Trojan94–I know personnel changes with the season. But in this case, yes you can blame the coach despite PAST success. I will give you instances where you can blame the coaching staff. First in the game vs cedar grove, who ran what looked like a spread offense, 4-5 WRs. All the QB did was raise up, throw it out to the OUTSIDE WR. Why? because the DB was “coached” to line up 7-10 yds off the WR. Then FINALLY in the 4th qtr, they moved up the DBs on their WRs, and thats when they started stopping Cedar Grove. All Shaw did was line up roll left/right and throw it deep, their RB, he has speed and balance so he has to be accounted for.

Do me a favor, go to http://www.lagrangefootball.com, click on videos, and just watch us on offense, game to game Think of yourself as a coach, and you tell me you wouldnt be able to figure out what play is about to be run just by our formations. I understand teams have base plays, but when you have made it easy for the practice squads of other teams to give their starters an accurate look of what to expect, then you get results like thursday night..So its the COACHES that have to put the players in position to win, regardless of the skill set of the player.

ONE more question, how do you defend 4-5WR sets with only 2 CBs and a FS, with everyone running GO routes? as was the case in the shaw game..again no in game adjustments (coaching).

Cedar Grove Football, if your QB had an O-line, that entire offense could be dangerous no lie..yes i saw what he did to lagrange first hand!!!

leechampion–No, Callaway’s opening had no effect on LaGrange. Callaway opened in 95, and we have had continued success since. Anyway, Callaway is in Hogansville, GA, not LaGrange. Callaway replaced the old Hogansville High.. So unless athletes just up and decided to go to Callaway, Callaway didnt dent LaGrange’s talent pool

speaking of flowers, i bet quan bray wished he had stayed at Callaway lol!!!
I think we are in what i call a football lull, like the one UGA is in? where an 7-3, 8-2 record is unacceptable..well its never unacceptable at lagrange..but its a similar lull like we hit from 94-99..

Newnan played hard- Newton hung in there and got thier breaks with the Kickoff return for a TD and the fumble at thier own 25 late in the game. I question Newnan offisive play calling(coaches confidence) with the defense getting 4 interception and two fumble. You get inside the 20 and plat for field goals and kicked 3 FGs and missed 1 FG and not getting 6 point each time to put the game away. Newnan didnt throw the ball into the end zone in none of these turn over opportunities. GUT CHECK FOR THE COACHES WITH THIS TALENTED TEAM! WAKE UP THE TWINS ARE GONE LOTS OF TALENT STILL ON THIS TEAM IF USED….

Titletown Fan: Trust me, partner, I know what Region 1-AAAA was. I have been on the field when Vadosta wasliterally feared. I have seen 8,000+ fans in Black and Gold traveling up with swagger. My point about the importance of last night’s Lowndes County-Ware County game for the Region is you have some issues if the Vikes lost to the Gators.

I had some real issues with people assuming that Northside was moving up to something new, since we had played in AAAA & AAAAA for almost 40 years while playing in the second highest classification for about 4 years. Furthermore, we have one of the state’s most storied rivalries with our cross town rival, Warner Robins, that has 2 National Championships. Outside of Valdosta, no program in the state has a resume like Warner Robins (and we had manhandled them while we were in AAAA). Furthermore, a team from Warner Robins (WRHS in 2004 and Northside in 2005-2007) was playing in the AAAA State Championship (winning 3) four straight years. We were obviously up for the task.

At the end of the day, no region has produced champions like Region 1 (at all levels). I would take someone to task who questions that. I will also say that teams from Region 1-AAAAA have underperformed across the board at a much higher level than recent years. If Lowndes had lost (2 losses in the first half of the season) that would have represented multiple smaller classification losses for the region. I did not mean to disrespect the region. I love teasing you boys, after so much chatter towards us. At the end of the day, I know what programs like Valdosta, Lowndes, Tift County, and Colquitt County represent. Even the most loyal fan would have to admit that Tift County has fallen off of the map and outside of Lowndes, they are all “suspect” in my mind. Remember, the second place team has had to travel to Camden in the 2nd Round. With the metro Atlanta loving, GHSA, expect that trend to continue.

Is Valdosta back? You guys get a more up close and personal view. That was my biggest disappointment in that region. I thought that programs would be much more competitive with strong Valdosta and Tift County programs. It just wasn’t. I hope those guys get it going again. You guys should see what is going on at Warner Robins HS. It’s really bad.

John’s Creek 13 Creekview 10. John’s Creek’s QB Sky Overton may be the best 10th grade QB in the state taking a 1st year varsity team to an impressive 3-2 record when predicted to be a 0-10 team by the pundits. Next week a huge step up as JC takes on state ranked Chattahoochee at home.

SouthGARules: The situation at Warner Robins has NOTHING to do with Veterans HS taking players. Yes, WR lost coordinators. However the downward spiral has been going on since WRHS won the state championship in 2004. The loss to HoCo practically is the nail in the coffin.

One may also point out that Warner Robins is running a different offensive system. The right question is have they been running he right system for their program for the past 5 years. I told you guys that our Eagles from Northside were on “upset alert” when we faced Warner Robins last season. Northside raced to a 20-0 lead and Warner Robins hung 21 points in the 4th quarter spreading the ball around, passing, and mixing it up. People were scratching their heads around the entire city. Everyone had the sense that the QB had no arm. Heck, he was one of the best QBs that Northside had faced in years.

You don’t go winless at Warner Robins ad struggle to put up points. It has nothing to do with players and a loss of coaches. From 1970-2000, Warner Robins lost a cumulative total of 55 games. In 30 years the Big Red was 316-55. Since Bryan Way (a very good man) won a state championship in 2004, Warner Robins is 32-27. We all know how this story ends, SouthGARules. He has half as many losses in 5+ season as WRHS had in 31 seasons. The new high school argument is not going to carry any weight in our parts. We are a “results-oriented” kind of town.

East Paulding refused to shake hands with the North team after the game, then ran down to one end of the field and taunted the North players as they were leaving. The East team played their starters to the last second of the game, even after their starting running back was slightly injured near the end (with a 30 plus point lead.). \

Then, on the way out, I noticed that some East fans had “hung” a replica of a North Player from a sign (inside the stadium). Shocking to say the least, since North has been dealing with the tragic loss of one of it’s players just a month ago (killed in a traffic accident).

Not a very classy display.

Doesn’t look like Lowndes was resting any starters tonight.
North is clearly not ready to play with a program like East
The Longhorns continue to Roll
The tear flow should be down this week with East and Lowndes winning…. That should also give the refs a break.
Kell is NOT ready to be crowned champs. Good, but not Great! Just have fun and keep winning.
Camden… Represent the State well this week. # 1 in the nation would be sweet. PR or MAC is not gonna lay down !

fan: maybe to marist fans, but not to other fans in the region or state. we won’t get on here and revisit the past (especially the events that happened the same year marist got that honor), but your football coaches are definitely not the best “sports.” again, if you get a chance, watch the film. marist has an extremely short, dark haired coach who is consistently on the field and/or out of the box during play. i began focusing on him mainly due to his immature behavior on the sidelines. hey, the players seem to be more mature than the coaches, so no knock on them.

Yeah, East shouldn’t have anything to complain about concerning the officiating this week. The final talley was about 200 yard in penalties against North, and about 15 against East. Every North first down was negated by a penalty. Every East drive started at mid field thanks to penalties.

ENR: I am very aware of the history of Warner Robins. For years they were Northside’s daddy. If you think that losing 35 players, the OC & DC from last years team has NOTHING to do with an 0-4 team, you’re crazy. It is evident that Bryan Way will need to get his resume out-with what they have left, it looks like depths not seen since the 1960’s.

Well it’s going to VERY quiet in here from the WOLFPACK posters as they made their FIRST ever visit to “THE BONEYARD” …the much “hyped up” offense that was “hangin’ 50+” on everyone must have forgot to get on the bus!!! EAST took the opening kick off scored a TD and NEVER looked back!!!

A packed visitors side that was filled 30 minutes before the kickoff and had fans still coming in as EAST was scoring the opening TD had to line the fences, cover the hill in lawn chairs, and watch in disbelief as the CANNON fired to signal TD after TD as our RAIDERS marched up and down the field.

In a game they thought would be a shootout our RAIDER “D” made play after play and kept their QB rattled, confused, and on his back ALL NIGHT long!!! The receivers we have been hearing about and showcased on “YOU TUBE videos” found out it is a bit harder to catch a pass when a “D” keeps you covered, deflects the passes, causes your QB to throw early, or just FLAT OUT takes the pass away for an interception!!!

With a FINAL of EAST PAULDING RAIDERS 47 / NORTH PAULDING 10…the game said it all as EAST (as predicted) goes to 4/1 & 1/1 in the region!!!!

so that only leaves HIRAM as the only Paulding County team left to fall to our RAIDERS…they visit “THE BONEYARD” in a few weeks!!!!

for: Papa Longhorn 4…

Good win for KELL against HIRAM, I really thought that game would have been a bit closer but KELL is a handfull this year…It would be VERY interesting to see KELL visit “THE BONEYARD” for a second game this year!

Cannon rules, what was your take on East’s refusal to shake hands with the North team after the game? And the organized taunting led by the coaching staff? And the replica of a North player hung from a sign in the stadium even knowing that North is dealing with the death of one of it’s players?

Congratulations on the victory though! That’s all the matters, right?

On 9/17 and 9/24, Kell was the best team. They won. So EP and Hiram fans accept that. No excuses, Kell beat both of us. #37 shows why he is a Super 11 selection. He never quits. One of he best I have seen in a couple of years as an all around player. Kell’s coaches had a game plan and it worked.

As for the Hiram/Kell game .. They just smacked us in the mouth. Congrats Kell, you are worthy of a Top 5 ranking and will win 5-AAAA North. Hiram’s players one flaw is it appears they are not playing with the intensity they played last year. They have a talented backfield with 3 threats. The line has to get better and the backs have to start reading the blocks better. Hiram coaches – Don’t forget what has got you to this level … Run baby run and the short passesto the flats and over the middle to 24 and 25. Get the ball to these burners in the open field. As for passing out of the wing T, it works as it did last year when you had 2 recievers that could make it work. This year’s may not be quit as good, plus the QB does not have as much time to set up and throw.

Seasons not over. Hiram will rebound and EP will roll. The Hiram/EP game will be big this year. IMO here’s a very early prediction got state playoff from Region 5-AAAA

1 Kell
2 Lithia Springs (from the south)
3 East Paulding
4 Hiram

But there is alot of football left. This is what Friday nights is all about in the State of Ga.

Week after week we have to watch sloppy play calling and the use of a run only quarterback. Why can’t Zito at NF trust in the receivers to get the job done? Maybe he could tell every parent out there the reason and the pressure could stop. The young men, seniors, could deal with a little open honesty! Go Raiders

Don’t get on here and start preachin’ “classy”, this was a game we had all been waiting on for weeks because of the history of North Paulding being split off from EAST PAULDING a few years ago. Many families on BOTH sides have ties to BOTH schools!

Emotions were running high on both teams as they BOTH felt they had something to prove/show…North players wanted to show they can “PLAY UP” to a varsity schedule and EAST players wanted to show they were still the team to beat after the hard fought loss to KELL.

In case you missed the location of the game…YOU (NP) were the VISITING team, I saw BEFORE the game NP players jumping up and down on the EAST logo in the middle of the field, NP fans/students coming in with a stuffed RAIDER style doll they were waving around, EAST kids with a stuffed WOLF they were having fun waving at NP fans, banners on the fences and if you say so the stuffed wolfpack player you saw!

This was NOTHING more than good natured rooting for each others team…for you to try to bring in the tragic loss of the NP player earlier in the year and try to stir up controversy is totally inappropriate and tasteless. Paulding County is a tightknit community and everyone felt the loss not just NP!!!

Take the loss last night, go home and learn from it…North Paulding is still having a good year and has more wins to come before the year is out.

@dawgonit, you want to talk about disrespect, when the North Paulding got off the bus and the whole team stomped on the Raider shield. There were players digging their cleats in and every thing else. And as for the score running up, quit talking trash and matbe the dogs would of been called off. But when you disrect our house then you pay the price. And for not hand shaking I don’t blame them, your team was unruly and more than likely their would have been a fight. Especially when we descided to take a knee and your defense descided to knock down our quaterback after the play.

There’s a difference in decisions made by 16-18 year old kids on the field and decisions made by head coaches. Kids get led by emotions on the field. Coaches are supposed to be teachers.

As for hanging an opposing player from a sign, I don’t think that can be called good natured under any circumstace. There’s a difference between that and a stuffed wolf.

Classy though! Congratulations!

First of all EP did not shake hands for the the safety of np players who were taking cheap shots at EP all night (like hitting the QB as he took a knee) if they would have shaken hands a fight would have surely taken place. The Sheriffs on duty are the ones who would not let the teams shake hands. Second of all there were no EP coaches taunting the other team. And finally, EP always hangs the same skeleton with the other teams helmet for every home game no matter who the are playing. Its called the bone-yard. get it? probably not. And which team was it that had all the personal fouls on the coaches and players. And which team had players ejected? Lets just say it was not EP.

I didn’t have a player in the game. I just call it like I see it. I’ve never seen a team refuse to shake hands after a high school football game. I’ve never seen a team stand on one end of the field with all it’s coaches and direct taunts at the other team as they were leaving.

As far as hanging the opposing teams skeleton, my first trip to East Pauldning. I would thing that someone in charge would put a little more thought into that.

I do agree it was a smart move not to let the teams shake hands. That could have been bad. There were a select few of our players (not naming names) that I was disappointed in. EagleNatonRising, First, Region 1 and Region 3 meets in the first round this year the brackets been changed, And some of these comments goes for REEZE as well. Warner Robins has great tradition fallen on a few hard times, it happens. But why you guys think your school (Northside) is so great is beyond me. You had one great class when you won those back to back Championships and thats it, won nothing before and nothing since. You all acted like your coach was greatest in GA history before he retired, he was not a great Coach, a good Coach. A few years before that you all was calling for his head. Why did the school system elected to go back down to AAAA. Could have elected to play up. I don’t like Camden, but I’m glad they put those hands on you guys like they did, it brought you guys back down to reality. So stop boosting up Northside, you have a good school, not great, without the tradition you guys think you got. Win multiple titles with different players with different a class, not with one good class. You will never get any respect if you win the title this year in AAAA, because everyone will feel you had to go back down to get it done, I’m one that seems to think it. Not saying the AAAA isn’t respected which it very much is, just if guys win its like playing against little brother, then boasting about it. You guys don’t have the storied program you think you have not known your winning Championships year after year, but if you listen to you all, you surely will think so.

SouthGaRules—- ENR is correct.. Poor coaching is being fully exposed at Warner Robins High. The coach had been running the Wing-T for years prior to this season because it was/is the only scheme he knows how to coach. They have better players sitting on the bench that are suited for the new offense the OC is trying to install. The receivers can’t catch because they have never had to ( or been coached to ) because of the Wing-T philosophy. Now they are being asked to run routes and catch the ball and they look bad. Under the Wing-T you wanted the 0-line to be small and and fast with a lot of misdirection and quick hitting plays. With the spread/shotgun they are trying to install the 0-line has to pass block and man up when needed and MOVE THE D-LINE off of the ball. When the coaching starts to improve they will stop losing. We hope the coach will figure out he needs to get his best 11 on the field for what he is trying to do, When he does you will see a complete turn around in a hurry. The losing is bringing out the worst in the Dixie Demon fan base. Next week it may hit a new low against NSWR if they start booing the kids. I hope it doesn’t come to this.

Just to clear the air…before the game the North Paulding players stomped on and one of the players spit on the shield and then decided to go into the tunnel that East Paulding runs through each game and stand there and wave at the East Paulding players while in the East Paulding tunnel. Next, North Paulding players tore down a sign made for the game. There was a lot of emotion in the game which led to the ref’s and law enforcement to make East Paulding to go to the other side of the field and not shake hands because they were afraid a fight would break out. To top it off the North Paulding destroyed to visitors locker room after the game. Not all the North Players tore up the locker room from what I understand. However, it was still vandalized. I think this is sad for everyone involved. I do think though East should have shown a little more respect by not hanging the same skeleton that is hung at every game out of respect to North Paulding and their tragic loss early in this season.

for dawgonit: If you call taking a knee at the 8 yard line after two consecutive unsportmanlike conduct penalties on NP, and then getting blasted after taking a knee on the next and NP earning yet another unsportmanlike penalty……..and then having the East Players simply point to the scoreboard as an example of taunting, then you are a bit too sensitive. I for one was proud of the East players and how they handled the situation and simply walking away at the end. If the East coaches wanted to be disrespectful they could have simply called a time out and stuffed that last two yard touchdown in the endzone…….but they didn’t,, they simply removed their team from a potentially volitale situation and tried to let the North team leave with as much of their own dignity in tack as possible.,

As one to have seen East rise to power over the couse of the past 5 years under Coach Reid, I’ve seen the both the good and bad that come with new found sucess. East teams in the past have had to learn the hard way what it takes to play big boy varsity football (ie TCC, Marist, Etowah, Woodstock). Now it is the North’s team’s opportunity to begin their assent to bigger and better things……like it was said before…..learn from the loss and let it care you the remainder of this year and beyond.

As a house divided myself, it was disappointing yet not totally surprising that this rivalry started out with such a bang.

for footballfan123: Locker rooms are always left in pretty major disarray after a football game. You indicated it was trashed and even went so far as to say vandalized. I’m assuming you were actually in the locker room……what exactly was vandalized? there really isnt’ much in there TO vandalize or trash…….I”m just wondering?

Outsider……..I’m not a Demon hater , I really don’t enjoy seeing them losing……Fact of the matter , Your coach should have been sent packing at the end of the 2008 season…….He inherited the 2004 Championship team. From then to now has been all down hill………As you can tell ,I don’t like the man…… The Demons have a bunch of really good 9th and 10th graders that play with a lot of heart and desire , Ive been to the 9th and J.V matchups vs the Eagles and they matchup well with the young Eagles ………These young Demons are good , with the right coach on the sidelines ,in a season or two The Demons could be on top again .

ENR, for your info, NWR never “manhandled” Valdosta. Sure, you guys beat us but you DID NOT “manhandle” us. Get your facts straight. How I wish NWR could have stayed in 5A. We will gladly welcome you back if the opportunity arises in the future. GO CATS!!!!!

I went to the Ware/Lowndes game and I have to say that I was dissappointed with Lowndes. With the off week coming and a chance to shed the on road blues. The offense was anemic, what 123 total yards for the entire game. The defense was steady. Ware has no offensive capability whatsoever. That QB needs a lot of work. I understand that he is a Jr, but if your are going to shock some folks, your offene has to improve. They had something with the short passes to the flat. ht could That could have helped with the running. Ware has a good defense, I think that they surprised Lowndes with the speed of their defense. Lowndes could not get that sweep to the corners, however that #11 was tough coming off tackle. That’s where the run yards was coming from. Saw nothing in the pass game. In fact this game mirroed the Mac game. Region play starts soon and Lowndes has got to do better to compete. If you are better than your competition, you have to play above them, not below or at their level. Ware is going to get some victories and make some noise with that defense, just get a little offense going, and turn it over to that defense.

The information about the locker room came out of the mouth of one of the North Pauling players that was disappointed by their behavior. He said a couple of players broke up some glass or a mirror?

But this is enough of this kind of talk.

I am proud of the Raiders bouncing back after a hard loss to Kell. The Raiders are a great team with great coaching.

I can tell you I don’t think Peachtree Ridge is the #3 team in the State. Mountain View went toe to toe with them in the first half. PR looked strong in the second half but some of that was because MV got worn down and started playing JV players. That did not matter to Peachtree Ridge because they tried to run the score up to keep face by keeping their starters in the whole game. Pretty low class. I think PR will get theirs eyes opened, at least I hope so. Very classless!

@wow — Marist was called for a sideline warning penalty in the first half, so it was called both ways. It actually was a relatively penalty free game, except for a few illegal procedure calls against Carver and a strange episode of 2 consecutive offside calls against Carver on the kickoff.

@dawgman — Concerning the Johns Creek quarterback, you’re kidding, right. First of all, Johns Creek has won 3 games in spite of its offense, not because of it! Johns Creek is lucky it has played a soft schedule in the weakest region in AAAA. Second, there are many other far more talented sophomore quarterbacks — such as the QBs for Lassiter, Camden, Blessed Trinity, and Carver-Columbus.

dawgonit
The NP team and coaching staff have a lot to learn. Poke a god team and you get 47 to 10.

Before the game the NP players got on the shield in the middle of the field and did the best they could to tear it up with their cleets and were also spiting on it and yes I saw it and so did NP’s coaches and they did nothing. Then your QB made a bad decision to run through EP’s helmet tunnel that East runs through to come on the field. During the game I heard that NP players from the start were poking eyes and hitting the crotch area of EP players.
Who knows how many unsportsmanlike like penalties NP had thrown at them.
We could have hung a half a hundred on ya but decided to take a knee on the 3 and your team hit’s our QB, NICE!

AAAAA Traveler the Lowndes season is going to rest on the improvement of their offensive line. If they get better then Lowndes can go a long ways. If they don’t, well then they won’t….go a long ways. At this point the holes of the past 3 seasons just aren’t there. They are still relatively young but from watching this year to me that is the key to this team.

Defensively Lowndes is closing the holes of the early part of the season
and the defense will be fine.

Ware will be dangerous team this year. Very disciplined team. I think their offense is better than you give them credit and will show up a gainst lesser defenses.

That was a very good old fashioned defensive war and kind of fun to watch for a change.
