AJC, thanks for keeping the site under control! There’s really nothing entertaining about repeated immature behavior or the personal stuff. Last year your staff was the “let ‘em play” kind of referee and the site wasn’t as fun – too much rule by goons and the highly partisan bores with the giant chip on the shoulder. Anyway, thanks!

Lowndes 3, Ware Co. 0. 46 yard field goal, hit the post and bounced through! Interesting call – roughing the kicker on the Gators, Lowndes kicker Jed Solomon had to be helped off field… would have been 15 yards and a 1st down but Lowndes decided to decline the penalty and keep the points on the board. Good call considering how tough the WC defense has been tonight.

@EagleNation……”must-win” for the region? Granted it will disappointing if Lowndes loses to Ware, but as far as the region being threatened…I think your reaching. I will also grant that NWSR had a decent run in Region15A, but it was too short to tell for me. This region was what it was long before NWSR came and will be long after…don’t kid yourself. There is a lot of hardware down this way from years past and recent, hence the username.

There is not a huge difference when it comes to 4AAAA and 5AAAAA. If Ware County wins, it does not suprise me as they are a good team, no shame their. Football is football, you win some and lose some. Great game is sounds like.

White Trash, I agree completely! Ware’s defense is very fast and strong on the DL, they have stopped Lowndes cold tonight – Vikings will be grateful to get out of Memorial Stadium with a W this year.
You know, Lowndes lost that close game at McEachern several weeks ago but LHS has really needed to on on the road more and face tough teams during the regular season. Other teams want to come play at Martin Stadium because they get a share of the sizeable gate receipts, and LHS is usually content to stay at home.
I can’t help but wonder whether this has contributed to the road playoff losses the last two seasons. At least this year Lowndes is getting more opportunity than usual to play some toughies on the road, including a galvanizing loss in a playoff-like atmosphere – this may help in the playoffs.
Lowndes intercepts Waycross with a minute and a half, now will be working to run out the clock.

Final score, Lowndes Vikings 3, Ware County Gators 0, second straight shut-out for the Lowndes defense, but Ware County was very impressive.
I think the team’s off next Friday, then it’s over to Valdosta High for the annual “Winnersville Classic” in two weeks.
