dawgonit,
Just back away from the computer, you are making us look even worse with the whining. Our team got it handed to us and acted inappropriately from the minute we arrived. It was sad to see and I am more than pissed off at the NP coaching staff. They lost control of the team and even showed their asses. The whole handshake thing was how it should have been, I saw with my own eyes Sherrifs and the EP administration point the players toward the endzone, it would of ended even worse had they shaked hands. NP took cheap shots all night and ran their mouths, I would have loved to see us drill EP but we didn’t and we looked bad in the process of getting it handed to us.
EP also used about 5 different running backs the last two quarters as well as new guys on D, because I specifically noted another sophomore Rb they had out there besides 28. They played plenty of players but like before it seems like your vision was blurred. After seeing how much Reid would run up scores in the past I’m really surprised he didn’t, because they sure could have. We at North have a lot to learn and the coaching staff needs to get a hold of their players. It was embarrassing.

Kell fan…
Kell has Pope, Sprayberry, Osborne & North Paulding left on your schedule…even IF Kell loses one of these 4 games and EAST wins out you still win the Region…after seeing North Paulding friday night no way they beat KELL, and not yet seeing Sprayberry (EAST plays at Sprayberry this week),
or Pope it appears one of these two teams have the best shot at an upset win over KELL…
of course you can always let OSBORNE beat you, that would make their season!!! Hmmm…NAH!!!
So yeah I will go ahead a call KELL the REGION 5NAAAA Champs “in waiting”!!!
I think it’s lookig like EAST at #2, HIRAM #3, North Paulding (for now) #4…Pope & Sprayberry may have something to say about the #3 & #4 spot!!!

Good Post…Hopefully North Paulding learns from this game…you still have HIRAM, POPE, OSBORNE, & KELL left, 2 at home & 2 away. Win the two home games, HIRAM this week and Osborne in 2 weeks then even with losses at POPE & KELL you have a 6 / 3 season…NOTHING to be ashamed of!!! Think REAL positive and upset either POPE or KELL (sorry KELL FAN) and look where you are…probably in the playoffs!!!
EAST fans will be pulling for you against HIRAM as that helps us in the standings…

Cannon Rules; I saw North play Sprayberry and Sprayberry definitely isn’t capable of beating Kell or East or Hiram. I’ve not seen Pope play and to me they are the unknown factor in the region right now. Not sure if they are a sleeper or if they just have not had to play a tough game yet. Either way I think that the EP/Hiram game ultimately will decide who gets the second seed in the region and ultimately a first round home game. (no disrespect to the south sub region intended),
Not looking too far ahead but doing so anyway. It looks like Region 5AAAA could do very well against Region 7 (chatthoochee, rome, south forseyth, sequoyah, lambert, johns creek, cass) in round #1 but round 2 will probably be against opponents from Region 6(Tucker, Marist, Mays, SWD) as I can’t see region 8(flowery branch, clarke central, logan ville, apalachee) putting up much of a tussle against 6 in the first round.

Well said WOLFPACK. I waw really suprised. I have been involved in EP the program for the last 4 years and will be for some time in that I have a junior and 8th grader playing. Many on the outside looking in are jealous and dont know all the facts. They go to a bunch of rumor mill websites (won’t name it here) and vent.
We have our problems, but for the most part are growing into a better program. Even the coaches are growing. I spent a week with this team in Florida at FB camp and they really love each other and are a family. They play for each other and the school.
The EP team is young and will only get better. The future looks bright.

cchswildcat86,,I think we win in a close one, but we must be mistake free. I don’t St Thomas has the athletes Miami Central had, but a more sound football team. Secondary must hold up. Central had 14 points off our TO’s. So that can’t happen. 1st down will be very important, must continue have positive yards on 1st downs, thats makes converting 2nd and 3rd that much more easier. We will be ok. Are you going to the game. The staduim is very small only holds 4500 and we got only a 1000 tickets and they are nearly gone. I heard they may call and ask for more. I’m going leaving Thursday, I got plenty of family in the area, a sister and her family along with aunts, uncles, and cousins. So this will give my family a little time to visit this weekend.

SGTCHRIS i watch the grangers videos and you’re right those teams had mismatches all over the field. 3 DB and a LB trying to cover 4-5 WR, can only work if you blitz. To me on offence your best playmakers are your WR those guys can catch the ball.

I think pope is def. the sleeper in this. I see them being the num 3 seed behind kell and E.P Then hiram N.P and sprayberry competing for the num. 4 spot. What im not sure about is how the region play in works.does the num.1 seed from A play B and that gives you the num. 1-2 spot from our region? If thats true does that mean only the top 2 teams from A-B make the playoffs?

@Titletown Fan, I agree that some players have been bust. But that’s a part of recruiting, no one hits the jack pot every time. Besides, whether or not a player lives up to expectations or not depends on many factors. There could be personality, system, environmental or the player might have been just plain over rated! I would rather have good players from winning programs who know how and what it takes to win, than a group of super stars whose egos won’t allow them to play together and win. I believe there are many factors that go into building a winning program. In my opinion, the intangibles are just as important as the obvious physical abilities.

North Paulding came into the Boneyard Friday night, got punched in the mouth and never responded. The Wolfpack drove all the way down to EP’s 2 yard line twice in the game and was never able to punch it in, from the two yard line folks. I said all week that if North Paulding wasn’t able to run the ball it would be a long night at the Boneyard. Well it was indeed a long night for the wolfpack and they found out right quick like what its like to play a playoff caliber team and an offense and defense that will hit you in the mouth. So for the NP posters on here that say you all have a Passing game that can’t be stopped just remember back to the Raider Defense shutting down those 4 good WR you have. Connely never made it into the endzone, and your QB kept having to pick his self up off the ground play after play. If North Paulding can ever become a tough and physical team they will be a team to be reckoned with.

@ War Eagle. Maybe i shouldnt say bad coaching because they are winning. He found a way to choked in the dome with a super stud team. My daughter could’ve coached that team and she’s only seven. Most of his assistant coaches don’t care for him. I’m just not convinced that he’s as good as makes himself out to be. Time will tell.

@ THE DOC………… U are probably the only person on the PLANET that feels like Tucker has bad coaching. Since the coach Stephens era started Tuckers record is 41 wins and 5 losses with a state championship victory..and loss in the final 4 to Northside Warner Robins by 3 points who was clearly the best team in GA that year not to mention ranked 15th in the nation and last year went to the second round with a very young not Tucker like team and lost to the eventual champions Sandy Creek…wat are you talking about like seriously.

Kell fan .. TOp team from north and south play for region champion and top 2 seeds going into state. 2nd from north plays 3rd from south and visa vera. The best can be 3 teamsfrom one sub region. Don’t know anything about Pope but Kell looks too strong after downing EP and Hiram not to win the north. 2nd and 3rd should be between EP, Hiram, and Pope. As for the south, it is really alot weaker with Lithia Springs probably out front and Douglas Couny and Villa Rica being the other 2. Predict 3 from north and 1 from soth to state.

RealisticEPFAn .. don’t underestimate 8AAAA. They put 3 in quarter finals last year while 6AAAA choked as usual. Tucker would be the worst for the 4th seed from 5AAAA

@The Doc — Not sure I’d call the 2007 loss by Tucker to Warner Robbins in the state championship a “choke.” Yes, Tucker had a good lead at halftime, but that 2007 WR team was loaded — some would argue it was the best GA high school team in the last decade. I’m not a Tucker supporter, but I’ve been impressed with the results every year of the current Tucker head coach. I don’t know enough about the rest of the Tucker coaching staff to make an informed judgment about them, but something good seems to be happening there. If they lose in the playoffs, I’d be surprised if it is because they are not well coached.

Purple and Gold — Region 6AAAA “choked as usual”. What are you talking about? Yes, in 2009 6AAAA did not fare well against 8AAAA; kudos to your region for last year. BUT, in 2008, Tucker and Marist were in the finals and Marist won earlier in the decade and both have been to several final fours the last decade. I don’t think Region 6AAAA has “choked” many years — instead, the facts show that Region 6AAAA has been a dominant force for most years.

@cchswildcat86,,I may be a little late, but yes I will be there. I think I know who you are, does your son play on the JV team. And if so, does your name start with letters BC and you played offensive line for us under Coach Thombs. Also my name starts with the letters E.P and I played defensive back and wore the #5, we spoke at the game a few weeks ago. Also I saw our QB, the other day and he said you were headed to Ware Co. To watch your son play, if this is indeed who I think it is.

The secondary of Tucker will get tested against Mays. If Mays does not beat themeselves with senseless penalties they may have a shot at an upset. But overall Tucker is definitely stronger.

It looks like region 6AAAA may be rounding into form now. Tucker, Marist, SWD, and Mays appear to be the front runners. If they keep improving they should represent well come playoff time.

@ The Doc.. I agree with you that other coaches at Tucker may not necessarily ‘like’ coach Stephens, but im sure they like their players and will try their best to help them win. However coaching is not eerything. In the end it is up to the players to execute.

AAAAA Traveler you are right in that offensively Lowndes has a way to go. You can’t tell how good a team will be come playoff time by only 5 games, however. Defensively, Lowndes is close.
1999 Lowndes team was 3 and 3 after 6 games but with a few personel tweaks went on a 9 game run after that to win state.
2005 Lowndes lost to Ware around the 4th or 5th game of the season…..for that particular group of boys it
was what they needed to wake them up. Definitely didn’t look
like state champs the night they lost to Ware.
Would that team have beat Mac last Friday night? Hard to say, they weren’t playing Mac….they were playing Ware.
S.Gwinnet? Lowndes in my opinion was good enough to beat them again.
But different teams, different matchups, different schemes.
Can’t realistically compare.
As you know, offensive line is usually the most difficult to gel if it ever does.
So….lets just wait and see….will they jell to be good enough? I dunno.
Oline on Lowndes 2007 team didn’t look like much of a force 1st half of the year either, but by playoffs they had become the “strength” of the team and dominated.
I have a hunch that after an extra week of preparation this week
you will begin to see an improved Oline……but that is just a hunch.
And I have definitely been wrong on my hunches before.

No disrespect WarEagle, maybe not a good choice of words. My apologies. but last year all that was heard was 6AAAA with SWD, Marist, and Tucker. Chamblee pushed us to our limits. but Hiram had the same trouble with 8AAAA as you did. After looking at scores and listening to “knowlegable” talk, it seems there may be a huge 6AAAA-8AAAA battle coming in the state playoffs. Right now it appears that Tucker and Clarke Central are very strong. But NSWR, Kell, Marist, TCC, and Flowery Branch have the teams to get there.

If the playoff brackets hold true to form, The Tigers of Tucker will probably meet the NSWR Eagles in the 3rd round, with a possible match-up before that with either the Hiram Hornets or the N. Paulding Wolfpack…Flowery Branch or Clarke Central will battle with either Mays or SWD in the 1st round of the bottom half of this bracket, with the winner going to war with either E. Paulding or Pope…On the other side of the top half bracket look for SWD or Mays(depending on who gets the 3rd seed) to have to battle either Flowery Branch or Clarke Central(again, depending on who gets the second seed from their region)…I think this side of the bracket is a little easier for teams to get thru to the semis and finals…Look for a possible matchup of old foes Marist and TCC for a trip to the semis, with the winner meeting either Kell, Flowery Branch or Clarke Central…Confused yet? lol stay tuned
