FOOTBALL RECRUITING: Suspended UGA QB recruit Christian LeMay scheduled to meet with other school

UGA quarterback commit Christian LeMay and his father were scheduled to meet with officials from a private school in the Charlotte area on Thursday, according to the Charlotte Observer.

LeMay, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 2 QB by Scout, was given a 30-day out-of-school suspension for breaking an undisclosed code of conduct rule earlier this summer. If the suspension stands, LeMay would miss most of his senior year at Butler High.

However, if LeMay transfers to a private school or out of state, he may be eligible to play immediately this season.

The meeting was scheduled with Victory Christian, a source close to the school told the Observer. Victory Christian coach Frank Crockett declined comment to the website.

LeMay also had an appeals hearing regarding his Butler High suspension last week, but no results have been released.

Now it’s YOUR turn. What’s your prediction? Do you think LeMay win will his appeal or have the suspension reduced? Or will he transfer to another school? Please post below.

I’ve been a Dawg fan for a long time and this is one guy who would make me very happy if he bailed on his “committment” to CMR. he and his dad are TROUBLE. maybe he could find a spot with the Vols. He could keep Duh’Rick company on the practice squad.

Thug is not well defined by underage drinking and scooter violations.

Thug is better defined by beating the crap out of your girlfriend like Georgia Tech’s Robert Hall (only to get a 1 game suspension mind you)

Tech’s rally cry: “To Hell With Georgia!!”
UGA’s rally cry: “Go Dawgs!!”

Who would you be more attracted to as a recruit??

Didn’t Georgia just lose a QB for messing around with women? Well…one just broke the law of man (and he is gone from GA) and the other broke the law of God (and he is a future hero at GA). So that kind of puts things in perspective for what really matters to us all….doesn’t it….or does it?

Even if LeMay signs with Georgia, what’s to say he’ll even be admitted. The Faculty Admission Committee has a history of turning down such an applicant.

Trouble is….he went on TV just prior to getting caught in carnal knowledge participation an preached Jesus like a grown man. But…in reality….he is just a horny boy like the rest of the horny boys out there. At least the girl gave him permission to express his tie up “horniness”…vs. the other QB you had.

Yeah. Robert Hall beat his girlfriend…but the charges were dropped after it came to light she got hurt beating on him.

How about Terreal Bierra? You know him, former UGA safety for the Reverend Mark Richt, and current murderer.
What about the players that assaulted a pregnant woman?
Or the now dismissed player who harrased a couple in a Taxi with 2 of his thug buddies. Of course, he was playing peacemaker. Then he gets a DUI and gets kicked out.
Don’t forget Mettenberger, getting drunk and forcing himself on girls in a bar.
Or how about Kelin Johnson? The former safety and DUI champion, who piseed in the back of a cop car after his DUI.
Or Quincy Carter? The crack smoking king.
Yep. Real standup guys these bulldogs are.

If he broke the rules he should suffer the consequences. His father should let him pay the price for his mistake. If he’s a good kid that made a bad decision he will learn from it and come to Georgia a stronger man.

What I can’t understand is how a school can punish a kid for FCC approved sexual acts performed in high school that are shown or eluded to on primetime TV programing and hollywood movies constantly for the past 25-30 years.
Congress even approved of such acts and cigar desecrations being performed by a former adulterous president who lied under oath (but he didn’t inhale), so how in the hail does a school have the gall to suspend a kid for 30 days for the same acts?

Here are the THUGS at Tech as of late:

Robert Hall – Beating up a girl
Jerrard Tarrant – Rape and sodomy
Reuben Houston – pulling a gun 3 months ago and 90 lbs of pot
Dan Drummond – steroids (last I checked this is an illegal drug)

All of these are much worse offenses than driving on a suspended license, underage drinking, etc.

Go clean up your own house and stay out of our’s. THWGT!!!! 8 of 9 and 30-24.

You guys keep making the wrong headlines such as your AD a married man, driving drunk with a womens panties in his lap!!!! He had the nerve to say they were just friends? WOW!…Sure, and a ugay player didn’t sell his sugar bowl ring on ebay. Idiots.

Just come back to earth and realize that your program is becoming a joke. By the way its 8 of 13 but i think you guys own the longest losing streak and who has the most recent BCS showing and conference title? Also, you will never catch GT in national titles in this lifetime, I think you guys mean that YOU RUIN THIS STATE, not run it.

Keep living the dream in athens fellas, rape, drinking and driving, beating people up, stealing and drugs are about the norm in athens. Look at the bright side, you still are preseason #1 in arrests and being the laughing stock of college football after your AD panty saga! It couldn’t have happened to a better university! CHUGA..CHUGA..CHUGA! Enjoy being named #1 party school, i think i would look into getting those herpes shots though if i lived anywhere near that campus.

Priceless….

LeMay is talking to Victory Christian??? Not exactly the top of the line private school football in the Charlotte area – that would be Charlotte Latin, Charlotte Country Day and Providence Day (I’m taking it for granted that he wouldn’t go to Charlotte Catholic). I am not sure what he and his family are trying to do here. Hopefully the Reverend LeMay is concentrating on his son’s social and academic attributes – if he is as good as he is supposed to be, the football will take care of itself.

For all of you tech fans on here, a # 2 National Recruit is someone who is very good at their position, and most importantly, he is a skilled position player. I know you guys don’t understand what skill is, and especially how important it is to have a very skilled position player running your offense. That fullback Nebisco (almost as fat as Dwyer) is skilled, but defenitely not in the position of QB. You guys even recruit tailbacks to play the QB position (Airyn Willis, anyone) ?? That’s why we will ALWAYS field a better team than you guys, because we know it takes a QB who throws the ball to have more than a one-dimensional offense attack. Keep on hanging on to that three point win almost three years ago, and we’ll keep on bee-ting that yeller a $ $ year in, and year out.

What I don’t understand about the LeMay situtation is why his father (the preacher) is trying to circumvent the consequences of Christian’s actions. My dad always taught me that there are consequences for actions and I suffered a lot of them. I do not doubt for one minute that CL is a good kid who made a bad choice. Now it is time to accept the consequences. It will make him a better man in the long run.

Mr. LeMay needs to step back and recognize that this is one of those maturing opportunities for his son. Let Christian step up and be a man; let him grow from this situation by “doing the time”.

I speak from experience. I too have a son who made a bad choice several years ago, but he suffered the consequences and today is well on his way to becoming a responsible adult.

And for you guys who want to drop this kid because of his choice, you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself what your motives are. Tell me what you would do if you were in Mr. LeMay’s position.

So he got suspended for knocking boots? Was it during school, at school?

After the dad presents such a positive image of his son, isn’t running away from the punishment kind of lame? Don’t stand-up guys face the music? Yes, I think they do. Withdraw the offer now and avoid the headache later.

It’s easy for fans to justifiably take shots at the miscreants and thugs that each school has allowed into it’s program. I like to think that no coach intentionally recruits these clowns anticipating the problems they will create. Unfortunately, however, when recruiting, they seem to be mesmerized by on the field performance and often fail to research the athlete’s character and grades. Then, to make things worse, when the thugs prove their unworthiness as responsible humans, because they can maybe get an extra yard on a carry, the coach will spout platitudes about their being “young men who have made a mistake” and that it is the coach’s job to help them learn and grow. Spare me, please. This is absolute Bull Hockey. Since most of the coaches do not have either the desire or fortidtude to do what is right either in the way of substantial suspensions or scholarship removal, maybe it’s time for the NCAA to impose some absolute standards for every school; i.e., first DUI – 6 game supensension, second DUI – scholarship removal; charged with a felony – scholarship suspension until charges dropped or person cleared. I’m sick and tired of my school being populated with thugs and morons and the same goes for my rivals.

And, then there is always Miami, who has now been out-thugged by USF. Man, do I feel sorry for Skip Holtz.

Hope LeMay does get a scholly to this new private school he is considering. Some of you make that sound like a bad thing. Private schools need donations from many different people and places to make their place attrative and competitive. Giving a scholly to a high profile player seems like a good idea to me and so American in its tradition.

This guy isn’t a thug, like some folks have posted. Everything I’ve read says he’s a great kid. Whatever he did at Butler was a small infraction but the school’s disciplinary code is strict and suspension is the answer for it.

Look in the mirror when you claim someone is a thug. Were your days in high school angelic? Didn’t think so. Have you always kept between the lines of the law? Probably not.

No one is perfect, so lay off and chill.

There are a lot assumptions being made here by people who seemingly want to villify and characterize Christian Lemay as some kind of criminal. No one here knows the specifics of this case, so it would seem that you would reserve any negative comments until you learned the truth. What has been exposed is that the principal got the police involved with this, the police DID NOT FIND ANY WRONGDOING on Christian’s part that warranted criminal action.
I question the motives of this principal. Why would she think that a consensual encounter between two teens be a criminal act? Was Christian the only one suspended, if so, why? Afterall the female was complicit in the matter. You can’t suspend one for actions that clearly involved two, blatant case of bias. Why would she call the police for a sexual encounter between two kids and only Lemay goes to jail? All of this before notifying school officials and the kids parents. Seems to me the that principal was on a witch hunt and Lemay was the object of her hunt and it all backfired on her. God don’t like ugly. If school policy was violated by Lemay and the other student, they both should be punished.
