TRUE BLUE that might not be exactly what westlake wants to do next year. Westlake loses A LOT of talent after this season. I dont know wheat they have coming up but they lose majority of their size. It would not be a real battle over who is the best between the two this year. but as a fellow eagle you know we dont back down from anyone…i think i heard that coach was trying to schedule the atlanta hawks for a preseason exhibition game…lol

Once again I say….what other county….year in, year out has the best B-Ball team’s than Dekalb county. 5 teams SWD(girls),Columbia(boys/girls),Miller Grove(boys), Redan(girls) with a very good chance of winning a state championship. If it were Gwinnett, Cobb or North Fulton county teams we wouldn’t hear the end of it on TV or in the newspaper. All of Dekalb county should be very proud of our boys and girls.

Man please quit already with this tradition talk. What do you think we have? Put the headache down you smoking and look up the history, we’ve been doing this. It’s nothing new to us, Dougherty won 97 and what have they done since, nothing worth mentioning. All you have is Westover and we haven’t always been in the same class. Westover has won a lot of championships but they took some L’s too in the title game. Tucker ran through yall in the 96 title game, remember that? Bottom line we’ve been winning for years almost 30 of them to be exact, so take that tradition stuff somewhere else. You don’t go to the last 5 semifinals in two different classifications and numerous other championship and semifinal appearances in the last 30 years and not have tradition.

Yeah but if my aunt had my reproductive organs she’d be my uncle. Man that’s a part of the game, if they drank more fluids before the game maybe they wouldn’t have cramped. Just give credit where it’s due, sounds like an excuse to me. Was Miller Grove cramping???????

You must have been living under a rock for the last 10 years because metro Atlanta teams has won 10 str8 titles in 5A, at least 7 out of 10 in 4A. It seems to me that metro Atlanta has owned the state of Ga and that’s with our talent split up between at least 3 schools within a 10 mile radius.

I could careless about Columbia & Westover. However, until Columbia can win 4 straight State chamionships (i dont care when it was) you really cant talk much. Who cares what your region has done…..what have you done…..2 state championships (2)…Westover (6)….4 in a row at one time….if Columbia could win 3 in row they would be a great team..but not better then Westover…remember…i dont care about either one of you

I have to agree with you, both teams were not cramping and they should have charged the coach with a timeout because they players delayed the game over cramps this late in the season.

Cramps was not the problem Miller Grove played defense when they were down by 7, 54-47 and Richmond did not score a bucket for 4 minutes. Please watch the game before giving opinions.

Players play and Coaches have to coach this time of the year. Defense wins CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The only reason Atl wins 5A is because most of the schools in 5a are in Atl and the 5A schools in South Ga really dont care about b-ball football is there game Dekalb County i just want to see yall put a better product on the floor those championships teams from Westover 6 Dougherty 2 Mitchel-Baker 5 would make you cuss how exiting it was to watch them play The players i watch yall put out really dont make you get out of your seat if you had no attachment to the team and was just a casual fan yall still got a long way to march Dekalb county to get where Alb We have chapters of history yall have a few pages with new ink

Where do you think Josh Smith got his pedigree from His father and uncles were legends here in albany The state of Ga should be scared to match up with your schools yall just lack a tough edge that other major cities have thats why undersized schools like Bainbridge gave Mays a hard time and Terrell County took Whitfield Academy to ot and a below 500 team Dougherty beat two state ranked teams and had no 1 lagrange on the ropes in the final seconds they are tough and gritty grind it out teams Hey Colunbia if yall don’t put Westover away early yall in trouble

I believe the Kendrick High Girls would beat any girls team in the state of Ga. period including all classifications , there intensity level is unmatched by any team that i have seen in the state, they play 13 girls at 2-5 minute intervals and the defensive pressure is relentless, their coach states he never worries about offense.

Congrats Eagle 1,2 and all my DeKalb folk on winning another state championship. Westover’s jersey’s might as well have said SALVATION ARMY on the front because we donated that game to them…..11 point lead with less than 3min…..C’MON SON!!! Good luck Mays and Westlake hold it down 4 the CITY! Next year S. Atl will be loaded but we won’t get to play Columbia or Westover again because we’ll be in AA.

You talk all this stuff about Dougherty and they got 2 titles. We have two also but look at the sucess of the teams even when we don’t win. You guys talk about 4 straight but we were a minute or two away from three in a row before we lost to Tucker in the championship after beating them three time already earlier season. Just face it we’re currently on a run right now that’s impressive, don’t hate that. Dougherty’s fluky championship don’t compare to our tradition. How many semifinal and finals have anybody in Albany been in besides Westover? Heck take out the 90’s run Westover had and they seem a lot more normal. Don’t talk to me about Mitchell Baker because even with Jumaine Jones they couldn’t beat Dion Glover and Cedar Grove in 97, they ran through them. What have they done lately, you only funky as your last cut. And the last time anybody from Albany was in this position they lost, so don’t tell me about tradition.

Decatur 4 Life Dekalk County era is just under way Albany was getting the invatations yall are getting now back in the 90’s and early 2000’s thats why i can talk about Albanys tradition Westover won 2 of there championships against albany high and back in the 90’s only two teams could represent there region so Albany was beating up on themselves Dont deny the tradition Alb has its like denying the Lakers success or the Celtics make sure yall be ready to play win or loose yall in for a fight Time Will Tell

Decatur 4 Life 12 Final Fours 9 Championship Apperances 6 state titles at Westover AINT NORMAL by no means. Its Legendary no school in the State Of Georgia has come close to those numbers thats not counting Dougherty,Monroe,Albany High success Albany is a gold mine rich in tradition you should know one of your big men on Columbia went to Dougherty in the ninth grade. Make sure yall use our big man right Columbia!!!

Richmond played their hardest against miller grove. The refs, of course, were calling things in miller grove’s favor. RICHMOND ACADEMY ARE THE TRUE 2010 CLASS AAAA BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPS!!
