Georgia High School Football Daily Spotlight: Northside-Warner Robins jumps in national rankings

Northside of Warner Robins has climbed 19 spots to No. 4 nationally in the RivalsHigh 100 rankings.

Northside is coming off a 29-24 victory over Newnan, the last of the unbeaten teams in Georgia’s Class AAAAA to fall. Northside will be playing in its fifth state final this decade on Saturday against Camden County, which is ranked No. 25 by RivalsHigh.

Northside apparently has no shot at a national title because No. 2 Don Bosco Prep of New Jersey has finished its season at 12-0.

Here’s a look at Georgia teams in the national rankings:

Camden did play Newnan one year (cant remember which one) in the dome for the semi’s. We were loosing at half time and looked like a different team after the talking too they received at half-time. If my memory serves me right, Newnan did not score in the 2nd half and we won the game. I believe it was 03! After that we went to Valdosta and won the title.

Greetings EagleNationRising,

Okay, I will speak on NCamden County vs Newnan. In 2003 Camden County beat Newnan at the Georgia Dome 20-10. In 2005 Camden County Hammered Newnan 50-0 and 2008 Camden County beat Newnan 27-7. Newnan has NEVER beaten Camden County as far as I can remember. How about that for talks. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

And that is inaccurate info as well for you to say that Camden County has ONLY beaten Newnan in the Dome. They also beat Peachtree Ridge in the Dome for the State Title. And guess what? They will beat Northside Warner Robins in the Georgia Dome too. :-) :-) ;-) ;-) :-)

Northside may have a trend (according to your report) in the Dome, but Northside Warner Robins haven’t played Camden County in the Georgia Dome. In addition, Northside Warner Robins have yet to beat Camden County this decade. :-) :-) :-) :-)

In conclusion, you are right. It is Girls basketball season at Newnan right now, and Bradwell Institute girls basketball team will beat them too. :-)

Northside maybe the status quo (according to you) But Camden County holds the State Title.

How you like me now EaglenationsRising! :-)

This is going to be a great game between the two best teams in our state regardless of classification(Buford fans!). It will be a close game, but I have a hunch that it will be decided before the the 4th qtr. One of these superpowers will get off to a good start with the help of a big play. A 10 or 14 pt. deficit in this game will prove to be too much for one of these teams. If Camden has success running the ball in the first half, Northside is doomed. Camden’s line gets better in second half…all but one are seniors. If Northside’s multiple offense has its way early, they can really put pressure on Camden and force them to do things that aren’t their strengths. Take away Ean Days, and Johnson will kill you. Stuff the middle and Days and Darius Sullivan will hit you for long runs. Camden and Northside both beat Lowndes and Colquitt this year. Possibly the third and fourth best teams in the state.Northside has characteristic of both Lowndes and Colquitt rolled into one. Camden will have their hands full Saturday night…….It’s funny, Northside has been ranked higher than Camden all year, played a tougher schedule, has a better record, and a much shorter ride to the dome this weekend….but the overall feeling(even from Eagle fans) is that of an underdog looking to complete a season of destiny! Camden fans, it looks like this entire blog is silently giving you that “RESPECT” that you have been screaming for the past 10 years! So relax all you Wildcat fans, Silent Respect is Respect none the less. Everyone enjoy a great weekend of Georgia football, and lets support our “children” in a classy way as they represent us on the field of battle.

My wife is a 1969 graduate of Northside High School and we suffered through many years of Warner Robins Demons domination when Robert Davis was their head coach. GO NORTHSIDE EAGLES!!!!!!

ENR, Northside has not beat Camden this decade, if my memory serves me right, Northside does not own a AAAAA state title. None of us know how either team will respond on saturday, other than how they have played thus far. Camden was not expected to be where they are now, according to all of the experts. Shows what experts know. Camden was a very talented team when they won the state title last year. They knew what they had coming into the year. That’s why the kids play the game. Northside was loaded last year with offensive and defensive talent, seems to me nothing has changed with both teams. Something has to give on saturday. This will be a hard fought game, I enjoy games when there are not a lot of big name players trying to pad their highlight films, takes a way from the game. Northside knows what Camden will be doing, running, running and running some more. Camden knows Northside can run and throw, play action and sprint draws. Defenses are fast and strong up front and in the middle. Special teams will play a role in this game, as well as field position. If Camden get’s that Wing T going it will be a long night for Northside. Those huge D lineman will be running all night(ala last year). Camden will force Northside to stop the run. If Northside can keep Camden under 6-7 yards a carry, they will control the game. The goal is not to try to stop #32, but to control the Wing T. If you stop #32, then #15, #2, and #5 will give you problems. All of Camden backs have different styles, Northside has to figure out which style is less poisionous. Northsides QB likes to slip off blocks, and Shaq is a dynamic runner, unlike Xavier Bacon, who would run through or around you, he will slip behind the O line. Throughout the playoffs, Camdens D line has been smaller than their opponents O line, but they are stronger and faster. Play sound technique, also they rotate numerous D lineman, which keeps them fresh the whole game. Camden also rotates their backers well. Look forward to a great game.

It’s obvious that the peole who do the rankings don’t really have a clue? #4 vs #25. LOL. That may have been so but they got the names backwards.
