Anyone who believes that someone is going to put up 20 on Northside’s defense is fooling his or herself. You are talking about two of the premiere programs in the state of Georgia when you are talking about Newnan and Northside-Warner Robins.

Our Eagles have been there and done that. We have faced some of the most prolific offenses in the state of Georgia. None of them put up 20 points on our Eagles. Lowndes scored 7. Colquitt County scored 17, much of that coming off of fine special teams play. Peachtree Ridge scored 10.

If Newnan only put up 9 points against Grayson, you are stretching your imagination, if you believe Newnan is going to hang 20 on Northside. Will Northside have our starting QB and RB who were practically out against Peachtree Ridge. If so, our Eagles are going to return to the State Championship.

We have Conrad Nix. Ask Peachtree Ridge and Lwondes County posters if Nix does not make a difference. We were dead in the water Friday night against P-Rdige. He found a way with backup players and 10th graders. He is the best in Georgia. PERIOD! :-)

Drock09: We all have a great deal of respect for the fine people at Sandy Creek, who actually turned themselves in for having a stadium that is too small. It is a nice and heart-warming story. However, you can forget about a metro Atlanta team traveling to Griffin and beating the Bears in a state semifinal game. The thought is actually hilarious! :-) :-) :-) Atlanta teams do not perform well when getting hit. Trust me, Griffin is going to hit…real hard.

Randy Prosen, that article you wrote in the paper was the truth. I hope the crowd is larger than the Lowndes game, but that will be difficult to do. I’ve omly missed 2 games since the 2003 Championship year. And thats the last game my mother went to, even she is going tommorrow.

First off ENR…Sandy Creek isn’t an “Atlanta” team. As far as being physical well…Ask Loganville, Ask Tucker, Ask TCC. The Patriots are PLENTY physical.

Ealenationrising. How can Newnan be 1 of the premier teams in GA? 04/05:6-5, Lost to Stephenson 6-0 1st round
05/06:4-7, Lost to Camden 50-0
06/07:7-4, Lost to Houston County 35-21 1st round
07/08:11-2, Lost to North Gwinnett 38-38 3rd round
08/09:13-1. Lost to Camden 27-7 at the Drake 4th round.
09/10:13-0?
I will give you Newnan has gotten better over hte past 3 season’s. Premier may be a little strong. Northside is a premier team, that dominated in AAAA football has shown it can compete with the “Big Boy’s”. Too bad they will drop down next year to AAAA again. Was the hardest hitting game last year in Camden. I think Newnan had butterflies last year at home with a state title game on the line. “Tree” is a legit next level player. Titles make you a premier team. I like Northside in that game, Newnan should have learned last year about the bright lights of getting to the dome. Northside has been there. Newnan has never been there. Almost only counts in horshoes ans hand grenades.

Wardawg, I know you chose a few select seasons to make your point but Newnan has a 40 year history of winning football . We haven’t won the big one yet(give us 8 days) but Camden won their first in 2003, not long ago. Before that ,what was Camden County? Newnan plays tough football, ask LaGrange and Griffin.

This how Camden County porgram got built into a power house it is today.

It’s all about strategy when it comes to scheduling look at UGA’s schedule vs Florida schedule. If you schedule to many tough teams outside your conference early on it can be problematic. Florida took Miami off their schedule for that reason.

If Camden had moved to 1-AAAAA they would schedule just like the other teams. You get three non-region games. First game is a cup cake. Second game a tough opponent. Now a great coach can find his glaring weakness. The third game another cup cake or mid level program. This allow a great coach to see the adjustments.

Camden has used this formula in region 3-AAAAA. But there weak region allows the coach to continue to develop young players and stay away from major injuries. This is the main reason they can win on the road.

Player development for depth and no major injuries is the key using live game situations.

But unlike say Valdosta,Lowndes,Colquitt,NSWR and WR (1-AAAAA) or Peach County, Baldwin, Carver Colombus (1-AAA)who has to deal with a tough region schedule and major injuries and cannot rely on a weak region schedule to develop experience back up during the season. Give any great coach the ability to play freshman and sophmores a half game every game and watch the results. Take any of these programs and give them Camden’s 3-AAAAA schedule and watch the results. They can not schedule no more than one tough opponent outside their region. Check all the above teams non-region schedule and you will see what I just said.

NSWR removed Peach County from their schedule for this reason when they went to 1-AAAAA.

Robert Davis did this when he left Warner Robins and went to Westside Macon and that program.

Buzzbee removed Screven County and Swainsboro tough AA teams from Statesboro schedule to build up that program when he arrived.

When I was in the military I was stationed at at Moody AFB in Valdosta, Warner Robins AFB, Texas, Florida. I was raised in Statesboro Ga. I now live in Metro Atlanta. I have seen great High School football.

To win State you need plenty of depth and no key injuries.

Peach Co. over Eastside. Gainesville over Flowery Branch. I agree that Peach Co. is for real. Peach and Gainesville both have great defenses, but in the end Gainesville has too much offense for Peach. Gainesville’s offense is explosive. They can score at anytime from anywhere on the field.

I read these blogs from pre-season to post-season and its always the same thing. Camden does not play anybody. Camden has a weak regular season schedule. I ask, can we get any love. All we do is produce in the post season year in and year out. AJC rarely gives us coverage, but we continue to put GA football on the national stage. Camden will win this Friday night and they will repeat as Champions. I like the fact that no one respects us. For my own selfish reasons I would have liked to be placed in Region1, but I will take what they give me. I wish the Packers safe travel to Chris Gilman. I will be among you on the visitors/home side. GO CATS GO!!!!!! You will hear me Friday Night!

Yeah WAQ you have it all figured out.
Camdens weak first team this year: Grayson (loss)
Weak second team: First Coast (close game)
Weak third team: Hoover, AL (loss)
ha.
We play in a weak region and have to play tough teams on the road.

No GHSA does, it’s the Savannah schools that causing this problem in fairness to Camden. It’s not their fault. The Savannah schools wants that same edge in basketball for AAAAA. They are really AAA schools and do not want to compete in AAA because of their basketball tradition.

The Dome is a competitive advantage for ATL area schools….. High school recruiting around atl is competitive advantage (I lived in Atl to I know it happens)….7 or 8 Div 1 players on one team is advantage…I just don’t understand why u keep posting this over and over..

All comunities need something to bring them closer together and high school sports is great tools to do it. Count your blessing the Savannah schools needs the same thing and you both benefit from a unfair competitive advantage to develop talent via a loop hole in the GHSA rules. Other programs have to built their programs the old fashion way not via loop holes.

I am a fan of the Pack, and I agree that Camden plays in a weak Region and probably would not go undefeated in Region 1-AAAAA, but they make it fairly deep into the playoffs every year…The only thing that sucks is that our #2 seed has to play them every year and neither team normally deserves to be eliminated that early in the playoffs…
