The reputed “fastest football player in Georgia” says UGA is his No. 1 choice.
Mitchell County wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley told the AJC that the Bulldogs are his leader, ahead of Louisville, Wake Forest, South Carolina and Michigan (in that particular order). All but Michigan have offered the 6-foot, 190-pound speedster. He has nine total offers.
“Yes, sir, Georgia is my No. 1,” he said. “With me being from (the state), Georgia Bulldogs football has always been a big thing around where I live. I really like the coaches at Georgia. They are going to be low in numbers with wide receivers, so it’s a good place to come in and play early. Plus, Georgia said they will allow me to run track.”
What about Georgia Tech? Scott-Wesley committed to Stanford last fall, but it was a February offer from Georgia Tech that caused him to de-commit and open up recruiting again. Scott-Wesley is an Honor Student with a 3.5 GPA.
“They didn’t make my top five,” he said. “The offense really killed it for them. Georgia Tech uses a Wing-T offense, and I am a wide receiver, so it really doesn’t match well with me.”
Scott-Wesley said that Georgia Tech’s coaches are trying to change his mind, saying that they will find creative ways to get him the football. “They said they would use me at A-Back, and also at wide receiver. They would get me involved in both the passing and running game … but I don’t know about all of that.”
Scott-Wesley earned his speedy reputation for his stellar performance in track. Last year, he won the Class AA championship in the 200 meters, while finishing runner-up to his teammate in the 100.
This year, Scott-Wesley is undefeated in both 100 and 200, including significant head-to-head wins against Carver-Columbus High’s Isaiah Crowell (the state’s No. 1-ranked tailback prospect) and Carrollton High junior Broderick Snoody. Scott-Wesley’s fastest time is 10.64 seconds in the 100 and 21.63 seconds in the 200.
In football, Scott-Wesley is called “Mr. Excitement” by Mitchell County’s fans. He primarily lines up at wide receiver, but also may appear in the offensive backfield at quarterback or tailback. He also starts on defense at cornerback. Two weeks ago, he legally had his last name changed from Scott to Scott-Wesley to represent his father’s side of the family.
Wide receiver is a top priority for Georgia’s 2011 recruiting class, with the Bulldogs considering signing as many as three at the position.
Scott-Wesley was scheduled to attend last Saturday’s G-Day game, but had to cancel because of a death in the family.
If Georgia is his clear leader, what is holding up Scott-Wesley from committing? “When I committed to Stanford, I realized I made a rash decision. I needed more time to think things out … and I still do. I’m trying to get out and see more schools before announcing my decision. I really want to take all five official visits next year.”

My son runs track for a Double A school in North GA; and when he runs the 200 meter event in the low 23’s he thinks it is a good time. But a 21.63 200 is smoking; that is if he run that in an official track meet, which i am sure he did.

BadDawg: Thanks for your comment. I respectfully disagree with you. I don’t think Justin’s character “appears tainted” for de-committing to Stanford. We’re 10 months away from signing day. Justin made a rush decision with Stanford, and backed off it when he realized it was a mistake — giving Stanford plenty of time to consider other players. Now if Justin would’ve kept Stanford “stringing along” while remaining committed AND visiting other schools, then I’m not too sure about that.
You talk about “when giving your word was very important.” I agree, but what about these college coaches who give their word to the kids that they will be there for the next four years, and then take the first pay raise to get out of town? I’m just saying, it works both ways in the ruthless world of college football recruiting.

True, he did give Stanford plenty of time ro recruit other athletes. I mean its not like he stayed committed all the way up to signing day, and then signed with another school that offered his best friend a scholarship just to get him to go back on his word and de-commit at the last posible minute. I sure am glad that would never happen. But, if it did, that would show a serious character flaw for both the recruit and the school.

That guy is an idiot regardless of whatever his GPA says. He plays WR so that offense doesn’t do it for him? I guess D. Thomas, one of 16 invited to the NFL draft, didn’t do it for him either. I wouldn’t buy into his hype just because he is a speedster.

You’re right about the coaches leaving, Michael. It’s funny to me that one coach that always seemed to be “on the make” is now getting in deeper and deeper in trouble. Rich Rodriguez is now being investigated by the NCAA at WV and Mich. Also in a bit of trouble regarding a condo scheme. He just seems slimey. Flirted with Alabama and others to get a fat contract, left, then tried to get out of paying WV the buyout. Eventually a judge made him pay it.

T-Rav take a breath, it IS a variation of the wing-t. And so what if he calls it a wing t? Tech was in the Orange Bowl and the ACC Championship, I’m sure he’s seen it and knows what it is. So what if he calls it a flying supplex? Did you go to UGA?

Wing T? Guess that really high GPA still doesn’t mean he knows a lick about football. Or he listened to someone else who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Either way, who wants a guy who can’t tell the difference between a flexbone and the wing-t
Some big differences:
TE: Wing T has one, flexbone does not
RBs: Both have a fullback (or B-Back). Wing T has a tailback, who lines up behind the guard, at least five yards behind the line. Also has a wingback, who lines up outside the weak-side tackle but basically on the line. Flexbone has two wingbacks (or A-Backs) and no tailback. What this kid clearly doesn’t understand is the “wingbacks” of the flexbone are only about 2-3 yards away from slot backs in a spread option. If he’s supposedly so fast I’d imagine he could make up the 2-3 yards pretty quickly.
WRs: Wing T has one. Flexbone has mostly 2, but sometimes we put both A-Backs on one side, so two WRs, one slot WR, and one A-Back (although I consider an A-Back to be part RB and part slot receiver really close to the OL).
I don’t mind that the guy wants to go to uga, and he can certainly get a good enough education there (although its no Stanford), but he shouldn’t make big decisions based on the information he currently has – he sounds like Bobby Bowden calling our offense the wishbone. I can understand a WR not wanting to come and play A-Back, but he should at least understand that the position is much more similar to the slot backs at Florida and Mississippi St. than anything a Wing T has to offer.

Exactly Eugene … it says he’s the FASTEST football player. Let’s see some film on beep-beep the road runner and see if he’s actually a FOOTBALL player and not just a track star.
GT has a richer track history than GA (JSW said GA will let him run track), and the last spring football article I read says Stephen Hill – a WR on the football team – will be missing time b/c he’s competing in the long jump at the ACC’s track & field events.

Richt has learned NOT to target say “ONE” wide receiver ( or any position) with a guys word.
We hung on to Da’rick’s word last year, then his rich friends daddy got involved and Delivered his 2 star QB son a Tennessee offer if Da’rick came along with the package. Now, if this kids daddy bought Da’rick a car or something, I don’t know how the NCAA looks at that. It may be fine. But in any case, we need wide receivers nest year. We’ll sign 3, but we’ll probably have 4 commits. Thet really need to change the rule on early commits. Either do away with it or let /make them sign when they commit. The rule as it stands now encourages “funny business”.

(full disclosure, I’m a UGA grad)
Maybe…just MAYBE…that offense doesn’t do it for him b/c he’s 6 ft, 190 lbs, rather than 6′4″ and 230 (like D. Thomas) The entire GT passing offense is ‘lull the DBs to sleep, then drop back and heave it’. When you’re that much physically bigger than the tiny DB’s covering you (like Thomas), that philosophy can work for a receiver. As far as preparing, and showcasing your talents, for the NFL though, that’s not gonna get it done. A more typical WR needs to be in an offense that actually runs pro-style routes, rather than depending on a once-a-quarter bomb that the defense has been numbed into forgetting about.
None of this is meant to denigrate D. Thomas…that kid is gonna be a stud. I just don’t think you can possibly compare THIS receiver to him…way too many physical differences.

JB, there is no way to “change the rule on early commits”, what are you going to do prevent coaches from recruiting or tape the mouth shut of players who say to the coach, a friend or the general public that they want to go to a certain school? You can’t keep a kid from saying where he wants to go. Then, because no one is allowed to say where they want to go ahead of time, schools overrecruit a certain position and end up with 6 wr’s when they wanted 3 and the last three to fax over on signing day are then told to go somewhere else?

It would behoove all of GT fans to know their offense before calling out other people. GT offense is a modified version of the Wing T except GT will option and pass out of it. It’s GA Southern’s “Ham Bone” offense from back in the day. FYI – GT coaches only taught D. Thomas three or four route patterns. Thomas will have to learn how to run other patterns on the fly while he adjusts to the NFL speed and schemes.

Did I read the article correctly, UGA did offer Scott-Wesley a scholarship, right? I hope so, he sounds like a great kid and he will fit well into Georgia’s pro style passing attack. Murray and Mettenberger should be peaking when this yound man steps out onto the field at Sanford Stadium. Mettenberger’s arm and Scott-Wesley’s speed should be dangerous combination for opposing teams. He is the perfect recruit, an honor student with great athletic skills.
It is interesting how Tech has to “find creative ways” to get the ball into the hands of a talented receiver. The one dimensional running attack will hurt Tech in the long run. They wont be able to recruit passing quarterbacks or talented receivers. Which is fine with me. All you have to do to beat Tech is defend the run by stacking the line of scrimmage.

@ Know Your Offense – “GT offense is a modified version of the Wing T except GT will option and pass out of it.”
Your username is ironic, because you clearly don’t know squat about offense. The T formation is considered to be the oldest in football, originating around 1880. The single wing developed soon thereafter, and the Wing T developed soon thereafter, but was popularized by Harold “Tubby” Raymond while at Delaware. The whole point of the Wing T is explained by its name – its a T formation but with a Wing Back.
On the other hand, the wishbone developed in the 1950s. Unlike the Wing T or Single Wing, the wishbone was designed to run a triple option offense. Like the Single Wing though, the wishbone evolved off of the T formation, though it moved the fullback closer to the line of scrimmage instead of a halfback.
The flexbone developed off of the wishbone, and recognizes the difficulty of passing the ball. It moves both of the halfbacks in the wishbone closer to the line to compensate. Because it has 2 WRs and 2 other players who are lined up JUST OFF THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE and OUTSIDE ALL OF THE DOWN LINEMEN, it is NOTHING AT ALL LIKE THE WING T. If you can’t understand that, I’m surprised you know how to type.
Ironically, Paul Johnson’s offense evolved from a four WR set. He moved the WRs closer to the down linemen in order to run the ball more effectively. But those are things called “nuances,” something you mutts have trouble understanding.

I think that’s fair. I wouldn’t want to play WR in GT’s offense if I was only 6 ft. A-Back should offer up more of a chance for receiving yards, though, as the only current guys playing the position are running backs. I’d imagine Chris Jackson (WR transfer from Bama) will fit that mold nicely and get up to 400-500 yards receiving by the time he’s a Senior, along with about the same amount of yards rushing. Percy Harvin his senior year? 644 and 659, respectively.
The biggest misconception is that the offense isn’t designed to throw the ball. It is, its just when you have Nesbitt throwing, a bunch of RBs receiving, and a very efficient rushing attack there is no need to throw the ball (unless you run up against Iowa, but that’s another story entirely). Like I said in an earlier post, if you move the A-Backs 2-3 yards to either side they’d become slot WRs, and then you have a four WR set with snaps taken under center. The problem for GT’s passing is primarily personnel, not the system.

GT has had a lot more people in the trials and the olympics. For example, in 2008 Angelo Taylor won two golds. Angelo competed in the 2004 olympics as well. David Krummenacker is a world indoor champion who performed pretty well at the Olympic Trials last year, just missing the 800m hurdles. Johnson has been at TECH 2 years. Do you think the ENTIRE O has been installed? Kid keep that commitment in your pocket and see what Tech will do in passing this year. Nesbitt is not the greatest passer, but he is a great runner. CPJ picked the best QB to start running his O and protect the ball. Shaw now at Ga. Southern if he get the chance will show that he can pass and run the Trip-option too.

Hey if your not willing to be physical at the wide out in Paul Johnson’s offense you would get buried at the end of the bench anyways. KimZ’s Package, the point is still that WRs catching the ball aren’t an integral part of johnson’s offense. Nothing wrong with that, it is what it is. But to trash a kid because he doesn’t think tech’s offense suits his talents is just plain wrong. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I only want UGA to sign kids who WANT to be a Bulldog. If a kid chooses tech over UGA, then so be it.

Hey dogtard – do you think its easier to transition to a pro-style offense if you are actually running a pro style offense in college moron? Yes it is and the point was that someone called him selfish because he wanted an offense that would help him better prepare for the pros instead of worrying about a team attitude that he isn’t even playing for yet. Sure, you can get to the pros from a wingt offense in college because they notice your talent but it doesnt necessarily make it a good idea IDIOT! The kid makes a good point about Tech’s offense. It is primarily run-oriented, though with a talented QB the passing game can open up but guys who can run and pass equally are rare. Since CMR’s arrival he’s proven that UGA maintains a balanced approach to its play selection. Two years ago the Dawgs had two receivers have almost 1,000 yards receiving and they have an excellent running back.
A pro-style attack can attract great wide receivers just like a spread attack does. The flexbone run by Tech, not so much. Any recruiters selling something else isn’t being honest to the recruit.

Al Groh will not land one big time recruit and neither will CPJ. The facts are clear now about tech and their gimmicky offense. Yes, they handle the Wakes and the Dukies and the Terrapins but FSU, VA Tech and Miami and LOWER second tier ACC schools like that, handle tech. Iowa and UGA are constant and solid UPPER second tier teams ( i love it ……better than third tier which tech is ) because they win, like UGA, having won 8 or more for soon to be 14 years in a row.
It is a vortex. tech will not recruit big time D players and therefore tech will not win big games. The lone UGA loss to tech in 08 was about UGA lethargy and lack of attitude and Stafford’s pics. Last year, UGA with their worst team in maybe 20-25 years physically PUNISHED TECH for that one loss and will continue to punish tech in Athens this year.
As for Florida? Lets tee it up like we do every year. The entire UGA body of work vs the two schools speaks for itself. UGA has dominated both and in fact, Bobby Dodd’s own son played for Florida. He knew that tech by the MID 60s was a low level team and so Dodd Junior wanted out.

“Debose, do you believe Mark Richt is not one of the top 7 coaches in the SEC right now? Don’t give a flip what you say they said on a TV show. I am asking you, as a football fan. Name the 7 better coaches in the SEC, and why you consider them to be.”
Coach Richt is better than Nick Saban. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Urban Meyer. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Les Miles. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Mack Brown. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Chris Peterson. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Jim Tressel. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Brian Kelly. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Pete Carroll was. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt is better than Bob Stoops. That’s obvious.
Coach Richt has MORE TO WORK WITH than all these coaches, but they ALL have a better coaching STAFF than Coach Richt.
Of course, only California, Texas, and Florida have more high school football players who go on to the NFL than the state of Georgia.
But, we cannot get out of our Division, let alone out of our own Conference to go beat a Top 10 Final AP Poll in a big bowl game.
Coach Richt JUST FIRED his entire Defensive Coaching Staff, and FIRED his entire Special Teams’ Coaching Staff, and last week announced in public that he has completely taken over the Entire Offensive Coaching Staff after they failed to sign any state of Georgia high school all-stars on Offense.
1-3 vs Florida last 4 years
1-3 vs vols last 4 years
10-10 vs SEC East teams the last 4 years
Oh, Coach Richt is obviously better than all these coaches and about 25 more who are all ranked AHEAD of Coach Richt in the Top 25 teams for 2010.
Again.
With no QB ready for 2010, just as he did not have in 2006 and 2009.
With 21 fumbles a year the last 4 years.
With 14 interceptions thrown a year the last 4 years.
With the # 96 NCAA average ranking in Penalties the last 4 years.
And, he stubbornly kept all his entire Offensive coaching staff all coaching positions they did NOT play.
Redshirted Knowshon Moreno 2006 so we got to see him 2 years only 2007 & 2008.
After being ranked # 1 by EVERY POLL he gave up 31, 42 and 29 consecutive points in LOSSES while handing the football then to Knowshon Moreno 14 times per game in those 3 LOSSES, the best running back on this campus in 30 years.
Ripped Redshirt off Washaun Ealey in 3rd quarter of the 5th game only to see him lead UGA in rushing, but still only got 2 starts all season, and not even the last 2 games.
Started Joe Tereshinski III ahead of then # 2 Joe Cox and then # 3 Matthew Stafford 2006.
Lost to EVERY SEC East team in a row consecutively 2007 and 2008.
Watched SEC Coaches all of whom he is better than win the last 5 National Championships in a row.
Has had 92 arrested / suspended football players in the Coach Richt Era, but you say EVERY school has that. They do NOT.
Had 2 passes thrown to Marlon Brown all season last year.
Had 2 passes thrown to Branden Smith all season last year.
Did NOT start capable Zach Mettenberger but Joe Cox who led nation in turnovers.
Lost 14 games the last 4 years now, while Jim Donnan was fired for losing 13 his last 4 years here.
Started Aaron White for making 3 catches his freshman year at TE.
Took until 12th game of 13-game season to Start Orson Charles with 23 catches his freshman year TE.
FAILED to sign the Offensive Recruits in the state of Georgia only to let ALL these coaches listed all come in here and STEAL them right here from us.
All these coaches whom Coach Richt LOSES to.
Cannot get out of his own division.
Says Caleb King is his Starting Running Back.
Said he was NOT going to fire Willie Martinez his Prayer Partner since college.
Says he never hires NFL coaches because they will NEVER BE SATISFIED coaching with him.
Says NFL coaches will just leave, heaven forbid they actually RECOGNIZE TALENT and start the best players and figures a way to get them on the field, not SENIORITY.
Criticized by Logan Gray 3 weeks ago at start of Spring Practice for NOT giving Logan Gray the Starting QB job LAST YEAR.
Coached Logan Gray up to the point now in his 4th year here with this Offensive Coaching Staff, he has 0 TD passes, 2 interceptions and a grand total in 4 years now of 5 completions. John Brantley is a lot better than that, just against Coach Richt.
Shows his hand on punt returns sending his designated fair catch guy Logan Gray, one of the fastest players on the team but ended the season with a NEGATIVE punt return average.
Kicks off into the corner with one of the best kickers in America.
Plays walk-ons on Special Teams.
Has AJ Green say he will field punts in the newspaper.
Has as the hardest player to tackle on the entire team Brandon Boykin and with all the struggles with oft-injured Caleb King, never considers rushing him.
Starts Richard Samuel at Running Back last year after he LOST the Georgia tek game with his fumble at the goal line for a TD losing by a field goal.
Then the 5 games later says Richard Samuel will NEVER play on offense ever again in his lifetime here.
Now has to redshirt him Coach Richt says so he can learn to play Defense.
Has an Offensive Line Coach Richt brags about and his OL coach who then cannot block for the pass and cannot block for the run.
Tells us Carlton Thomas is the best player on the team in Spring Practice hidden from us, then puts him in G-Day Game and he fumbles one of the 5 fumbles we had during G-Day Game.
Tells us Aaron Murray could not practice all season last year because of a sore arm but is our hope for the National Championship when he was injured his senior year in high school tackled by a 300 lbs linemen but his 4.7 speed is world class faster than Logan Gray, and can throw the football deep better than Zach Mettenberger, then Aaron Murray throws 5 deeper type passes all overthrown and throws his short passes behind receivers and looks to me as if he STILL HAS A SORE ARM.
How do you coach a QB to the point you let him THROW HIS ARM out ? How in the blazes is that possible ?
Coach Richt is on the hot seat and HE KNOWS IT.
Coach Richt got into it with the fans last year TELLING US WE DON’T KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, BUT HE DOES.
Coach Richt tells the news media not to jump to conclusions about an UGA Football player out at 2 am with GANG MEMBER CRIMINALS in a Taxi in which a woman is struck and told she would be gang banged, and the man with her is also struck repeatedly and assaulted. Fine job of peacemaker is all I can say, never mind who in the hell he is out with – all this with Spring Practice at 2 am out with gang members gangbanging and raising hell and he is a Saint.
Oh, yeah, we are doing just great on the field and off the field, and our football players are all obviously learning so much about Christian Values under Coach Richt arrested in the last week for beating up a girl multiple times violating his PAROLE. And he one of the best players on the team obviously the 8th best at his position in the nation and the # 1 top football player all positions in his home state he is from and so too is Zach Mettenberger one of our best football players, also arrested for getting into to it with a Valdosta Police Officer trying to break up a barroom brawl and him yelling at the Police Obstruction and calling attention to the fact that maybe they should ask for ID to find 2 fake ID, now a felony in this state 2 counts, and oh by the way let’s see why you are acting like that, maybe we should be a drunk test on an 18-year old. Which he also fails.
Urban Meyer gets criticized for his 24 arrests the first few years but Coach Richt had twice as many in the same timeframe. And, they won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Twice.
By the way, we are 1-4 Coach Richt vs Urban Meyer, soon to be 1-5 because HE has a QB ready. Way ready.
DISNEYdawgs.com, you are FOOLING YOURSELF that we want a nice guy with NO DISCIPLINE on or OFF the field who is 10-10 his last 20 games in his own Division of his own conference.
We are doing so damn great.
Coached Joe Cox up so well that even with a sore arm where he could not practice, that even then with the flu having to be flown to Okie State in a private jet, that he starts him anyway instead of Zach Mettenberger who should have, obviously to all now.
Has not won SEC Championship in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and has zero hope for 2010.
Loses 14 Seniors and 5 Juniors all starters off this year’s team.
Obviously isn’t going to win any SEC Championship after this year either.
Passed by by Urban Meyer, Nick Saban and Les Miles just in his own Conference.
Glaring how the kids of this state on Offense ALL signed with then instead.
Had 2 Players he recruited arrested / suspended DURING SPRING PRACTICE.
Before the Summer even starts.
Has 1 player arrested / suspended EVERY MONTH for 9 years in a row now.
Has lost to 8 teams not ranked in the Top 25 even of the Final AP Poll the year he lost to them.
Has won 3 and lost 8 games against teams in the Top 10 of the Final AP Poll.
In 14-games seasons nowadays, has had more than 11 wins once.
Said he knocked the LID OFF UGA’S Football Program by beating # 4 vols Final AP Poll 2001 but LOST to Florida, lost to South Carolina, lost to Boson College and lost to Auburn – that is knocking the lid off this program ? B.S.
Has FAILED to beat a single Top 10 Final AP Poll team in any bowl game, ever.
Has little Aaron Murray barely 6 feet tall and 198 lbs with 4.7 speed who is often injured just like Caleb King playing the vast majority of the 1st team with Logan Gray the other guy sharing time with him with the 1st team, yet Zach Mettenberger killed them both throwing to crappy 2nd team receivers, nobodies and walk-ons on a team who does not even have any depth at wide receiver beyond the starter.
And, Aaron Murray NEVER took a snap under center in his entire lifetime. And, he gets reduced reps when supposedly for the 1st time since high school he is healthy, and finally able to practice.
And, Zach Mettenberger is SUSPENDED for the warm-up game so at night on the road against Steve Spurrier and many believe South Carolina is a team to beat in The SEC East this season, this will be his first life action ?
Or is it going to be little Aaron Murray who I think obviously still has a sore arm ? And, is often injured.
Which I guess explains why then Logan Gray PLAYED THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF with the 1st team.
Oh, yes, this is a well-oiled smoothly running machine we got here, especially on offense which explains why Coach Richt said he wanted to give Mike Bobo free reign like he had at FSU under Bobby Bowden, and now has TAKEN OVER THE ENTIRE OFFENSE.
Like he can do that AND be head coach responsible for hiring and firing his Offensive Coaching Staff all coaching positions they DID NOT PLAY.
Have to have 11-year NFL Defensive Coordinator who we pay $750,000 a year everyone does want to hire obviously working with the greatest Defensive Coaches of our Lifetime, every single one of the Best Defensive Minds in our Lifetime Coach Todd Grantham has worked with.
But, on Offense, we can just hire the QB coach at Jacksonville State and make him our Offensive Coordinator whom NO ONE WANTS, and who has 0 NFL experience like every other coach on Coach Richt’s staff ever except for Coach Todd Grantham.

We are the # 1 most profitable football program in America.
We have the # 58 best National University to offer.
We are in The South.
We are in The Bible Belt.
We are in the Sunbelt.
We have a population of this city of over 6 million registered citizens.
We have in the state of Georgia I firmly believe the best high school football programs in America.
We are the Transportation Hub of the World.
We are the fastest growning city in the world and have been for my lifetime.
We have no barriers to growth like Lake Michigan is to Chicago, or Atlantic is to New York, or Pacific is to Los Angeles, or like Houston has, or like Miami has or like the mountains are to Denver.
We have one of the most diverse populations for all of us to enjoy, it is wonderful here.
Everyone wants to be here.
We have attracted more Headquarters to this area than every area in the country.
We have beautiful skyline, abundant natural wonders to enjoy, can get anywhere quickly, have awesome restaurants, top-notch professional sports, beautiful ladies, many top colleges and universities, the Hope Scholarship so we can get walk-ons, we have a really great Athletics Department, our mascot is the most recognized in the world in any sport, we have a great uniform when we don’t play around with it, we have a great conference to compete in the best conference, we have a long history of tradition in every sport here, speedy talented recruits to choose among all of whom would give anything to play for us, and we offer damn few of them a scholarship and are out-recruited now in our state on Offense.
Don’t tell me that Southern California is better with no one out there giving a rats’ behind about college football out there in the land of fruit and nuts in a sorry conference with no one attending and no one caring about it, or that Texas is better playing in a conference that cannot beat The SEC ever with The SEC winning the last 5 National Championships in a row and the Big XII losing every year with the Big 10 trying steal a Big XII team for their 12th team, or that the state Florida is so great with the University of Florida, Miami of Florida and Florida State all trying to get their recruits in that state while we have this state locked up as Georgia tek is certainly not a threat to us in-state.
We have MORE to work with here nimrod.
Sorry you cannot see it that Coach Richt’s Coaching Staff, the entire coaching staff, not just the defensive coaching staff, suck – and have failed miserably especially on Offense.

I have lived in GA more than 30 years with 2 kids going to UGA, so this is no put down of the state or football team, but…..
when you talk player’s speed, never forger Jeff Demps. He scored 10.01 in a 100 track meet, and 4.24 in a 40 football test, and that is smoking.

My whole family are graduates of The University of Georgia. We have had season tickets my whole lifetime.
We are NOT a well-oiled machine in football right now. We are anything but.
Especially on offense with nimrod offensive coaches, quite clearly for all to see, especially the recruits in this state.
This program is in serious decline.
And, we lose 14 senior and 5 juniors after this season, all starters.
We are not going to be ranked this season.
We were not ranked last season.
We have lost 14 games the last 4 years.
Oklahoma does not have more to offer than the beautiful city of Athens. They just play better football there the whole entire Coach Richt Era with his entire NIMROD coaching staff here wasting all we have given them.
Texas does not have more to offer.
Southern California does not have more to offer.
Bose State does not have more to offer.
LSU does not have more to offer.
Florida has a lot to offer, obviously, and we want to add a home game for them 45 minutes from their campus to put our players in a hole to begin with against a University with 50% more students than UGA has.
I would not live in Florida. I have zero interest in a place where the bugs never die and where you have to watch your entire yard home and possessions go into a 100 mph hurricane 3 times a year. You could not get me to live there if you offered me the world.
I like it here.
But, I will tell you this DISNEYdawg.com fans, that Coach Richt’s Coaching Staff – not just the Defensive Coaching Staff, but MOSTLY the offensive coaching staff and special teams’ coaching staff especially has totally sucked, wasted and squandered what we have to offer right here.
Their personnel deicisions are NO MORE SELF-EVIDENT than at QB right now and how they WASTED the entire Spring Practice, getting drunk, arrested, and beating up litlte girls who are students at my alma mater, then visiting them in jail.

And, don’t give this junk patrick that we are better than Florida with 2 National Championships for their graduating class right now and our 2-7 record against them in the Coach Richt Era and 3 national championships since 1996.
Or, that we are better than LSU patrick with LSU having more wins than UGA in the Coach Richt Era, and Coach Richt NOT having more wins or fewer losses than Florida either, and LSU also has 2 National Championships in the last 5 years.
And, Alabama has a National Championship now too, while we sit here logging on the Internet in Atlanta Georgia telling everyone that Coach Richt is the best coach with the sorry coaching staff he has given this University from the day he finally decided to show up, quit calling plays as he promised us that day 10 years ago, and quit coaching QBs like he promised us he would do when we came here 10 years ago and is paid 3 million a year in this easy job.
A job made easier because you are satisfied in 14-game seasons for him to have won more than 11 wins once.
We have been embarrassed on and off the field.

The posts I enjoy the most are the posts that say that the 92 arrested / supspended in the Coach Richt Era,
HAPPENS EVERYWHERE.
It does not.
And, I love the posts about how with us having NEVER beat a Top 10 Final AP Poll in ANY Bowl Game the entire Coach Richt Era with his sorry coaching staff, that I am a Georgia tek fan or that no one is allowed to say that just perhaps we have a glaring issue on the offensive coaching staff; and, I love the posts that say that in 14-game seasons nowadays that we are so much better off now than when Ray Goof was our coach.
Satisfied, even nay bragging that with 1 season in now year 10 here that he was won more than 11 games 1 time, and has failed to have a QB ready even in 2006, 2009 and now again 2010, that we are the best program in The SEC, 1-3 vs the vols and 1-3 vs Florida the last 4 years.
# 96 in penalties every year average ranking 4 years and counting in a row
14 interceptions a year 4 years and counting in a row with 3 frosh QB
21 fumbles a year 4 years and counting in a row with inability to do anything
but
WAFFLE
on personnel decisions.
Those are the posts I really adore.
We are so great, right now today.
Best ever.
Better than Florida at 2-7
David Green beat them 1 time in 4
Matthew Stafford beat them 1 time in 3
Lost 7 won 2 and I mean lost by 50 points
And, we are better.

bulldawg..please change your name…your a disgrace…you have no clue what you are talking about, only stats that you look up on the computer with with your tech buddies…all those stats you put down and you leave the most important record out..richt and his coaching staffs overall record since he has been coaching at UGA. richt is easily one of the top 3-7 coaches right now and when he wins his 3 or so NC he will be number 1 so go break down another coaches team roster…

D. Thomas was already at Tech and had no choice but to play wideout in Coach Johnson’s option attack….If he knew what the offense was going to be like before he signed with Tech, do you think he goes to Tech or somewhere with a pro-style offense? Don’t know that with all the success Coach Johnson has had running this offense if he has ever before BAYBAY had a wide receiver go pro…..Could be wrong, but don’t think so…..

LMAO @ the Ga.Tech comments. If you have to tell a player that you are going to use “creative” ways to get him the ball, you know things are bad.

I have read these comments about A CHILD. This is not what this CHILD signed up for. The Child is going through a lot. He has over come a lot in his life. Yeah it might not be the wing T OFFENSE, Call it what you want they are still running the TRIPLE OPTION that’s the PLAY not the set/formation. Personally I think the kid is better suited in a spread Offense. I’ve seen him and talked with him. He Started running Track last year and WON at age 15. Not only is there JUSTIN but there are 10 others on his track team that also play football 7 are college Bound athlete’s the other’s are freshmen Sprinters that are faster than JUSTIN. UGA is a great School but clearly STANFORD is better in academics. UGA loves this kid he’s gonna need some fine tuning but, what CHILD doesn’t? Did you know he’s not raised by his mother? Did you know his dad’s family is all that he has? Do you know THE POVERTY LEVEL IN CAMILLA? Do you know for this kid to even be making it out of CAMILLA IS A BLESSING. DO YOU KNOW THAT MC has had the BEST ATH’s in the state of GA do your research they are formally MITCHELL-BAKER. Do you know this Kid LIVES in a DRUG INFESTED COMMUNITY which the majority of CAMILLA IS. Do YOU KNOW THIS is UGA’s or GT DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH. Personally this kid is Olympic bound now. THE AJC has his times wrong he ran a 10.53at the WESTOVER RELAYs in albany GA April 16, 2010 and a 21.40 in the Thomas County Relays. Oh I forgot he’s #3 in the Nation in the 200m. The kid is FASTER THE HE KNOWS and this is only his 2nd YR running. Don’t be so critical of this CHILD or Children in General. Justin is a GREAT YOUNGMAN, and will be suitable for any COLLEGE PROGRAM who is willing TO GET THE BEST OUT OF THIS CHILD and form him into a PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN for Camilla’s SAKE!!! LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD he really lives in NOLE COUNTRY he’s only 45mins away. This is the area UGA NEEDS let’s remember this is REGION 1. WE ARE FOOTBALL. GO AHEAD JUSTIN
