Jones and Lanier Middle are Gwinnett County schools and therefore not part of Buford City Schools. Oh, That’s right. I forgot that Buford sees all of the Gwinnett county schools as recruiting ground!!!

GO UG: Someone mentioned earlier that Conrad Nix was thinking of retiring..I hope not cause that man can coach..As I have seen all year ENR has a passion for his team like no other…and yes if he were to lose today he would be on here to take the heat…that he has been giving out all year…I am just stating that we all should take pride in our teams like ENR does…and the knowlege he has about High School Sports is Impressive..I hear the weather in Georgia is going to be cold today..good thing the games are in the Dome..but I pray for safe travels for all teams and fans heading there..take care and may God Bless you all

Most kids?? Buford is very careful to only allow in the ones that they think can help their athletic teams. If they allow too many in then they would have to move up in class. Now we wouldn’t, now would we.

COUGFAN88, you mentioned ENR, who is he? Is he a new blogger on here…just kidding! To say that he is passionate about his team would be an understatement.
WHAT HAPPENED to you guys last week? I would never have thought in a million years that Newnan would have given up that many points. My thought is that the week before against Grayson took a lot out of Newnan. Tonight should be a really good game and I can’t wait.
Good luck to all the teams today and tonight. I have really enjoyed being a part of the blog and cannot wait until next year. Happy Holiday Season!

Buford interviews all kids and evaluates them. they have one of the top academic programs around. the principal is very tough on academics and strives for excellence in everything. Buford isn’t scared of anyone, so don’t try to hate.

The only way to stop Buford and its recruiting is to not play them. Don’t show for the games, forfeit, no gate. If they are stacking teams full of students who don’t live there like they were a private school, let them play with themselves. Nothing wrong with having a good school, but it should be known what they do and decide if you want to play in the same class with someone with advantages. UGA would probably beat Duke in football more often than not but look at the budgets and recruitment power, and yes they are in the same division. Just call for what it is.

Who are the idiots doing the play-by-play call on GPB?? Good grief, I’ve heard more competent calling and color in small-town AM radio. These clowns can’t even get the names of the teams in the Class A right. It’s been “Christian of Savannah”, Savannah’s Christian”, etc. And they just plugged the upcoming AAA game as Gainesville against “Peachtree County”
Can GPB not find broadcasters who at least act like they CARE about the game they’re watching?
What a couple of morons…..

In county schools you go to the school that is in your district were you live. Buford operates the same as private schools. It is a city school that allows non residents to go there as long as they pay an equivalent of the city taxes. the amount is 1500-2000. The private schools in gwinnett county charge 12000-18000 a year. So you can see the private schools price tag would make it prohibitive for most to attend.
I also took the time to see if Buford strive for excellance was paying off. 2009 graduates of Buford averaged 1455 on the SAT. Not bad until you compare the surrounding Gwinnett County Schools. Here is a run down of their scores. Collins Hill (1529), Mill Creek (1542) North Gwinnett(1573) Peachtree Ridge (1553) and Dacula (1515). Those are the high schools closest to Buford. Mmmm, Maybe they are not interviewing for academic excellence.

HEY GO UG: I have no answers for you…except you are right the Grayson Game took alot out of us…But Really when you run a three down lineman front on defense against a team that uses their QB the way Northside does you can expect to give up 5-6 yards a play everydown..they just kept running QB to the left …QB to the Right..and then when we had enough of that they ran Shaquille O’Neil up the middle..no adjustments were made..and when you pick up 5-6 yards every play..the clock just keeps ticking and you can’t get your offense in any kind of rhythm..They had a great game plan and never waivered…GO UG..have a great time at the game and enjoy..be safe getting there..and I hope the game is as good as we all expect it to be…Talk to you soon..

Not true beatdown. Buford was asked to participate in the Progressive Football Challenge to take Central Gwinnetts place and play Byrnes. Central Gwinnett wanted out of their committment. Buford declined and picked up Grovetown ( a brand new team/school). That’s the way to put it on the line!

You know what, I like Buford’s schedule. This year they played teams that were in higher regions and beat them. In the past though Buford was representing the state well by playing teams from Texas and Ohio and beating those teams badly. So don’t tell Buford to play harder teams or play Lowndes or any other team. Tell those teams to follow what Buford is doing and represent this state correctly.

Unfortunately, the only game I have been able to watch was the Buford-Calhoun game, but I CONGRATULATE all the champions and applaud all the teams which made it to the DOME. Neither the Wolves nor the Jackets seemed to be the same teams we played, but they put on an awesome gridiron battle, and the defenses were most impressive. When a team turns the ball over four times, it is unfortunate for them, but it doesn’t mean they gave the game away. It’s not like they just said “This offensive stuff is way overrated so why don’t we just throw the ball on the ground or throw it to a Buford player, and see if we can hold them again.” Buford took the ball away. And the undersized Calhoun defense played their hearts out and did what no other team has done all year in limiting Buford to 13 points, even with the Wolves’ coach pulling several surprises on offense. They were the two best that AA had to offer, and even though it was not as exciting as most, including myself, expected, it was a true epic battle between two passionate teams. And I’m sure it was plenty exciting enough for the players and coaches. This Lovett fan is proud that Buford once again represented Region 6 in an admirable and winning way. And I’m proud that we brought out the best in Calhoun in that game. Playing the best makes a team better and Lovett appreciates the opportunity to have played both of these teams this year. It’s hard to believe that Buford will probably be even better the next two years. When will it ever stop! lol Go Wolves, Go Jackets, and most of all
