if that goes on at Camden? Because I find it hard to believe that a county with ONE high school would say they dont have the funding to support the other sports. Now take Muscogee county (Columbus), where there are like 8 public high schools, and my daughter who is in the band at Hardaway, can only go on ONE away game the entire season due to budget concerns that seems like more of a problem. Im just asking a question. I know times are hard but it seems like more could be done with less in my opinion.
