Best Griffin team was probably 78 or 85. 85 team had 13 D1 players, 5 of whom went pro. Lost to a loaded SW Dekalb team in the infamous ‘fog bowl’. Wish that Newnan and Griffin still played one another, though. That was a classic rivarly that should have never ended.

Exactly. So you see Bradwell Institute have beaten Camden County. It’s just that 1998 was the last year Bradwell Institute had Beaten Camden County.

I think the most interesting thing that could come out of this weekend would be the possibility of a NWR vs Camden playoff rematch in the dome for the state’s highest classification. As both schools have proven over the last 7 or so years to be big time performers, and i think that this match up would actually garner at least a little national attention as well. Thoughts?

fitzgerald has been small all year, does not matter speed and strength will overcome that obstacle, fitzgerald is going to blow buford back to guinette co. if you thought cook gave you a hard time fitz quick cat “D” is going to dismantle your rb’s/qb, it is not going to be a cake walk by no means, but we will win

dakatah, I can assure you that no one on that Packer team has guaranteed a win over a week Camden team. They respect the Camden program and they know they will be in a battle tonight. I can tell you that they do believe that they can win this game and the state championship.

@dakotah — I think we can win it all. As a fan you always have to think you can win. Again, as i said earlier, i don’t know a lot about colquitt, so i don’t want to underestimate anyone that can come out of region 1 and then advance to the state semis. As far as winning it all, the trek to Atlanta is so rough for Camden that no matter which team they end up playing they will not have to travel nearly as far, and has an advantage there. But first our boys need to take care of buisness at Chris Gilman tonight against the Packers.

Here is my take on Northside-WR vs Newnan. Northside is coming in knowing that alot of people already are picking Newnan to win in close defensive battle, people think Peachtree Ridge solved the mystery to stopping Northside’s run game. well what Peachtree Ridge Did was put plainly play great defense against the run for 3.5 quarters and forgot there is more to football than just running the ball! Northside does not pass alot because it rarely has too but they showed PTR that there is more to NSWR than just running. everytime we Threw our wide receivers were wide open and when it counted we burnt them. our defense if you wanna really know the stats have ony given up 21 points in the playoffs, every one else(chapel hill, union grove and ptr ony scored on kickoff returns and field goals)so running on NSWR is out of the picture when they make you one dimentional that is where we put teams in trouble! our offense proved against PTR we can beat you thru the air. so about tonights game i believe Coach Nix has a couple wrinkles up his sleeve for the aggresive Newnan Defense! so if the Ogletree twins are excited you best believe the Eagles are excited about making a statement! We don’t Care about what happen in 2003, al1 we care about is tonight! Remember we play hard, hit you hard and most of all Win hard! Go Eagles and good luck to the Newnan! Much health to both Teams.
