I play at Eagle’s Landing and i think we are a bit over rated, we lost 9 starting seniors last year and this year is diffently a rebuilding year. Also Thomasville should be ranked alot higher in A/AA they are a very good team.

Region 5-AAAA is full of contenders for the Girl’s title with 4 teams in the Top 6. Alexander HS will be in the Top 10 eventually….

A/AA – Little LandMark might surprise some people. 2 Seniors, who are both Academy Players. One with a signed scholarship and another with an offer from the Air Force Academy. The 3rd Academy player is a sophomore – and can play anywhere on the field. (This player would start at Starrs Mill, where he would be going to school, if not in private.) These three are supported by a couple of classic 2 players – one who has a nice pace and a knack for putting the ball in the goal, and a very solid goalie. The balance of the team is made up of hard working kids. State title – nah.. But should make the playoffs and could surprise a team or two.

How about going back to the good old days of no class A rankings. St P X was able to hold their own against the big boys in 5A. Example 1991 SPX 1 Parkview 0. 5A V 2A then 4A V 3A then winners meet to see the real champion. Go Lions

Coach Boozer will once again have the Walton boys well prepared, and this year he’s got some really strong returning under classmen…Raiders take it all come May.

Cairo deserved their ranking last year, but I agree that they will fall off after losing 4 key players. I don’t understand the AA rankings for boys. What are the people who made the polls going off of?

No Glynn Academy in the Boys or Girls Rankings….then they are invalid.
Guess the “experts” haven’t heard that National Team standout Andy Craven has returned to the GA program from international competition. And I assume that the”experts” have never heard of Ally Brashear…one of the top 10 girls performers in the state. Oh well….you’ll find out everyone else…the hard way!

GAC @ #2? They lost all their stars and will have a roster with zero seniors. Let the fall begin…

The Salem and Starr’s Mill girls’ ranking should be flip flopped shouldn’t they?. Salem finished last year 18-4-0 while Starr’s Mill finished 13-5-2. But Starr’s Mill is ranked higher than Salem? Really? I don’t get it. By the way, how are the rankings determined? According to eurosportscoreboard.com Northgate and Glynn Academy both finished 17-3-0 yet Glynn Academy is ranked #7 and Northgate is ranked #10. Huh?
I dunno . . .sigh . . .

Watch out for the Rome Wolves in AAAA. They only lost a few starters from last year’s injury-riddled team.

neither the boys nor the girls of marist can hang with the boys and girls of pius. The pius girls won 6-3 last year over marist, and the marist boys havent beaten pius in years. Not to mention, they wouldnt play the pius boys unless they didnt have their basketball players last year, which included three starters, two seniors last year and a current senior who is committed to clemson.

I agree that Collins Hill Boys in 5A should garner the top spot for now since they won the Championship last year. That being said, they have a new coach that hasn’t had the opportunity, or time to evaluate the talent pool that exists at Collins Hill. For Collins Hill sake, I hope he did a good job evaluating that talent and is able to coach up both the Varsity and JV teams that he assembled.
Based on my observation over watching the majority of the boys play at the club level and/or high school level the past four years, I was extremely surprised at four or five selections that were made for both Varsity and JV. I don’t think the strongest players were selected, but time will tell. Good luck to them and hopefully there will be back to back championships at Collins Hill.

Where’s Murray County Indians on this list on region AAAA. They have all the making of making state play-offs this year and playing tough games at Rome, at Dalton, and other places

My Daughters school has been over looked. Creekview high school Soccer has been doing a great job but, I think the media focused on teams in Atlanta or closer to Atlanta. Creekview is a newer School only in it’s 5th year and the girls soccer team made it to the final 4 last year only to be knocked out by St. Pius and we didi pretty good agaist them. Please come out and see for yourselfThank You
