Coach Mack, my husband, Coach Otis and Coach Barker are the best coaching team in the world. Mays boys and girls were pretty much ignored by the masses, AJC, GaPrepcountry, etc. all year, but that’s okay, we like to quietly sneak up and demand the respect deserved all along. The girls had an excellent season, it was a heartbreaking loss, however, keep your heads up until next season. Go Raider boys all the way, you have worked so hard, however, take it this last step!

You’re right Columbia fans will say that Miller Grove loss was just a scrimmage because that exactly what it was a SCRIMMAGE. They never beat us when it counted, we were all in the same region for years and they never won not the region tourney or the regular season. Ask Mfon, we own Miller Grove

Yeah we can play Westlake but you might want it at a neutral site, don’t come to Decatur you won’t win. Columbia hasn’t loss a home game in at least 5 or 6 years, neutral site is the only way you have a chance!!!!

the fact of the matter is that Columbia is gonna win….hands down. I want to see Westlake win it all and I have a feeling that Mays is gonna upset Miller Grove….Imagine if Columbia was still in 4A right now. What a finals match that would be. Big ups to SWD girls doin’ their thing. Now its time for the Lady Eagles to bring one home. oh and I’m hoping that Redan girls bring it home too!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Mays High, it is good to see some of the atlanta area schools do well. Good luck in the finals. The SWD- NW Whitfield game will hopefully be a good one. I hear NW has some pretty big girls. I hear the SWD coach made substitutions to early in their previous game and it almost cost them the win. In order for SWD to three-peat, their coaching decisions will have to be on point. LETS GO DEKALB.

“Till Dougherty showed us”, are you kidding? Albany must have the best thing smoking in the world because you are hallucinating. Dougherty didn’t show us anything but not taking an opponent lightly in the championship game, that’s about all. We didn’t shoot the ball well in 97 and couldn’t get them out of their zone defense, that’s basketball. They won the game but they didn’t show us anything, and as for all this ATL basketball trash talk Westover is the only program there that has tradition. There are plenty of programs in the metro area that have rich and deep tradition in basketball. You mentioned James Forrest and his Southside teams of the past, they had a terrific run but there were teams in the metro area that they couldn’t do anything with. Bottom line there’s a lot more parody in ATL basketball than anywhere else in the state, more athletes and more schools to choose from. That’s the reason yall get the issue when u matchup against us, that’s the reason you hear strength of opponents because yall regions are extremely weak as a whole. When Columbia was in AAAA, their region produced the champion 4 years in a row and a chance for the fifth this year with Miller Grove. That kind of stuff you don’t see in S. Ga, maybe in football but in nothing else. When Westover takes the floor Friday, they’ll be going against not only the best team in the state but the pride of Columbia Dr. Make sure the whole west side of Albany comes, you’ll need em!!!!!!!!

To “Dan” Believe me, no one at SWD doubts that you have a good team and can win. You dont win 2 consecutive state titles and make it to the finals for a chance at a third title by underestimating your opponents. NW has had a great season and deserve to be playing in the finals. Why are we still talking about what happen in 97. This is 2010 and DEKALB COUNTY is ruling once again in BASKETBALL. Don’t hate us ,because we send more student- athlete to college than any other county in the STATE of GEORGIA.
