VIDEO: Emotional Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson talks about death of McEachern RB Rajaan Bennett
Vanderbilt football coach Bobby Johnson spoke to reporters on Thursday in the aftermath of the death of McEachern football star Rajaan Bennett, who had signed a football scholarship with Vanderbilt earlier in the month.
Bennett was one of Georgia’s top high school football players. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound Bennett rushed for 1,857 yards and scored 29 touchdowns for McEachern (10-1), which finished the regular season with an undefeated record.

Although, I do not know the Bennett family, my heart and prayers goes out to all of you in this moment of darkness. Our GOD is an awesome God and he will ease your pain over-time. May GOD continue to bless and keep the Bennett family.

I remember Bennett during the East Paulding game. Score was tied late…..Bennett took over, pulled his team to victory….seems he was used to doing that in life. Awesome player and apparently awesome young man RIP……….

I knew Rajaan Bennett, he was a friend and a very loving person. Rajaan was the best high school player i’ve known. My heart and prayers go out to his family and those who also knew him. During my time at Mceachern 9-11th grade he was a great friend, my friend Erickah Hammond had the biggest crush on him.lol.. with all said RIP rajaan bennett or should i say see you another day my friend.
