The AJC’s ‘Believe It or Not’ category for high school football

Brookwood soccer-turned-football star Erick Yang has an unusual talent.

Yang can kick with both feet. Well, his right foot is stronger than his left, but he can kick off with either. Earlier this season against Central Gwinnett, Yang kicked off with his right foot. Three sailed out of the back of the end zone, including one through the goalposts.

Another time vs. Central, Yang decided to give it a try with his left foot on a kickoff. It landed around the 15-yard line.

Yang said the longest field goal he has made at practice with his right foot is 60 yards. What about his left? “Maybe 45 yards, I don’t know, I’m not good enough with that foot yet,” he said.

What’s the coolest trick you’ve seen someone do with a football? Please post below.

#1 HOOK AND LADDER aginst Northside on Lowndes’ winning drive in the 31-28 come back win in the Georgia dome semi’s in 1999.

#2 Lowndes QB tossing the ball to the referee after taking a knee on the game’s last play against Parkview in the famed Orange Jungle in 2004.

Watching Kanan Parkman of UGA fame while a senior at Stone Mountain kick 100 50 yard field goals from the four 40 yard line hash marks and only missing two, the Wednesday before Stone mountain played Lowndes. (Lowndes kicker kicked a field goal on Friday night to win the game.)

I know you’re probably looking @ HS, but Doug Flutie drop-kicking an extra point in the NFL was impressive.
